She shapes my nails exactly how I like them, improving the appearance of my short fingers, making them look longer and more feminine. My arthritic hands used to hurt for a couple days after getting my nails done, but Lyn is so careful she never causes me pain. After several years of frequenting this salon for pedicures, I finally gave the gel manicure a shot. I've been doing this since November '11 and I'm a fan. No more chipping or fading after just a few days. I stretch my manicures out to 3 weeks and the only issue is no polish on new nail growth. The original manicure still looks good. I've usually been able to stretch pedicures to 3 weeks, also, without it looking bad. And while I was always happy with the service regardless of the tech, I now make appointments with Violet. When my favorite manicurist left my neighborhood salon and her successors provided subpar service, I decided to give Nails for You a try and I haven't been disappointed: -Walk-ins during the week are a snap -The staff are professional, friendly, and very meticulous -Prices are clearly laid out in a nice take-away brochure I agree with other reviewers that the staff are very quiet--perhaps the quietest I've encountered at any nail place. The gels are so amazing - even after 3 weeks of a use, they polish up like jewels with a little mineral oil. Four months straight going to this location! Nancy is always a favorite of mine but I think I found someone even better! Loann made my nails look the best it's ever been. I really appreciated her asking if I am rough with my hands so she added an extra coat of SNS. I type on keyboards all day and I also wait on tables so I need my nails to be as strong as it can get. SNS also helps me save some $$ since they make your nails hard as rocks. I go in about every three/four weeks rather than every two weeks. This place was amazing! I have been having a lot of problems with my feet so when I entered I told the staff that I needed someone to give me a pretty intense massage on my feet. Well, needless to say, I fell asleep in the chair! The specialist made my legs and feet feel 110% better! Even with my manicure, everything was done maticulously and beatifully. Came here in the fall for a pedicure which was mediocre and overpriced. The nail drying station was disgusting there were crumbs and grapes all over the hand dryer and on the floor. Today I was desperate for a gel removal so I stopped in again. The male receptionist was on his cell phone having a (clearly) personal conversation. Had a regular manicure and liked it. What gives it a 4 star is their service- they close at 5pm on Sunday's but they were still willing to take me in, when I showed up at 5. The girl who did my nails did a good job- just wished she cut my nails evenly so all my nails were relatively the same size. But overall I'm content with my manicure. I came to Nails for You because I wanted to try out the SNS/dip powder manicure. Loann was my nail tech and she did a fabulous job! I highly recommend her. She is careful with her work and I walked away extremely pleased. My SNS manicure lasted four weeks without any chips or issues, and I could have gone a bit longer. I have always gotten gel manicures but now I think SNS is the way to go! Did not damage my nails either. The only reason I am not giving this place five stars is because I think their prices are a bit higher than where I used to go for other nail services (regular mani, pedi, gel). Left in tears. If I could give zero stars that would still be too kind. I was so excited to come here and try SNS manicure the first time I even told them while booking on the phone it was my first time there and to try SNS. When I showed up I checked in with the front desk guy and said it was my first time there. When I sat down with Stephanie I said, I'm so exited this is my first time getting SNS! I also mentioned my cuticles needed a lot of help and that I liked my nails round. She trimmed them only a bit because I asked her to keep the length (my nail whites were past my finger tips) and filed them. When I looked down they were square, so I had to tell her again, no I wanted round. After the layering of the powder and gel polish we finally got to my favorite part the cuticles. I thought it was odd she was doing anything with my cuticles after the polish but I trusted her process. My friend was getting SNS next to me and I watched how they put her nails in a bag with soap to get them soft. Instead Stephanie put a dab of soap on then cut my cuticles, barely. My normal nail girl (which now I totally regret cheating on her for this lousy place) fills up her cuticle tool with so much of my cuticles that she has to wipe it off after every couple nails, but Stephanie barely had anything after doing both hands. She also kept filing down my nails and then again and again until they couldn't be filed anymore and reached the shortest max. I was feeling bummed about that. At the end I had to tell her my skin was stuck to my nail and if she could separate them, she tried on 2 nails and said it was good, it wasn't. I also told her I wasn't happy with the cuticles and she just cut the same part she did before ignoring the area I kept pointing to. I watched my friend get a shoulder, then arm and hand rub. I got my shoulder rub but it was over after that. I was so upset when I was checking out, the front desk guy said $50 I paid and even left a tip. That's all he said to me and I left. I stood there with my friend, we couldn't believe how horrible they looked. So I went back in and said, actually I'm really upset: my skin is stuck to my nails, my cuticles look awful, my nails have been filed to a nub and I didn't even get a hand massage. He said oh, yeah, ok, oh and I asked if someone could fix that. I asked if he was proud of how they looked and if this is the quality they do. I mentioned that he didn't even ask me how my experience was or if I liked it or anything he said "well you didn't say anything when you were up here so I didn't." Really? Who's the customer and who's the employee? When I got home he called my cell phone and said he would be willing to offer "someone to fix it for free" if I wanted to come back. No thank you. So, I wasted 1.5 hours $50+ my nails, cuticles and skin look awful and I'm really upset....great experience right? read more

