Well, I know I've posted about Sunday Brunch but I haven't had the pleasure of posting about HAPPY HOUR! From 4-6pm you can enjoy everything from salmon sliders to poutine for... $9! If you enjoy a great sip or two, you can also enjoy Classic Cocktails such as a Pineapple Daiquiri, Old Fashioned OR even a Manhattan for $10. The food is always good, the staff is effortlessly kind and the ambience DEPENDING on the time you go, is chill. However, as the weather heats up you can probably expect tables to fill faster and for your favorite dishes to run out. You've been warned. Tell em Ebbi send ya!

You're here for an answer, here it is, do it. Book the reservation, hop on the happy hour, make the date. The details, we did set a reservation, we had a blind couple date, there were supposed to be 6 of us and ended up being 4. Service was great in that, we were checked on regularly food came out at a good pace. To me this was a place that I always heard of and didn't pay much mind to, now it has been moved to a great date night spot. There were many other entrees on the menu that I want to try.

This place was great! They had a nice option for seated inside and outside. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. Our food came out in an organized manner. It definitely a place where you can wear a cuter outfit but not have to dress up too much. Our food was really good! The fries and Brussels sprouts were incredible! Our server was great too dealing with multiple checks and splitting some items

I love the eccentric vibe of this place. It's right on the corner on the very edge of CWE. You can almost miss it, but don't! We sat with reservations in the back, and got our table right away. Passing the bar, it's definitely a bar I'd love to come back and sit at to have a few drinks and relax. The food was amazing, and the tequila drinks were even better! We had a warm goat cheese appetizer - that I highly suggest along with the buffalo cauliflower. Everyone liked their food, and the service was great and very kind. Check it out!

One of St. Louis' best all-around spots -- cozy, creative, and consistently delicious! Retreat Gastropub never misses. From the small plates to the mains, everything is thoughtfully made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and tons of flavor. Their menu hits that perfect balance between comfort food and creativity -- you can tell every dish is crafted with care. The burger, salmon, pastas, Brussels sprouts, whipped feta, and brunch are all standouts, and their drinks are some of the most creative and inspired in the city -- truly one better than the next. The service is unmatched -- friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food. I've even said "surprise me" to a server before, and somehow they always pick exactly what I didn't know I was craving. It's that kind of place where they just get it. The vibe is perfect for a cozy date night or a night out with a small group (the space is intimate, so not ideal for big parties), and it always feels welcoming, relaxed, and special. We absolutely love this place -- it's the perfect mix of great food, great drinks, and even better people.

What a wonderful place! We started with the seasonal salad. Filled with so many fresh flavors! Followed by potato and leek soup - creamy deliciousness with a lovely little slice of garlicky bread. Next was the Brussel sprouts - surprisingly sweet and savory - a real unique take on this dish. Finally the steak frites. Lovely char on the steak. Our server was quick and professional. Wonderful spot!

I was told if you're looking for a good craft cocktail bar try this pub and you will not be disappointed, I'm sad to say I was disappointed. Browsing the website I found a couple of drinks that piqued my interest only to find out the menu had not been updated. With that being said it's false advertising in my opinion . Of seven drinks only one was still available which was the Corn Colada cocktail . It was just ok. Moving on i ordered the chicken sandwich meal which consisted of honey chili glaze, Gouda, slaw, housemade pickles on a brioche bun and fries. The chicken tastes boiled and the fries tasted like overcooked air fryer fries. No seasoning whatsoever on anything, just bland! Outdoor patio was an option and I did make a reservation but we opted to sit indoors considering patio was dog friendly and I'm allergic. Taylor was our server and that scored an extra star. She was friendly and attentive. I did like the dark and sultry vibes.

Guys this place was SOOOOO good! Stopped in for a bite after work while visiting St. Louis and was not disappointed. Super friendly staff and amazing food. Quick service! 12/10 will definitely come back next time I'm here. I did the farmhouse burger with brussel sprouts so yum!

10/10!! Came here for my birthday dinner and so happy we did. Retreat has a fantastic menu and the drink menu is equally great. Extremely creative and delicious! Perfect portion sizes and fair prices. The menu is like elevated bar food which is right up my alley. The atmosphere was super lively and fun on a Friday night. Great place for a date. We tried the burgers, the parm fries, the cheese dip, risotto balls, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was out of this world! 10/10 all around. And the service was fantastic and we had a table of 10. Highly recommend!!!

Another nice dinner at Retreat. Great food and drinks. No complaints. We always get the vegan brussel sprouts, some of the best in the City. I tried the vegan tacos for the first time. They were good. The black beans were seasoned well. My boyfriend loves shrimp and grits and thinks the dish is great here!

We made last minute reservations for Friday evening to get out and enjoy the weather. It's a nice and quaint restaurant that stayed very busy. We were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and service was fast and efficient. Since we were right at the end of happy hour, we ordered the Parmesan garlic fries, Fried brussel sprouts, Pineapple daiquiri, and Old Fashioned. All were wonderful but my absolute favorite was the Fried brussel sprouts. They were super flavorful and seasoned. I loved the sauce they paired with it. I would go back just for those! I also tried the Honey chili chicken wings. They were crisp but still juicy. The ranch paired with it was not good typical ranch. I liked it because it help with the spice of the wings. My husband likes a more traditional ranch. My husband ordered the Farmhouse burger but substituted the fries with the Kale Caesar salad since we already had fries. He said his burger was fantastic. The only issue he had was the difficulty keeping the top bun on. He liked the salad. The dressing was not a traditional caesar dressing but was a nice change of pace. For a second cocktail, I had a hard time choosing between the Three toed Flamingo and the Meadowlark. The waitress said she loved them both. I decided to try the Three toed Flamingo since it was a little different but it was too tart for me. My husband loved it so he drank it and I ordered the Meadowlark which I loved. We had a really good time here at Retreat and I look forward to trying new things in the future.

