The food here was delicious! I definitely recommend getting their fried chicken along with their pho. The interior is decorated beautifully as well, with exposed brick and the trees. Service was good as well!
This is one of my favourite spots for authentic Vietnamese food in Markham. The ambiance is warm and bright, and the portions are generous for the price. We opted to try something other than pho, so we ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl and banh xeo (messy to eat because I can't wrap haha, but delish). Both dishes were packed with flavour and texture, and I'm salivating just writing this review. I do wish that the server came by to explain how to best eat the banh xeo though. The only downside is the parking situation in this plaza. Expect it to take a bit of time to find a parking spot, as it's very busy on weekends.
Probably the best bun rieu I've ever had. I feel that separating some of the ingredients was a bit unnecessary (minus the crab) but doesn't take away from the taste. This is the first time I've seen actual crab be served with the dish, and this one was deep fried in salted egg, which was delicious. Also got the viet coffee which was nice and strong. I had to save half for the next day! Service was quick and staff were friendly.
In my quest for Bun Rieu, I encountered a lot of positive reviews about this place. Mission completed today, with my happy rating of 5! This place is unique in that they focus more on non-noodle-soup dishes, serving variety of small/side/appetiser food items. We wished I could order all that we wanted to try, but had to narrow down to the following: Non-noodle soup items: #1. Nam's famous dry chicken #6. BANH BOT LOC And noodle soups: #37.Tai (AA prime rib rare beef slices with pho noodle in broth) #50. Bun Rieu I wanted to scream (with joy) when I had this chicken wings(#1). Actually I did. Super thin fried crisp coating enclosing the juicy meat inside perfectly. The flavor was something that I have never imagined. Sweet, salty, and covered in the load of chopped green onions and garlic. Super aromatic and addictive. I am glad to be alive to eat this lol. Banh Bot Loc (#6) is dumplings with translucent, chewy tapioca flour steamed wrapper. On the menu it says "filled with pork and shrimp". When I saw it I instantly imagined it would be similar to Har Gow with plumpy shrimps with juicy pork. But this one's filling was paste of minced pork and shrimp, which was a bit of surprising (negatively) but the wrapper was absolutely delicate and enjoyable. Glad that I was able to try this one! # Bun Rieu: Loved this! Full of seafood flavor without fishiness. Pork blood cake was in. Soft shell crab is in. Heaven! noodles and topping came to the table separately, and I put them in the soup in the hot stone bowl. It was hot-hot throughout, that was so satisfying. # Tai (#37) was "rare beef pho" and was our least liked item. Soup arrived not hot enough, and the beef's quality did not feel as good as it claimed. Soup flavor was somewhat lacking as well. My hubby did not like the texture of the noodle, he felt that it was too flabby. However - I really liked their "Not just noodle-soup" approach. I did not feel the snobbishness and over-essentialization. May be they want to organise the entrance area a bit - we were met with piles of chairs as we walked in lol, but regardless, I am sure to return for Bun Rieu and other non-noodle-bowl items, such as beef Carpaccio, and chicken wings again!!! And more!!! Oh my so satisfied. Thanks.
After hearing from friends how much they enjoyed Nam - we finally met up at Nam 2 in Unionville. Their reviews were not exaggerated! The decor is warm and inviting, lots of parking in plaza lot, and the staff are excellent!! My only complaint is that the chicken wings have a sweet crispy coating that is addicting!! Tried the cooked greens, mango salad, beef stew, sweet wings - every morsel was full of flavor. I'm going back in a few days.
Presentation, service, food and ambiance is great here. Lots of Vietnamese food options with an abundance of seating inside. I got the pho dac biet medium size and that was more than enough for me. My family order a few different options but stated that the bun Rieu was probably the tastiest. I didn't get a chance to try that one or the bun no hue but I didn't try the pho ga as well that the soup was sooo good. They also give you one ice cream per person after the meal with the choice of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Chocolate and strawberry was good. Overall highly recommend this place. The bun Bo hue and bun rieu come in stone pots so it makes your soup hot all throughout the meal. Our group of 6 adults and 2 kids came out to be about $192. Pay cash for a small discount. Debit and credit card payments do not have discounts.
