The first couple of visits have been great. The only two issue I have is that they assume that I will tip a certain amount and that the workers are switched out all the time midway. I've had my nails done here a few times and can honestly say I've had no issues. I usually ask for Joanna who is typically available but in the past, other techs did a reasonably good job to where I had no issues returning. The decor in the establishment is bright, clean and inviting. Yes, the services can be a little pricy but I find in this day, everywhere appears to be. Two ladies I favor do amazing pedicures! I never get my my nails done here at all. Being that I was overdue for a full set at my preferred place... I got them done here by my fav pedi lady. She did my nails great however I broke one days later. I got it redone elsewhere bc trying to get the same person for a repair is impossible and timely. I broke another one today just pulling my hair back. Annoyed I snapped all of them off and it was slicing butter. The one nail I got fixed elsewhere is night and day per nail tip quality. I've been going to this salon off and on and ppl are always complaining about broken nails. The quality of the nails they provide are cheap!!! In addition - the owner Mimi is rude and nasty. She is unprofessional, a narcissist, and controlling. You are not allowed to talk to your nail tech until being serviced. She has no level of professional management at all. All her employees look controlled, it's sad actually. Mimi needs to work on her attitude. She also needs a hairstylist, wardrobe makeover, a trim, and new glasses. I'm giving three stars based on my friends experience and mine. We come and service was fast not a lot of people were in today so that was a PLUS! My cousin Britt had requested an overlay on the tip of her toes so she could have them shaped properly and the woman kept insisting she could only do it if she applied the acrylic on her whole big toe (see the photo of the pink toes) I had a great experience my nails and feet (red, came out great) and my friend nails came out just the way she wanted! She asked for a white outer triangle which was done sloppily and when I asked another nail tech if she could fix the MINOR error she said she couldn't since she didn't do them so the woman who did her nails had to stop her current client to fix. Also I didn't like the fact that the bathroom has all these chemicals in it and the scent was STRONG. the chemicals were literally sitting on a measuring cup so the scent was RIDICULOUSly strong and bothering. read more

I went to this nail Salon for three years. I only went for the nail tech named Sandy. She's amazing. I stopped going last year because the owner Mimi is so rude. She allows you to make an appointment but you're more than likely to be seen 45 minutes later. She talks about customers as soon as they leave. She is always yelling at her employees and she's just an overall nasty person. However, I really missed Sandy. She's great with nails. So I called to make an appointment with her. Mimi told me she moved very far away from this location and doesn't work here anymore. Then I texted Sandy and she told me she is now located at Pretty Nails which is literally 2 minutes away from this location. I recommend Pretty Nails! Sandy now has her own shop. read more

Imagine me going in for a Fullset and pedicure . I advise the owner I want Mindy to do my nails but it doesn't matter who does my pedicure . Mindy was doing a customers nails when I walked in so it worked out. At the END of my pedicure Mindy walks over to me and says your gonna have to wait until after I finish this lady that JUST SAT DOWN! Five STAR service every single time! I am usually the 1st appointment of the day on Saturday or Sunday, even without an appointment. I wait in my car until my nail tech arrives, follows her in and I'm serviced. Consistency is key when it comes to me! I only engage with friendly faces - no need to ruin my morning with agitation on any level. My nail tech is patient and she listens to understand my request, if she doesn't understand, together we figure it out. Since I had surgery 2 weeks ago and cannot bend over for 6 weeks, I figure might as well get them done since I'm going to the beach tomorrow. I had a nail to break after a few days and needed it fixed. I went to the shop on a Sunday, and several people walked out due to her attitude. I stayed for a while, after she told me that I had to wait. Again, the way she said it was rude. I left to run some errands, so I didn't go back until Monday. I explained to Mimi what I needed. She got smart again saying that I had to wait. I understand that there may be a wait, but I refuse to let anyone talk to me in that tone. And the shop was empty. Having a splendid time at Nails Today. My friend recommended this place and it has been a great experience so far. I received the Champagne and Rose pedicure ($50). It includes a champagne scrub, additional 15min leg massage, and parrafin wax. My technicians name was Vivian. She was very thorough and attentive. I would recommend her. The atmosphere is very nice. This is the worst nail salon in the area. I went in and asked for a soak-off for my gel manicure and to get it done again. First the guy that helped me tried to use the electric grinder on my nails and I told him no, I want a soak off. He moved me to the back seat and stuck my hands in a bowl of acetone. Then the lady that sits in the first chair on the left asked me to come over to her. She tried to use the grinder on me again. I had to argue with her to get her to stop asking me. First off, I'm NEVER in Baltimore, but I came up for a wedding this weekend and decided to hang out with a friend and that's why I stuck around. Anywho, I really needed to get my nails done and didn't want to do it in DC (especially since I thought the prices would be better (read: cheaper) in Baltimore). Moving along...I got a sugar scrub pedicure and a gel manicure. Julie was my manicurist and she did a fantastic job! I don't think my feet have been this soft since I was a baby and my manicure came out great! She scrubbed and rubbed the hell out of my feet! I feel like for everything that she did (scrub, callous remover, massage), I would have paid significantly more in the district. It's only been 3 weeks since I've had a pedicure, but she did such a meticulous job, more so than others have done. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I came here else I would have gone somewhere else. I usually don't write reviews but I just wanted everyone to know that the nail technicians in there told me that poor quality is their standard. I got a gel manicure done & within 2 hours the paint started to chip and lift. I wanted to go back the same day but they were closed and I couldn't go back because I live 45 min away. Within 3 days, the polish on both of my thumb nails were hanging by a thread I had to put on bandaids to prevent it from coming off until I could return but they ended up coming off anyway. When I got a chance to return the nail techs were unfazed. I showed them a video of my peeling nails (screenshots posted) and they basically told me that happens to almost everyone. I have been going to this nail salon for about 15 years. First at Sexy Nails when both husband and wife worked there. Wife then took over Total Nails. There is good and bad about their customer service. I got my nails done by Ben on a Wednesday and Friday polish was peeling and nail broke. I went back Tuesday to show what happened and they immediately jumped down my throat telling me my acrylic old and that I was told it was before he did job. Not true. Here is my issue, Ben was so rude to me!!! He angrily redid the four nails as he and a female tech spoke in their language just by their body language, I could tell they were discussing me. I visited this salon today 5/15/19 and was disturbed by their customers service. A customer came in to ask if someone could fix a problem that she had with her nails. NO ONE wanted to do her nails. They insisted that she either come back the next day...the actual person who did her nails was out for the day or pay for the service. She came the day before but was unsatisfied. In order to keep old customers and get new customers they should have satisfied the customers request. As a result, I will no longer return and will pass this information on to others. read more

The owner actually got nasty and began to fuss and say nasty stuff because I told her that because of the unacceptable service I would not be a customer here anymore. I use to have a great experience here but lately the customer service and cleaniness has went down! It's like all the nail techs disappeared. Now when you come in you wait for a hour or longer and the customer service is not the same. I came in on a Sunday and waited a hour before being serviced. Only to return on Tuesday for Polish repairs. I have not seen them scrub the pedicure bowl in between uses, only rise with a "blue solution". This use to be one of my favorite nail shops, so Sad how this business has changed and how the value has decreased.
