I have not been in since the ownership change/remodel. I was leaving for Miami so I came in for a pedicure last week. I booked my appointment online and saw they do a discount on Tuesdays! My appointment was for 5pm but I was not taken until 5:20. I hate soaking my feet for too long and getting cold without being worked on so I declined and sat in my chair until someone freed up. When I make an appointment I expect to be seen on time. The pedicure and the massage were great and I felt very relaxed. Upon returning home I could still see calluses/dry skin and the whole reason I pay $70 for a pedicure is so someone to buff/scrape my skin until it's baby soft. She used an electronic buffer instead of a pumice stone/sponge like I've had before. Technology is not always better. There was also nail polish on my skin near my big toe that she did not wipe away/clean up. The new remodel looks beautiful and the customer service was much improved. I absolutely love nails first! My mom and I come here all the time. I'm excited to come back soon. Everyone is always so friendly and kind and polite. I've been going to Nails 1st for over 20 years since moving to Eagan. Chau and Coung are amazing but they no longer own the business and they don't even work there anymore :( Since new owners took over the prices skyrocketed and they are very pushy trying up sell customers to add services or buy a membership. Nails 1st used to feel like home, but not anymore, so very sad! Will not be going back. read more

My husband and I have gone here for years. I am excited for the new owners. The place looks beautiful with the new remodeling they've done, great job! The owners and staff were really nice and professional. They did a great job with our pedicures. Their prices are comparable to other shops in Eagan. We will be continuing to go here, they made us feel so comfortable and we had a great experience. I wish the new owners much continued success. The man who did my nails was very nice, but tried to blame the outcome on my choice in color, length of nail, etc. I told him at the very beginning if he felt he couldn't do it that it was fine. Desperately needed a mani pedi and didn't have an appointment anywhere. Called and then walked in and sat right down at 4:30 on Friday. Tech was very friendly with limited English but I never felt like anyone was talking about me in Vietnamese. She also didn't pressure me for any additional services and the massage was great. I will not ever go back here I advise you take my advice and stay away too. I called this nail salon in hopes of getting in for a manicure and pedicure and I spoke with a young lady at first and she started to tell me that they were very busy, stuttered told me to hold on and very shortly after that an older lady got on the phone and said that she could easily accommodate. I was very Excited because it was very last minute for me as I work two jobs and have a very busy schedule. When I arrived I asked the nail technician a few questions about how I should take care of my feet because I've been having trouble keeping them smooth he didn't give me any advice at all, which was a red flag because that is a pert of their job, but I let him continue the service anyway. I've had the same issue with my big toenails breaking in a certain spot for a very long time and other establishments for as long as I've been getting pedicures have been able to take care of it, without it chipping off nail polish, or breaking it, however within THREE DAYS, my nail polish is chipping, both on my toes and my fingers and it's GEL POLISH. I called back once I noticed the chipping, and expressed my concern but the lady who was on the phone placed all the blame on me because I have a broken toenail, but that doesn't explain my broken fingernails does it? I was going go back for the fix because the service was not cheap but I won't go back to this establishment ever again. It was not kept clean, There was no Epsom salt or soaking solution in my pedicure water and he did a terrible job on my French pedicure and the design on my nails is bogus! If you're looking for quick and sloppy service this is your place. read more

I went to Nails First in Eagan, MN a couple weeks ago with a friend. We both got powder dip manicures. I will never go back. Despite asking for thinner layers, the manicure was very thick and started catching as my nails grew. Also, within a week, both of us had multiple nails chip and/or fall off completely. They make sure that the nails are done perfect and take great care with the cleanliness (which I have found not to be the case in other nail salons in Eagan). Just like any nail shop its hit and miss when it comes to the nail tech. I think I've have them all do my nails at least once. The best (to me) are Kim and Mary. Two different styles or work but hard workers very detailed. If you're in a hurry don't go to them. They are damn near perfectionist... in a good way. This place is great! The woman who removed my (terrible and well overdue) nails and did my new gel nails was FANTASTIC; She was very meticulous and paid great attention to detail. I've had two excellent services here with lovely, professional staff. Tonight, I had a gel manicure from the male working at the front desk. When I asked him to re-file three of my nails to make them level, he seemed exasperated. Then, during the manicure, he did not paint all of my nails down to the bed/cuticle, leaving gaps. When I asked if he could do so, he said loudly "that is not my fault! I can't put the polish too close to the skin"; it was not close to TE skin. Finally, when I asked for the polish around my nails to be removed, he started scraping it with his nail after telling me they don't do that. His rude, dismissive behavior when I calmly asked for reasonable completion of a service was different from other service I have received here, but was bad enough that I won't go back. read more
