I have gone to nail tech many times. I even purchase gift certificates from there for others for any occasion or holiday. unfortunately, today's experience has impacted my decision to never return to this nail salon. initially I planned to get shellac and a manicure, but after the tech filed down my nails so much, I decided against it. my nails were already thin from the shellac that was previously on it, yet she filed so aggressively that my nails hurt to the touch. Not to mention she over-clipped my cuticles: two fingers were bleeding and they were red and swollen. I was still very nice and polite, thinking she was possibly new to doing nails. I asked to just get a regular manicure instead the tech gave me quite the attitude and was extremely pushy trying to get me to go with the shellac. I was really offended, and she STILL kept pushing the shellac on me. she didn't even use lotion. before I paid, the manager asked me if everything was alright. I explained the situation. his apology was pathetic and seemed very insincere. all he said was "sorry" nonchalantly. he didn't even make eye contact with me! he didn't even me anything!!!! not even a band-aid. the only thing he did do was make me pay full price. what's even more pathetic is that I had to go to another PROFESSIONAL salon. they said my cuticles were VERY overdone, my nails were paper thin, and that I shouldn't get shellac for a couple weeks. the professionalism in this salon is laughable. I am so disgusted and would never pay 20 dollars for them to do my nails in such a sorry way again. read more

I've gone to this establishment for two years and have always experienced excellent service. However, the past two visits have not been positive, to say the least. This evening I went in today to have my SNS removed and have a gel manicure. I was asked why I didn't want to do SNS today as I typically do. I was wrapped in acetone for approximately 10 minutes and then was to see Will for my manicure. Just as Will was to begin, I was asked to change manicurists. I was moved to the other end of the salon to work with Megan. My prior experience with Megan was not the best but I thought I'd give her another chance (worked very fast, chit-chat and seemed unfocused during manicure, did not trim cuticles). I waited for Megan to prep another client and then she moved over to work with me. Once she was ready, Megan immediately got out her dremmel tool and started shaving away at the SNS nail polish. Similar to my previous experience with Megan, she seemed to be in a hurry and was distracted by chatting with her colleagues. I'm not sure if Megan realized that she was shaving my actual nail or not but she shaved so much that she nearly shaved my nail down to the skin. I jumped back from the pain and Megan apologized but kept shaving away. I told Megan that she was working with my real nail and not tips. She said, "Oh!" and that she understood but continued to shave away. More clients entered the building and Megan seated them. I asked her not to shave any more of my nail down when finally a male manicurist came over to check my nail. He said something to Megan in Vietnamese and she then wrapped all of my nails in acetone, once again. Needless to say, I let the solution set for a few minutes then I took off the wrap. I offered to pay for their service of taking off the SNS polish; however, they said that I would not need to pay. I do not plan to return to this nail salon. They are very busy and do not allot the appropriate amount of time to spend with their clients. I gave this establishment 3 stars based on my overall experiences there. read more

I am not one to leave a review so I really hate to do this. I have been a customer here for years and have always had a wonderful experience and have referred many friends and coworkers to this salon. I got SNS done here not even 1 week ago. 5 of my nails are cracked and one is completely split. I called to ask what I can do about this, this has never happened to me and I have not done any activities that would cause this much damage. The woman who answered originally said they would fix my nails free of charge, then spoke with her boss and he said I would have to pay full price to have them redone. She explained that when SNS is too "thin" it will crack. I never asked for them to be thin! They didn't even offer a discounted price or anything. In the past when I have gotten SNS there, it has lasted over 3 weeks. This is so disappointing. The first time I got SNS was the month before, when I referred an entire bridal party I was with to go to this salon. They were beautiful and lasted so long. I understand that they can't be perfect every time, but I can't believe nothing was offered to help resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I won't be back and can no longer recommend. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!! I literally wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. I had an apt at 1:45pm. Didn't leave until 5:05pm!!My finger is throbbing and is starting to look infected. The blood was literally rolling down my finger while they were filing my nails. During a normal manicure your cuticle should be pushed back but not entirely ripped off until your fingers bleed! That is a very easy way to catch an infection My first nail tech messed the gel manicure up completely and had to take ALL of it off. And then I had a new nail artist who made my already bleeding cuticles bleed even more! I told her to stop cutting my cuticles even more because there was barely even anything left to cut. She responds with "it will keep the polish on longer"............ Never in my life have I ever been in pain leaving a nail salon before. The owner was well aware and did nothing to correct with or chime into the situation.TERRIBLE business and service and insanely OVERPRICED!!!!! 0/10 stars. read more