Food great. Service great. Ambiance great. Overall awesome! Visiting from California and got to say this place hit the spot. I enjoy when presentation + quality, especially with colorful Vietnamese food. Got the dac biet to get all the assorted stuff while my family got varieties of other VN dishes. We will be coming back here soon!
Nam 2 is a great spot to curb your late night Vietnamese cravings, being one of the few places open late at night until 2am. There's plenty of seats available but it does get busy during peak hours. I ordered the Deep Fried Spring Rolls, as well as the Rare Beef Pho. The Deep Fried Spring Rolls are great, with the perfect amount of filling and a crisp outside. The Rare Beef Pho was good as well, although the broth was not as flavourful as other pho places I've been to. A little basil and lime help a lot though! I also got the Mango Smoothie, which is powder-based, but still creamy and yummy. I would have hoped for real mango however! My table also got the meat platter, and the beef dishes, especially the brisket, were absolutely amazing. Definitely would get that next time! Nam 2 only accepts debit and cash so be sure to be prepared. Definitely a great spot to hit up late at night, or even for lunch or dinner.
If you are a pho phanatic, you definitely should try this place if you haven't already. The deep fried chicken wings are a MUST order! It's so flavorful and it come with a zesty lemon sauce for dipping. So refreshing and yet tangy which changes the flavour of the chicken wings. The sauce pairs really well together. Try it for yourself. Order a chicken pho to share and the broth was flavorful with black pepper and a hint of sweetness. It comes with quality eggs and onions in the soup rice noodle. If you order the large, it comes with extra side of noodles. You need to request for the side of noodles so you can wait until you are closer to finishing as it comes with soup which may soak and soften the noodles if you prefer al dente texture. I've also had the bun rieu (crab) tomato soup base with softshell crab in vermicelli and it's my favorite soup noodle dish too. Definitely recommend this restaurant to satisfy your chicken wings and pho cravings.
With so many viet spots popping up its difficult to determine my favourite one. Nam2 is still one of the contenders. Nam Wings - Crack seasoning on wings. So good. Would get again. Grilled Beef Vermicelli with Spring roll - Thick vermicelli, lots of crunch from peanuts. Spring rolls are fantastic with lots of meat and nice crisp on the outside. A smaller amount of beef. Beef Pho - Good amount of food for a small. Broth was hearty and beefy. Flavour was decent and simple.
Came here twice in a month. My favourite is this pictured dish with soft shell crab. The broth is sooo flavourful. Space could be a tiny cramped with a stroller but they always try to make it fit which is much appreciated
4.5/5 Nam 2 Unionville is one of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants in the neighbourhood, it might be due to cold snowy weather, there was no queue on a Thursday night as it's usually very busy especially over the weekend. Service was prompt and good, foods served were in generous portion, their fried chicken wings are a must try, it's so delicious with the lime sauce. The broth for chicken pho was aromatic, tasty and light, I meant not oily or salty. This time we've tried a new dish with rice wrap, I was a bit clumsy eating it with the crispy rice paper scattered everywhere. I don't know whether this is something temporary, Nam 2 now offers one free popsicle each, this is such a generous and nice gesture especially in expensive GTA these days. Ambiance is good, I'll always come back here.
We were trying to get something new that this restaurant looks so popular. The restaurant was so decorated that I would like to have a try. We ordered the soft shell crab noodles ($21) and also chicken rice($18.50). The soft shell crab was deep fried and separated on the plate, there was another plate of beef, and noodles in a hot stone bowl. I really love the soft shell crab, it was deep fried with egg yolk. The chicken rice was having a special dipping sauce fish sauce on the side. The chicken itself was tasty already, I didn't need the fish sauce. This Vietnamese restaurant was offering special Vietnam food. So the price was a bit high, but once in a while to try something new, it is still worth.

