Nitta is passionate about her work and it really shows. She has and always will be a perfectionist so she absolutely takes the time needed to ensure my lashes are full, even, and adhered symmetrically. I have also been extremely happy with the fact that her lashes are without a doubt very consistent, so it's a huge relief to pay for her services where I can count on her & know exactly what I am getting. I've been a customer of Downey Nails and Lashes for nearly two years, and the nail technicians have…read morebeen phenomenal. Their work is consistently excellent, which is why I've often recommended them to friends and family. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the salon's management and front desk staff. Their scheduling and customer service are extremely disorganized, and they seem to have little regard for the customer experience. The salon routinely overbooks technicians and assigns walk-in clients to technicians who already have upcoming appointments. Despite making appointments every time I've visited, I've regularly been forced to wait 15-30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, even though I make a point of arriving early as a courtesy. My most recent experience was the final straw. I scheduled both a lash lift and an acrylic fill. When I called, the receptionist told me my lash appointment would be at 5:00 PM and my nail appointment at 6:00 PM. However, the text confirmation I received only listed a 6:00 PM appointment. On previous visits, I had been told by the front desk that appointments are not considered booked without a text confirmation, so I reasonably assumed the salon had adjusted my schedule and moved the lash appointment. When I arrived at 6:00 PM, the receptionist informed me that the text confirmation was incorrect, my lash appointment had actually been at 5:00 PM, and I had missed it. No apology was offered, nor did anyone attempt to rebook the service. I then asked if I could still proceed with my 6:00 PM nail appointment, only to be told that my nail technician would not be available for another hour. The receptionist blamed the delay on my technician's timing, which was both inappropriate and inaccurate. I've worked with the same technician for two years, and she has always been professional, efficient, and respectful of her appointment schedule. It was clear that the salon had double-booked over my appointment. Their only solution was for me to return at 7:00 PM, which was not possible given my schedule. This experience was incredibly frustrating because I genuinely love the work of the nail technicians. However, I can no longer tolerate the level of disorganization, poor communication, and lack of accountability from management. As a result, I will not be returning, and I can no longer recommend this salon to others. The business needs to get control of its scheduling and customer volume before more loyal customers have similar experiences.

From the moment I met her, she was so sweet and had such a warm, welcoming aura that immediately made me feel comfortable. Before we even started my eyebrow wax, she asked me questions about my skin and my eyebrows, which I always think is a great indicator that you're in the hands of someone who truly knows what they're doing. During one of my visits, I experienced a situation where an employee was speaking about me in another language, and it made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. Based on the interaction, I felt that I was being treated differently, and I believed there may have been racial bias involved. I brought my concerns to the owner, hoping to resolve the issue professionally. Instead, I was told that I was no longer welcome at the business because I had missed an appointment. That missed appointment occurred while my grandmother was hospitalized, and I believe the circumstances were not taken into consideration. The owner also told me that the staff had held a meeting about me, which made the situation even more upsetting. After my experience, I no longer feel comfortable supporting this business, and I wanted to share what happened so others can make their own informed decisions before choosing to go I also want to mention that a similar situation happened to my friend, who is also a person of color. Based on both of our experiences, I believe there is a pattern in how customers of color are treated. Dora was also very rude and unprofessional throughout these interactions. My father is an attorney, and he will be taking legal action regarding my experience with this business. My friends are also looking for new lash techs and will no longer support business . They just lost a lot of customers The owner reached out and is still not taking accountability. I told them that I had an issue and they never acknowledged the discrimination that I faced. She would even talk to me about her kids schooling troubles, so you're making up excuses. That was a troubling experience however I have found a salon, more professional, and the quality is way better than Moon Lash. Please take your money somewhere else. They do not acknowledge you and it is not worth it. When I shared my experience, they couldn't believe that happened. They have never had to tell a customer because of a complaint. They are no longer welcome.