I never really noticed how great they are until today, when I had my nails done at another nail place, where they did a subpar job and I started to think about how I have never really been pleased with my nails unless I go to Nails For You. My favorite nail tech is STACY she is, without a doubt the BEST! Getting an appointment with her is a challenge, she is always booked. .. because she is the best I also really like NANCY. I really like how they include the leg and foot rub and scrub with their regular fees, others salons don't do that. These girls work really hard and they definitely deserve good tips. This was my second time trying Nails For You. The first time was 2 years ago it was uneventful by I was happy with my experience. I decided to try it out on the recommendation of my friend. I had an appointment and I got their early. It was a busy day, which is fine I get that, and I really didn't mind waiting. What I did mind was being rushed in my appointment. I was getting a regular manicure and wasn't too thrilled with the color I chose. So when I asked to try a different color the manicurist was visibly annoyed and rushed saying she had other customers. So I picked another color which again I wasn't very thrilled with either. What bothered me the most about this appointment was I had asked (before even beginning) and showed a picture of the design I wanted. Simple design. Like super simple. Literally just a line of gold polish down the nail. And I showed a picture. They only had glitter polish (not solid gold like I wanted) but fine, whatever make it work. By this time the manicurist was getting so FRUSTRATED she just threw some random not neat lines on my nails. She had left to start her other customer which again I didn't mind because they were busy. But what I did mind is she did the polish job in such a rush and even for the top coat she did a terrible job applying it. I relived the polish a few days later and did t myself which I was MUCH happier with. Overall - salon is nice and the actual manicure part was fine enough. Nails for you is definitely for you! Was forced to go there with the girlfriend. Honestly, great clean place with your typical funny Asians. Had my feet done and left there feeling fresh. Felt bad for the person doing my feet but they did a heck of a job. Guy at the front desk who seems like a true DC sports fan was real cool. Very helpful, knew what he was doing and was not a FOB. BTW I'm Asian, so this should not disrespect anyone. Idk if I will ever need their service again but I would only go there. I have been going to Nails for You as a very loyal customer, appointments every two weeks, for over a year now. I have three friends that I referred here and they also have become loyal customers. The last two visits have left me disappointed to where I am looking for a new nail salon. The last visit I came in with SNS that Nails for You had done exactly two weeks before, I wanted to switch up and get Gel Manicure. Not only was I charged for my Gel manicure but I was also charged $10 for them to remove my SNS. I have had this Gel Manicure for less than two days now and three fingers are already chipped. My second to last visit I went in for SNS. While doing the SNS the lady could not get the final top coat to dry so it kept leaving a dull finish with what appeared to be indentions from the tissue that she kept rubbing on my nail to see if the top coat was dry. The final set was awful. They were super thick from the multiple layers of top coat she kept putting on my nails to see if it would ever dry. They never fully dried and they were left dull with marks of tissue. I complained to her before I left and she stated she would re-do them if they didn't look better after I left. I also told the person at the front counter my complaints. I called the next day to let them know that they looked the same, horrible and I wanted them to fix them. I went in, they took off the SNS and recommended I get Gel Manicure since I didn't like how thick the SNS was. I explained it's never been that thick it was only thick because she applied multiple top coats when it wouldn't dry. They never refunded me for my ruined SNS that I wore for less than 24 hours; and then CHARGED me for the Gel Manicure. While at first I did love Nails For You, I find it to be disheartening that they do not take care of their loyal customers. I understand that "it's just a nail salon" but; when you are dealing with customer service and people paying for a service, it should be great, if not perfect. read more

Nails For You is conviently located in Seven Corners Shopping Center. I've been here several times and the front desk clerk is always professional upon entering the salon. The staff is another topic. I went to have my acrylic nails professionally removed and replaced. TRACEY was the nail technician assigned to me. She appeared to not speak much but that's not much of an expectation for me. She began to use the motorized nail burr to take my acrylic off. After the acrylic appeared low to my nail bed she took out the case of false nails and used one to pry the acrylic from my nails. I immediately pulled my nail back in pain since I felt my nail pulling. She stood up as if she was irritated and prepared a bowl of warm acetone remover for me to soak my nails. This should have been TRACEYS first move! She continued to pry at this one nail with the artificial nail. I told her that what she was doing hurt. She used the burr instead and buffer then told me to wash my hands. I carefully looked at my nails and TRACEY somehow managed to tear my nail bed. I brought this to her attention. She never apologized but began to speak to her work neighbor in her native language. I immediately told her to trim my nails and cancel reapplying the acrylic nails since my nail bed was torn. After she completed the shabby work on my nails, I spoke with the young man at the front desk about my experience. He was very kind, apologetic and refused to accept payment although I insisted on paying. I appreciate his acknowledgement of TRACEYS SHITTY WORK. I will no longer go to this salon after this experience. Unfortunately, TRACEY killed it. read more

I really hate giving mediocre or bad reviews to any business and it took me over 3 weeks since I've been to this place to actually take time out and write this review. I've been going to nails for you for all my nail needs for a couple of years now because it was highly recommended. I'm not a frequent mani pedi person so I'm not a regular but regardless I'm a customer who is paying for a good service. I called to schedule a full acrylic set and pedi appointment. Over the phone I stated i typically get gel however my nails are short and I would like to get acrylic set (1st time) and requested I get someone good. The receptionist recommended Stephanie. We started with the Pedi, which was going well until I requested a design on my big toe and I requested something with gold and she grabbed silver. I showed her a picture of what I wanted ( 4 crisscrossing diagnosed lines) instead she drew a checkerboard of multiple lines. So we said forget it. When it came to my hands - again after showing her a picture of what I wanted which was a simple design on the ring finger. She said no, she couldn't do it. Also, she filed my nails so hard on the sides that it cut my skin and was sore for a few days after. I still tipped Stephanie but as I walked out I stated to the guy at the reception desk of how I didn't appreciate that the tech couldn't do a simple design and felt that there was poor communication. Instead of apologizing he defended the tech ( poor customer service). Ultimately, 3 weeks into having my acrylic nails. I sought out a different salon to have them removed. The guy looked at my nails and multiple times stated the nails were too thick, which I later confirmed by looking at my co-workers nails. Again, I really hate giving low stars or bad reviews to any business but I would recommend that Nails For You pay attention to their customer's needs.