FANTASTIC food explains the long lines at the door! But truly love the food here: from Fried Chicken Wings to the pho -- it's all flavour-packed and good portions. First things I noticed was how aesthetic the restaurant was inside and how busy it was. Highly recommend checking in on Yelp early to reduce wait time. Now the food. The wings were amazing! Very similar to the ones from Phnom Penh in Vancouver for anyone's that's tried it. We also got the bone marrow pho ($22.5) and the butter beef ($17). Both were delicious although the bone was pretty shallow so there wasn't a lot of marrow. I would probably try a different pho dish next time as it was pricey for the amount. If you're looking for slightly fancier, modern Viet restaurant, you've come to the right place! Expect to pay a bit more than your traditional pho restaurant. read more
Cute interior, salty pho. The interior of this restaurant is such a vibe! Super adorable with a lot of hanging string lights, perfect for a first date. The food and service however, can use some improvement. You order from a QR code, multiple phones can add to the same cart to place your order so no need to pass your phone around the table. Shortly after getting seated we ordered our food, but realize no server has brought us any tea or water. It was also really hard to flag down any server throughout our entire dining experience here. Onto the food: Dry wings 10/10 Super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The outer coating of the wings is to die for, sprinkled with some sugar and so flavourful. It came paired with the perfect dipping sauce of lime juice. Highly recommend! Bun Rieu with soft shell crab 8/10 A nice tomato soup blend that comes with a whole deep fried soft shell crab on the side. Lacked toppings/ ingredients in this bowl though, it was mostly noodles and soup. Pho bac 3/10 Beef pho is perhaps one of the most popular dishes people usually opt for when dining at a vietnamese restaurant but unfortunately Nam 2 did not hit the spot with this one. It was completely over salted and hard to eat. It came with one tiny piece of tendon and one tiny piece of tripe. Overall, lacked everything in terms of toppings and noodles. It was mostly soup. It also did not come with bean sprouts or lime on the side (herbs were already added into the soup when it came) and again took a while for us to flag any staff down to bring us some. Overall, I think the restaurant has some room for growth as some dishes are really delicious while others need some work. 3 star review mainly for their lack of service here and their prices being higher than other restaurants, while the quantity of food is not there. Got a table for three right away on a weekday around 11:40am. It did slowly fill up afterwards. Ordering is done through QR code now but you can still request for traditional paper menus if needed. We got an order of 16pcs dry wings and fresh roll to start. The chicken wings now come in different sizes. The wings are amazing as always and I love the lemony dipping sauce. There are wings with tips and mini drumsticks. The fresh rice paper rolls were quite standard. Dipping sauce was good. For the main, I got my usual rare beef and beef ball with dry noodle. I think they do tend to give you more noodles if you get the dry noodles versus the fresh rice noodles. My bowl had a nice ratio of meat to noodles. The broth has depth and flavour. Nam2 is definitely one of my go-to places for pho. read more

Delicious foods especially appetizers. Apps were the highlight of the meals. Fried chicken is a must try. Beef carpaccio and fried spring rolls were delicious. Special pho was usual tasting. Rice with chicken and pork chop was good, rice is the most delicious rice I've had from a viet place. Ambiance is very aesthetic and good for pictures. Service was good and fast. read more
Guys. I am summer-obsessed with this place. With the days getting hotter & hotter, I'm finding myself craving more natural & refreshing foods. With that said, I love ordering the bun vermicelli here ($14). They have beef/pork/chicken options. Each bowl is packed with veggies and complete with a spring roll. All the meats are marinated & grilled to perfection. The flavour packs a punch! I like that they call them "vermicelli salad bowls" hehe. So much healthier. The next item I like to treat myself to is the Banh Xeo pancake ($18), a nice share platter. There are giant posters of it all over the place. It's basically an egg pancake, accompanied with pork belly, bean sprouts and herbs, and sweet fish sauce. They bring you the platter, then you diy. I enjoy this platter so much because it's a hands-on experience and so engaging lol. I think the egg is made with fragrant coconut oil, because that is all my mouth remembers when I go home, leaving me craving more. So yum~ Lastly, can I just say.. the decor in here is absolutely stunning. Relaxing dreamy rainforest feels for me~ and just to complete the vibe, I wish they replaced the Just for Laugh gags with some Vietnamese tourism videos or something. Not complaining too much, I mean I love JFL too. - Skip the line!