Do NOT go here if you are looking to get SNS dip powder done! The entire point of SNS powder is to allow you to have the look and feel of gel/acrylic without having terrible damage. As my polish started chipping away, my nails are DESTROYED. The technician who did my nails filed them down so much, and this will take forever to grow out. Additionally, he made my cuticles bleed during the process. I am down to the base layer of my fingernail on my left index finger, and it's tender and sore to the touch. Not only did the technician not know how to do SNS powder properly, but smudged my pedicure in the process with his foot. He said he "fixed it," but I left the salon with a huge smudge on my left big toe. I will not be returning, and I will not be recommending this place to anyone! read more

The salon in itself is very clean and set up nicely, however, the older guy with glasses whom I will assume is the owner, has no sense of Great Customer Service. Someone needs to teach him. When I visited the salon, Tony did my nails and he was awesome. There was also another young guy working there whom I observed doing pedicures. The guy I'm referring to stood at the front of the store greeting people, however, I had an issue in which I'm choosing to not go into detail about, however, as a paying customer whom attempted to resolve the issue with him in a respectful manner, the man was rude, and told me "You need to make up your mind what you want." As an owner/ employee of a salon, that is NOT how a customer should be spoken to. As someone whom values Exemplary Customer Service, although Tony did a great job on my nails, due to the Owner/ Manager (older man with glasses) of this salon, I will only go back to this salon as a LAST Resort. I will never in my life come back to this shop. I've been 3-4 times and each time I walk out wondering why I returned. My main issue is how painful the experience generally is. I get SNS, but regardless they clip cuticles and aren't generally careful about it (I.e., I bleed). This past time I went, the tech used a KNIFE like you would use to paint to REMOVE THE POLISH. It felt like my nail bed was going to come right off. That's just careless and impatient. Mind you, I didn't show up at closing time -- I was there at least an hour before closing time. Been going to this nail salon since I moved to Winston-Salem (about 3 years ago). I've had various technicians and they've all done an EXCELLENT job!! This place is great for anything you want! Pedicures are relaxing and thorough and you can be as indulgent or as 'bare bones' as you want with them, my last SNS manicure stayed put for about a month, and last but not least they keep my eyebrows on fleek! ;) Seriously. Im not the type to leave yelp reviews but the owner got me heated and I'm gonna rant. I've gotten SNS full set done here 3 times, the first 2 were great especially when I got my first set done by Vincent. My recent set not so much. I got a SNS set with a tip done by a someone new and I should have known they weren't gonna last by the way he was applying the tips; TWO tips broke off while he was doing my nails and he had to do both over again. Two days later One nail broke off while I was scratching my thigh, this is the first time in my life that a nail has broken just after a fresh set, very upsetting. I immediately went to the shop again and they took FOREVER I went home to take a shower and came back and they did my nail for free. Not even ONE hour later I broke TWO more nails, I was IRRITATED. I didn't even get to go get them fixed until a couple days later because I pulled three 12 hour shifts. I went back Friday morning and the owner had the audacity to tell ME how I broke MY nails. I kept trying to tell him I didn't break them at work and the tips were applied poorly. And he kept trying to tell me he KNOWS how I broke them and the tips don't matter that I have had to break them with force. Very ignorant. THEY BROKE BECAUSE THE TIPS WEREN'T ON CORRECTLY. I'm not angry with the nail tech, I'm angry at the owner trying to tell me how I broke my nails. But anyways I got those TWO fixed, wrong color but I didn't care anymore. And now TODAY, TWO MORE BROKE :) So in total FIVE NAILS HAVE BROKEN ON ME. today it was my right thumb and right pointer finger and I didn't even realize :) Never coming here again ima stick with Nails palace beside LA Fitness. read more