The pasta of your dreams aka braised short rib tagliatelle.

So. Ambience wise I can't comment. I sat outside tonight. Comfy but outside. Service was great! Hostess was kind quick and accommodating. Server was lovely. Drinks were amazing and imaginative. Had a spicy Mezcal that was amazing. As for the food there's a needed backstory. 24 years ago on our honeymoon we went to Italy and in Florence I had the best pasta I've ever had. Wild boar tagliatelle. So good that 5 years later we flew back in part to have it again. I've tried with decent success to recreate it at home but it's not quite the same. No. Retreat doesn't have wild boar tagliatelle. But they do have a braised short rib tagliatelle that is the closest I've ever had to my original love. I don't think I could pass a blindfolded taste test. So for you locals you can fly 4,928 miles or you can get your posteriors in these seats. Your choice but if you do neither you are missing out. Minor edit. Returned second night in a row. Sat inside at the end of happy hour. Amazing fish tacos. I get the other reviews that the place is loud but it's a popular (crowded) place and I can't see what the owners could do to reduce the noise. Also I had a clear view of the kitchen at that place is spotless. Lastly, Kevin is a true mixologist. Masterfully creating the home made confections for cocktail additions. Absolutely 5 star. Deserves a James Beard nomination.

Finally! After a long day of gin samples and croquet, my friend decided today was the day for Retreat Gastropub. This place has been on my list for a while, so needless to say I jumped at the chance of going. We went at 4:45 on Sunday and were seated right away. Within a couple minutes, we were greeted by our server and given water. I had an idea of what I wanted food wise, well, I knew I wanted to try the Brussel sprouts but was still undecided on the main dish. All the drinks looked good, but I was sold on the Three Toed Flamingo because they listed it as tropical. I forgot the drink my friend ordered but she said it was great. My drink was strong and wasn't as sweet as I had hoped. IMO, it's def. meant to be sipped slow, or maybe it's because I can't handle bitters? Either way, I took my time. As we were browsing the menu, the couple next to us got the Parm garlic fries, miso glazed salmon, and something else. After seeing their dishes, I knew I wanted the same. My friend got apps (Mac and cheese and sprouts), while I got two mentioned above and sprouts for myself. Both of our sprouts arrived first and they were cooked perfectly. I'm a sucker for a good crispy, charred sprout accompanied by seasoning and I got just that. What I didn't expect was to find the white hummus at the bottom. It was different. The mushiness crept into some of the sprouts and made them soggy. Thankfully, it didn't alter the taste. I had to pump the brakes on my sprouts because I knew I still had more food coming. When it arrived, we each split the fries (which were SO good) and I shared a little of my salmon. The fries were cooked perfectly and had a great crisp to them. I was happy the salmon was cooked slightly more than medium because any other place I've been where it's cooked but still pink has made me sick. They cooked it this way without me asking, so def. get bonus points for that. After eating all we could, we got our food to-go and settled for the check. I was thoroughly impressed for my first visit and can attest this place certainly lives up to the hype. I can't wait to come back.

Moody lighting, cozy corners, and an effortlessly cool vibe make it the kind of spot where time slows down in the best way. We stopped in for their Sunday late night happy hour (8-11pm) and honestly? At my big age, difficult parking situations are a turn off and I will go home if I can't get reasonable parking. I was able to snag a space in the lot and headed in. The space is a bit dark with rich sage, brass, and terracotta. There are several hanging plants making it an inviting place. The bar has plenty of comfortable seating and cozy tables if you decide to bring some friends. Caleb was our server during our visit. He was an absolute delight. He made excellent cocktail suggestions. He looked after our group without being overly doting. Just a gem of a human. We tried approximately 9 cocktails during our visit. Did I mention we were at brunch! I highly recommend the peach bite and the Side Car. Every cocktail is thoughtfully made and well executed. They offer a small brunch menu along with the regular menu. I usually always get chilaquiles when they are available. But today the ruby trout and grits sounded perfect. This dish was amazing!! The trout was thin with crispy skin. The grits were creamy and delicious. The dish is topped with a house made radish pico and salsa macha. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was paired with the crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The burger and fries are also a good option. The seasoning on the fries is next level. The brunch menu has a sticky toffee roll that is a perfect size for sharing or not. Salty sweet fork tender cinnamon roll. Lastly, the deviled eggs were a group favorite. I am a big fan of Passenger Chili Crisp. If you are unfamiliar please look them up! It's hands down the best chili crisp I've ever had. It's locally made here in STL and can also be found in several dishes at restaurants around town. The eggs were creamy with the right amount of tang from the mustard. The chili crisp made these deviled eggs easily top five best I've ever had! Planning to stop in again soon for happy hour with more friends

I heard from the birthday boy and his wonderful wife that the owners were incredibly accommodating, and you could feel that hospitality throughout the entire evening.