- They utilize the Yelp waitlist here! First time here from Google search of this location with positive reviews. Parking - lots of parking available Ambience - nice decor and lit areas with some modern chairs at tables. Food - tried a few dishes. Chicken wings - the winner with great flavour. Crispy, salt, sweet and garlic taste. Must get! Small is 5 pcs, medium is 10 pcs and large is 12 pcs which is what we got. Bun Riêu - was ok. Did not have a lot of flavour. Chicken on rice - good portions size, chicken was moist and on point. Smoked rib - was tender and meat came off the bone. Great flavour for the rib. Pork vermicelli - like other places and can't go wrong. Grilled pork was good with the deep fried roll. Beef stew - great flavour, not too salty and tender stew that broke apart easily when eaten. Service - the experience that was disappointing. Not sure if there was less staffing but saw 3 mainly servicing the whole restaurant that was pretty busy. Table given with menu with a paper and pen to write down our order for the server to pick up to put in. We were a group of 7 and our food came in different times. The smoked rib came first but the pho with soup came last. Asking for additional service, had to go look for someone to assist including the bill to pay then go to the front to pay with a line up or a take out container to take remaining food home. Possibly it was a one off for experience and try on another day to see it is better. read more
Not your typical Vietnamese-pho spot Ambience: Upscale Vietnamese restaurant, when you enter and look around you, they have put high-effort to making you feel like a local. Parking: Lots of parking located in New Kennedy Square, be prepared to fight for parking cause there's lots of good restaurants here and when dinner time comes, be ready to go to war) Service: Long wait times, waited about 45 minutes for a table of 3, they are busy, had I known you can waitlist on Yelp, I would have but it was a last minute dinner decision. When we sat down we had to flag a server down for tea/hot water. Order from the QR code at your table. Rating: 3/5 Food: Pho Dac Biet (Restaurant special with rare beef, tendon, beef balls) Ordered with fresh noodles. Broth was good, but would not say great, was not overly seasoned, could have used more flavor. *Can pick between fresh noodles and dry noodles. Rating: 3/5 Bun Rieu (crab tomatoes noodle soup with mince crab and pork with mince eggs in noodle soup) Could have used more flavor, felt a little underseasoned compared to home cooking. Did not meet expectations on this one. Rating: 3/5 Banh Bot Loc (shrimp and pork clear dumplings) Topped with pork floss, cilantro, lettuce, hint of lime, crispy fried shallots. 3.5 stars Came here on Canada day weekend and wanted to have lunch here with my family. I joined the Yelp waiting list and was 8th in line. 30 minutes later I was notified that our table was ready. The hostess behind the cash took us to our table, and got us hot tea while we went through our menu. To order you just need to take a pic of the QR code on your table and you can order whatever you heart desires! Upon walking, you can see the beautiful decor around the restaurant. It gives you modern Vietnamese vibes and I'm loving it. I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food as I am half Chinese/Vietnamese and mr. Tran is full Vietnamese. We ordered Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese tapioca dumpling (banh bot loc), Vietnamese pancake (banh xeo), Summer rolls (goi cuon), deep fried spring rolls (cha gio) and rice with lemon grass chicken plate. Food came out within 10 minutes. Food was not bad, I mean I had better in my moms area down on the west end, but for Markham I guess it was good. The banh xeo stood out the most as the batter was crispy and had good coconut milk flavour, it would be better if they put more shrimp and pork in the filling though. Summer rolls were pretty decent compared to ALOT of Vietnamese establishments. Their pork was juicy and not dry like most places. Everything else was okay. I did like the coffee as it had a chocolate note to the coffee from the coffee brand that we also use at home. I would come back again, to try the pho. It's probably one of the better Vietnamese establishments in Markham after Pho metro. read more