I've lived in NC for a year a half & am still searching for a quality nail salon. I'm from NJ where the competition between salons is fierce & there are many 5 star salons to choose from, so adjusting to Winston has been difficult considering this is the 5-6th salon that has let me down. I'll start with the few positives, they have a lot of pedicure options & do a good job with the feet and calf massaging. The manager Johnny is super nice & obviously works very hard. He maintains a good attitude even when things are going horribly. Let me explain, I made a 12:15 appointment. I arrive on time & am greeted by Johnny immediately, then signed in for my pedicure & acrylic fill in appointment. After a few minutes of convincing, Johnny talked me into switching to SNS for my nails. I immediately got taken back to a massage chair & a young lady began my pedicure. When that was done she took me to a nail station and although my acrylics were popping off & half broken, she trimmed them & removed the gel polish - as though I was still getting them filled. (Couldn't she have just used those fine sharp little clippers to get under where the nail was popped up & flick it right off? - the answer is yes.) She then submerged my hands in acetone to try & eat away at the acrylic - whilst drying my skin up like sand paper. she then disappears for like 20-25 minutes & I was growing VERY impatient as I was the only customer just sitting there. Eventually another employee recognized I was angry & went and got my nail tech from the back. The girl then tells me she has an appointment coming in so if they get here she's not going to finish my nails and I'll be waiting for ANOTHER tech to finish what they're doing to come finish mine. Even though I TOO had an appointment. She then tells me to continue to soak my fingers & I can feel them dehydrating rapidly at this point. Of course her appointment shows up & she leaves me soaking in acetone for now 45 minutes. So I start to peel off my own acrylic nails - knowing that had she just worked on them with a rough file & clippers they could be off in 15 minutes. Finally Johnny was finished with his customer & hurried to take care of me. As much as I appreciate his efforts, after a full hour of soaking my fingers in acetone & they're now cracked, bleeding and extremely sore... and all of the employees kept telling me I HAD TO SOAK THEM LONGER when I've had my acrylics removed numerous times in the past for sports or work and never once in the 13 years I've been getting acrylic nails did I ever have to submerge my hands in acetone for more than 10-15 minutes. More often I didn't have to do it at all. It was obvious this girl just didn't feel like doing it so she wasted time avoiding me until her appointment got there so she would have a valid reason to leave me hangin. If I everrrrrrr return here for ANY service, it will have to be Johnny doing it, other than that I'm not really interested. For the price that I paid for these services I should not leave there livid, in pain, and with an entire 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon of my only day off wasted sitting with my hands in acetone staring at the wall. I get my nails done to pamper myself and relax, make my day better. This experience certainly did not do that. The only reason there are 2 stars is bc Johnny did a good job and my nails look great - the only reason I bled was because they were so dry. So if you go here you'll walk out with nice looking nails & feet but you may want to clear your schedule for the rest of the day and remove your nails prior to your appointment. read more

