However, we passed this nail salon, and I decided to take a chance on a walk in. Stopped in and yes, they could accommodate me right away. This place is quite busy with a lot of employees and nail stations. The gal who was going to do my nails brought over a color wheel of choices. And I found a color similar to the one I'd been using. In no time at all, the polish change occurred and I was sitting drying my nails in front of a small fan. She did a pretty good job. Although, anything would have been an improvement. Their prices are a few dollars more than what I am used to, but since it was a pre-holiday weekend, I didn't quibble. The gal doing my nails was efficient and professional, but didn't try to engage me in conversation -- I'm not sure of her English abilities even. In any case, I was glad I took a chance and stopped here. Exactly what I needed for a boost.

What truly made our visit exceptional, however, was Nataly. Nataly's attention to detail is impeccable. She was meticulous, patient, and genuinely committed to making sure everything was perfect. You can immediately tell when someone takes pride in their craft, and Nataly absolutely does. What impressed me even more was the care she extended to my daughter. She was incredibly attentive, warm, and made her feel completely comfortable and special throughout the experience. We landed on apres. The nail tech was rushing through the whole service and applied almost every tip on my left hand crooked. I asked him to fix it and I was able to fix most of them by filing but had to redo the whole application for my index finger. Upon further inspection I noticed the nail length on my left and right hands were way different so again I had to ask the tech to fix it. This whole time I'm waiting to see if my cuticles will be addressed but I didn't say anything because I've never had the service before and didn't know at what point it would be done in the process. The service ends and my cuticles weren't touched and I was so confused but at this point I had been there so long and felt like I was babysitting the tech the whole time (he seemed so annoyed with me but I don't want to nag and I'm sure he doesn't want to be nagged so some more attention to detail would've been appreciated) so I just wanted to leave. I go to the front and I asked if cuticle work wasn't included on services anymore. He informed me that it's an extra add-on I should've asked for because it's not typically included for any service besides regular manicure and gel manicure. So then I said they should let people know this if they're new to the service and then the front desk guy starts arguing with me about how I should have asked. How would I know to ask if that's typically the standard for most services? He continues to go back and forth with me (which is ridiculous and insane) and I eventually had to just cut him off and say can I just pay and leave I'm not going to argue with you anymore. So I paid and left really annoyed. As soon as I left I looked up if cuticle work is typically done with apres and IT IS. I'll attach the screenshot. If they're going to charge more for cuticle work whatever but you have to let people know if that's something specific to your salon. Overall super disappointing experience especially because this has been my all-time favorite nail salon for like 8 or 9 years. Even when I lived out of state, I made it a point to always come get my nails done here when I visited. I've recommended this place to countless people over the years and I'm honestly sad at the service and attitude I received today.

I was visiting from out of town and had limited time in the area so I appreciated them accommodating me on short notice. The technician who started my service was very kind, but she mentioned a few times that she wasn't feeling well. Out of concern, I told her she could skip the polish and stop early. Later, I regretted that decision and called back to see if I could return to have the polish applied. The receptionist was not particularly friendly, but eventually agreed I could come back the next day, Sunday. When I returned, the overall vibe was a bit off. The receptionist and the new technician seemed cold, and it felt like there may have been some internal discussion about the situation. Nonetheless, the service was completed. Unfortunately, by today, Monday (7/14), the polish on one of my toenails has already chipped, which is frustrating so soon after the appointment. When I used to live in Miami Lakes and when I come to visit, I typically go to the other location by Veterans Park and see Magalys, and I've always had great experiences with her. They were unfortunately booked for the rest of the weekend. While I've had consistently positive experiences at their other location, this visit was disappointing by comparison.

( my busy schedule had me cancel my nail appointment) So I knew right away Pretty Nails will save the day. They have about 20 tables available for nail techs. Honestly I have always been seen without that much of a wait. ( I do suggest go early morning) They have like 3 different polish brands from what I could see. They have almost every color in the book. (Regular and Gel) The service is done fast and it's not sloppy! The pedi chair has a massage function. They put a warm blanket on your feet with the pedi! They do offer face waxing. I tried it out for the 1st time with them since I was short in time. She left them nice. But I was sensitive to their wax product. I had a horrible red rash. ( thank godness for makeup) It's a day later and I'm still red. So if you have sensitive skin... maybe think about it. ( especially if u have a special occasion that same day) If you like a specific nail tech you can make advanced appointments as well.