Really enjoyed the food at Nam2 and I really liked how everything was ordered through the mobile app that you scan a QR code for when you get seated! The dishes we ordered were: Pho dac biet Bun rieu (with soft shell crab) Garlic dry wings Spring rolls Everything was so tasty the wings were so crispy as well as the spring rolls! Nam 2 is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant around this area. There is usually some wait if you come on weekends and during popular times. They used to do a virtual waitlist which was nice, but has gone back to the old fashion pen & paper waitlist (which is not ideal when you're waiting with a baby). So you often see people crowding around the entrance waiting. However, the food is delicious with the wings being a standout. The decor is a touch whimsical and fun. I would recommend going during at off peak times to avoid a wait. read more

Bad service with mediocre food. We got spring rolls and pad thai during our visit and we did not have a good experience. The pad thai was too sour and I found a piece of rock in the spring rolls. We told the waiter about the rock and the waiter just took away our dish without saying anything (no apologies whatsoever). After a few minutes, they brought back a new dish of spring rolls. I was disappointed about how little they cared about having foreign substances in their food and barely acknowledged it. All they did was bring back a new dish which felt like they just wanted to cover it up. However, they didn't say anything about bringing a new dish or making sure this type of thing never happens again. I do not trust their cleanliness anymore and will probably never visit again. read more

Came in on a Saturday before the crowds. Pro Tip - you can get yourself in the waitlist through Yelp before even heading out! The restaurant has a nice vibe. We were seated in the little room next to the door on the left and it almost felt like we were sitting at a decorated wedding party. Lots of greenery and fairytale vibes. We ordered the dumplings, fried spring rolls, bun Bo hue and a smoked beef rib pho. The dumplings (banh bot loc) were very chewy and flavourful. The outer wrap is like a chewy tapioca - just be aware there's more wrap than there's filling. Filling is a pork and shrimp mixture. Very tasty and not very much of it. The spring rolls were decent. Well fried where it didn't feel too oily and it had a nice crunch to it. Decent amount of fillings. Bun Bo Hue had a nice variety of toppings with a flavourful broth. The portion isn't very much but it was just right for us. The beef rib pho was a bit underwhelming as the bowl was literally noodles with one rib in it. The meat was very good though but I almost wish there was a bit more to it? They also ran out of fresh noodles by about 6:30pm on the Saturday which was surprising as I was sure more people were going to be disappointed. Service was decent even though some of the staff did not really speak English. It made it feel authentic though lol. They only take debit or cash! read more

There are definitely a few must-order dishes here. The 48 hour smoked brisket pho, the Bun Rieu Cua w/ soft shell crab and the dry chicken wings. I think it's very good value considering the time and work that goes into these two dishes. Bun rieu has a deliciously authentic shrimpy tomato broth with plenty of toppings with tofu puff, cha lua, pork blood, crab paste patty, and of course you can never go wrong with deep fried soft shell crab. 48 hour smoked brisket pho was simple and complex at the same time. It has strong smokey aroma, tender, and good balance between fat and meat. The broth was a bit strong on the star anise imo but not to the point that it was upsetting. An order of wings come with 5 pieces and are super crispy, seasoned and cooked perfectly with some scallions and onions and paired with a lime sauce. I would skip the lemongrass meat + rice dishes. The lemongrass marinade isn't very pronounced and the food wasn't quite hot enough. They're busy so staff might not be as attentive. They're not the friendliest bunch but they're efficient. read more

Have come here twice now and both times have been fantastic! They have a QR code for your table, so that you do not have to call a server to order something. The only time the server comes around is to provide you with the food or let you know if something is out of stock. So you order through the website that the QR code takes you through, and each person at the table can order using their own phone... Which also makes handling the bill later much easier. The food that comes out is delicious. Highly recommend coming here with friends!! read more