On the technical side my mani pedicure is wonderful. On a personal side I can't say that I had the same pleasant experience. For starters I had three different ladies. One who did my eyebrows. The second one who did my pedicure and then guided me to the table to have them dry. I came for a mani pedi and she didn't bother to ask me. My friends who came along with me for the same service, actually let the other one know what I'm here for. So she sat me on a different spot and not next to my friend as I had requested. I ended up with a third person doing my manicure. So how my going to tip these ladies? separately? I don't think so. As far as I'm concerned I wasn't very happy . Half the experience is that people are helpful and ask question to ensure good service. None of which was the case. It felt like on a conveyor belt or take a number kind of situation. Even the cashier was busy answering and texting on his phone rather than giving the clients his full attention. Communication doesn't seem to be a very big thing there. I wanted to try a new place for a pedicure today and decided on Nails Tech Salon. I should have stuck with my normal place in High Point but did not want to make the drive. A "deluxe" pedicure was $40 and the "standard" was $25. My normal place charges $28-32 for a deluxe pedicure and they do an amazing job and take their time. I opted for the "standard" because I did not want to spend $40 + tip on a pedicure. Let's just say the experience was below standard. I will not be going back. The guy also seemed to have an attitude that I did not pick the "deluxe" pedicure and kept trying to talk to me into a manicure, as well. Disappointed! read more

I had an appointment for a shellac manicure but last minute decided on a pedicure as well. As busy as they were being 2 days before Christmas they gladly made it no big deal. Kathy is one of my favorites but have never been disappointed by anyone who has done my nails. Color choices are awesome. Prices are good. Staff is wonderful and you can even have a glass of wine during your appointment. Salon is very clean. Johnny the owner is over the top friendly and accommodating. He definitely takes pride in his business. I would highly recommend going to Nails Tech for any of the services they provide!!! read more

Just left this place. Took one of my children that has some development challenges and was completely ignored the entire time! The nail tech barely spoke, the atmosphere was tense.. there was a guy there that tried to "up sell" us. But, we politely declined. After we declined the service.... we were completely ignored! No one even spoke when we left! Had to go back in to grab the reciept, and AGAIN when my child asked for a lollipop they ignored and barely spoke. Completely silent service. Great facility, seemed liked a good idea! We were wrong. The only reason I'm taking the time out to write the review is because on the way home...my child stated how mean they were to her! The facility and atmosphere are very pleasant and clean. The manicure or pedicure itself is very neat, meticulously done, no complaints. However, every time I have been harassed to get a more expensive manicure or pedicure. I would simply say, "no, thank you, just a regular" and they would persist in asking me why I didn't want an upgrade, and then continue to ask me why my toenails were so short/the condition of my feet or fingers, etc. Bottom line, no complaints about the end result, but I would appreciate no harassment or offenses taken if all I desire is a regular, non-shellac manicure. read more

I went to this place a little late not knowing it's about to close in an hour or so to get SNS nails, so when they were doing the tool that spins with like sharp edges, they were going really fast and barley caring. So the next day, I was washing my hands, and while the soap were on my hands, my fingers were starting to sting really bad from when they were doing my nails. Not only that, my nails even LOOKED like that they didn't have any pride or something. I even had blood on my hands after the appointment. But on the only bright side, it is very affordable and I now know why. Oh, and one more thing, when I picked out my color, the next day I realized that they flowed in the dark, with them not even telling me. Was in town for an interview and had some gold shellac nails that needed to be cleaned up. I was very pleasantly surprised by how much attention to detail was given to me. I think my nail appointment was over an hour between removing my old shellac and putting on some more interview-appropriate nail color , and a very nice hand and upper arm massage. My daughter and I frequently get pedicures at Nails Tech. After several visits of getting the more expensive "menu" pedicures, I overheard another customer say she just wanted a "regular" pedicure. I did not know that was an option, but now I know and that is all I get. The pedicures are as good or better than anywhere else in town. My only complaint is how pushy they are trying to get you to buy other services. On my most recent visit, I was asked several times if I wanted a manicure also. I only wanted a "regular" pedicure, but they were very persistent which did make my experience somewhat less enjoyable. read more

I stopped in this afternoon for an SNS manicure--and I was not disappointed! I was immediately seated and Leon began working on my nails. It was definitely not quick, but he was absolutely meticulous, making sure each nail was evenly filed. The result: the best SNS manicure I've ever had! Some have been thick and almost suffocating (don't know how to describe that feeling, or if that makes sense at all) but this is super thin and looks like a Shellac manicure, but has the extra strength that SNS gives.