Finally went to try Nam 2 tonight with my hubby. An acquaintance told me to try their pork and shrimp clear dumpling as an appetizer then the smoked brisket pho. I didn't really enjoy the dumplings as it was a bit too chewy & difficult to break down. The stuff inside the dumpling was nice though. The smoked brisket had a good flavor but I wish it was more fatty. Most of it was too lean for me so it was a bit dry. I also found it too salty and same with my pho broth. Hubby got a vermicelli bowl as he usually does when we go for Vietnamese food. He said it was good but prefers The Pho Restaurant. We may go back to try other items there. read more
Ate here today with my family for dinner for the first time while visiting and leaving Toronto tomorrow. I got the pork chop and grilled chicken over rice and then we all got different dishes to try and eat as a family together that it all had tasted super good and delicious. The service there was also really good and attentive. I couldn't agree more and I would definitely eat and come back again next time when I visit Canada someday maybe in the future! :) read more
Can get very busy, so make sure to put your name down on the Yelp Waitlist before heading over, especially on weekends. Menu and ordering can all be done by phone, at the table. This visit ordered the Chicken Wings and Bun Rieu with Soft Shell Crab. The chicken wings were really good. Very tasty and I love the chopped up garlic. A little pricey though. The Bun Rieu soup had good flavour, but on the milder side compared to some other ones I've tried. The fried soft-shell crab comes on the side, and is tasty, but some pieces were a little wet tasting. Also ordered an Iced Viet Coffee, which was good and strong, but also a little small and pricey. I've since gone as well for takeout, and the smoked brisket pho is interesting. Overall, the food is pretty good. Some interesting specialties that not every Viet restaurant will have, but on the pricey end. read more

Came here around 6pm on a Sunday. It was extremely busy. No one really greeted us or took our names/numbers for waiting list. We had to go up to a staff member and ask if they had seating on the patio for us. Luckily they did and we were seated within 10mins. Ordering was easy through a QR code linked to our table. Food arrived pretty quickly. We ordered the shrimp and pork fresh rolls and the pho special (pho dac biet). It tasted decent, but wasn't anything spectacular. There was a wasp in one of our soups. Not really their fault as it is wasp season, but still not great to almost eat one. They did gave us another pho that arrived quickly. The portions are good. Their large is actually a large, unlike some other pho places. I wouldn't be in a hurry to come back here, but it is one of the few pho places with a patio. So I would for that reason. I finally decided to try this place out after hearing raving reviews about the chicken wings. Upon arrival, we were given the option to sit inside or the patio. We chose inside, which has 2 floors of seating. The restaurant itself is spacious and I saw that it also accommodates to large parties as well. You scan a QR code specifically for the table that you're sitting at, enter your name, phone number, and that is how you view and order your food. This system was cool and it was contactless. I ordered the Dry Wings ($10.50/5 pieces). These wings were really good. Crispy and full of flavour! I loved the subtle mix between sweetness and the garlic flavour. I also ordered the Com Tam Ca Ri Bo (curry beef brisket, $12.90 + side of bread $1.50). The curry was okay, wasn't the biggest fan of the curry sauce, but the beef brisket was good. The restaurant got a bit busy towards the end of my visit so the service was a bit slow, but all interactions with staff were good. I can see that this spot definitely gets busy during dinner time. Regardless, this spot is worth visiting and the wings are worth a try. read more
I've been to the original Nam and liked it, so it would make sense for me to like Nam 2, right? For the most part, yes. My most recent visit to the GTA made me notice many restaurants are adapting Yelp for their wait line system. I put myself and my dad in the waiting line, and on a Tuesday at 7pm it took about 20 minutes for our seat. Not too bad and definitely showed how popular this place is. When I went to the original Nam my go to was the beef stew rice noodle soup, so I decided to stick with the same thing here. The smoked brisket pho looked interesting, but I guess that's something for next time! The noodle soup is as good as the original Nam. I find Nam does beef stew the best out of all the pho places I've been to in Markham (I haven't tried The Pho yet. Metro is probably 2nd). Lots of unique dishes to try here, I'd definitely return next time I visit my parents. read more
Came here for dinner with my family and it was pretty busy. They have a good selection of food and everyone raves about their chicken wings. I had the tofu pad Thai which was okay. Definitely needs more vegetarian options read more

Been to this location twice and have tried 5 different items. I always see great photos on Instagram, but maybe its for their other location. I got the phnom penh noodles in takeout and it was very plain and flavourless. There were hardly any toppings in it too. I sampled my friend's butter beef after I told her she should get it... we both didn't really like the dish. The wings were pretty good, it was everyone's favourite. When I came to dine in, I got the BBH which was pretty good. I would get this dish at Nam 2 again. I tried a bowl of my friends bun rieu but we agreed it tasted very watery compared to the BBH and had 0 crab flavour. read more
Such a cute spot in Markham for Vietnamese food! I heard about Nam from friends before so was excited to try Nam 2 with a friend. We went on a weekday for lunch and there was lots of seating but still quite busy. We ordered a few dishes to try: Chicken Wings - Really enjoyed the chicken wings. They were fried and topped with lots of garlic and onions so beware if you don't love garlic. It was good and would definitely order this again. Bun Thit Nuong - I always try pork and spring roll vermicelli at a lot of restaurants. This was okay, I felt the pork was a bit too fatty for me and also dry. Maybe an off day but I probably wouldn't order this again. I also ordered it for take out a second time and it wasn't anything special. Bun Rieu - Had this with soft shell crab both once at the restaurant and for take out. Really loved this. A lot of restaurants can't make this dish right and I'll have to say it was done really well and the crispy soft shell crab is a nice touch. It's a large portion, I couldn't finish it. Would definitely come back for lunch or dinner again if I'm in the area. read more

Beautiful decor and a really busy spot. Food was fine and tasty but expect a long wait. Not an ideal place to go if you only have an hour for lunch. We were seated right away but waited almost 25-30 mins for our food after we ordered and had to follow up, as did other patrons. I'd consider returning if I had all the time in the world but lunch on a weekday, would not try again. read more
Gloomy weather calls for BUN BO HUE & PHO! Aromatic noodle soup is something I relish when the temperature dips. It's the ultimate cold comfort food that is filling but lighter than ramen or rice. Nam Vietnamese Restaurant is the perfect spot to discover authentic Vietnamese cuisines. They have locations in Toronto, Richmond Hill, and Markham that serve a diverse offering of over 40 traditional and modern fusion Vietnamese & Cambodian recipes ranging from banh mi sandwiches to hearty pho bowls. Thai Iced Tea I started off with the Thai Ice Tea which was deliciously creamy and mildly spiced, albiet small for the price. The cup was also filled with more ice than the drink itself which was disappointing. Nam's dry crispy chicken wings (w/ lime sauce) $10.90 Nam has two variations of chicken wings- Nam's dry crispy chicken wings (w/ lime sauce) or Nam's chicken wings (w/ special house sauce). Both are the same price $10.90 which was steep for a small appetizer. I went with the dry crispy wings and there were 5 pieces. I love the kick of sweetness with the delicious garlic, sugar and spices (msg too?) that are infused into the skin of the wing. It had a nice crunch and the lime sauce provided a nice touch. Spicy beef and ham noodle soup $12 (aka) Bun Bo Hue- a hidden gem noodle dish that I like to try whenever I visit a Vietnamese restaurant for the first time. It's a Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup and it's all about the beefy, lemongrass, and spicy flavor! To date, Nam probably has the spiciest BBH I've had so far with the most ingredients. This Central Vietnamese soup was loaded with tender slices of beef, Vietnamese ham, pork blood jelly, pork knuckle and topped with lots of fresh herbs and cabbage. I also tried the Noodle soup with rare beef, brisket, tripe, tendon, and beef balls. The broth was steaming hot, rich, and flavourful without being salty and the noodles were perfect. It might be hard to tell but the bowl was huge! It was $12.00 for the Large. P.S 10% off with cash! I found it interesting that their entire menu was translated into English because I wasn't used to seeing non-Vietnamese words at a Vietnamese Restaurant. Overall, the experience was pleasant. The restaurant is beautifully decorated on the inside and tables have adequate spacing in between. Menus are offered online by scanning the QR code provided at the table (WIFI provided). Ordered take out here for a few times and this is the first time I dined in. I really like the ambiance here. Food is delicious and always packed. Came for lunch and normally order pho but heard a lot of good things about the butter beef. So I ordered that and the crispy chicken wings. They are both so delicious. Pho is really good with their broth, somehow this time the broth was a little bit oily. Anyways still good! Will definitely come back. One of the better pho places. read more
Read this on someone's instagram post and the smoked and braised short ribs intrigued me to drive across town to give it a try. Also the special drink - Che Suong Sa - sadly not available even at 11:30 in the morning on a Saturday Note - this place only accept debit and cash. [yelp probably has a place to put that info but just easier if I put it here] We were warned of a lineup so came 30 min after they open. Good call. Tried all the items suggested at the other post: 1. Dry rub chicken wings 2. Beef stew 3. Butter beef 4. Garlic stir fry vegetables 5. Braised and smoked short ribs Pho (the "duel") [yes we have our fill on beef just for the week] #1-4 lives up to their race reviews. Highly recommended. And this hot sauce they have - be warned of its potency #5 is a a tough one to review. It's a lot of meet for the money so good value and it's definitely a shareable dish (3+). With the fat that isuall come with this cut it's a bit much IMHO. For those who's seen my other reviews, the soup base for the pho need to be good to get 5 stars no matter what. It's good but not quite 5 star. However they have other flavoured broth here so if I ever come back I will try them and update Their menu is so unique for Vietnamese restaurants that if you are in the area it's definitely worth trying. read more

I find it hard to give Vietnamese restaurants 5 stars but Nam 2 is definitely part of my top 3 list for Vietnamese cuisine. When all tables are occupied, you can leave your name and number on a clipboard in the front. For a Thursday evening, our wait was around 15~ minutes. When you sit down and scan the QR code, you can actually order your food from the app. It's a bit confusing to utilize at first but someone did come back to confirm the order. Shareable: fish sauce chicken wings (6 pieces) and banh xeo for the table. Banh xeo was a lot for two people, would recommend it for bigger groups. It came with some rice paper but it was recommended to put the lettuce piece first so it softens the rice paper. I prefer to eat banh xeo with a lettuce wrap instead. Main dish: their bun bo hue was probably the best one I've ever had locally. It was full of flavour and aromatic. Nam 2 is pretty busy so service can be slow at times but their food is worth the wait. Debit/cash payment only and you'll have to pay at the front. read more

Nam's new location in Markham, now there's no need to go to RHill. Ordered takeout here for lunch, the food was ready pretty quickly. - Phnom penh dry noodles: You can choose from different types of noodles, I opted for the egg noodles. It's loaded with hella toppings and garnishes - pork belly, overcooked shrimp, and dry minced pork. It's p heavy on the garlic and crispy shallots so prepare for stank breath afterwards. Aside from the overcooked proteins, taste-wise it was pretty good. Also comes with a bowl of pork broth. - Chicken wings with special sauce: Really good! They were made super fresh so they were still hot and crispy when we got home. It's like a sweet sauce with garlic. Def recommend this. - Pho with rare beef: Beef, noodles, and piping hot soup were separated so that was good. Soup was clean and flavourful. They also have outdoor seating available! read more
OVERALL: Great Vietnamese option overall and one of the best in the area. Tasty food, fair quantity and nice restaurant. I'm a regular here! VENUE: Located in the New Kennedy plaza, you won't miss Nam 2. They've definitely put effort into the design of the restaurant relative to other Vietnamese joints to make it trendy and comfortable. With Covid19 it's definitely not been enjoyed enough. FOOD: I'm addicted to their Pho, Bun Bo Hue and Chicken Wings. Great broth, good meat quality and decent portions. They also offer fresh and dry noodle options! SERVICE: Met my expectations, of well ... Not the best service. Curt and to the point, but I'd say normal for what it is. Gotta say, their crispy fried chicken wings are downright addictive. Something about that crunchy first bite of the wings was filled with so much intense flavour. Sweet, salty, and sour all-in-one. Wings cannot ever be this tasty, I thought to myself in disbelief, while hunting around my takeout box in the hope of unearthing one extra chicken wing for good measure. It's undeniably one of the tastiest, most savoury snacks. Oh so good that sadly I did not have the foresight to pull the wings away long enough to snap a photo of them for this review. Lucky for me, I took a photo of my wings the last time I was here, well before devouring another order. So I will post the photos of the other dishes ordered as a reference.
