I've heard of Pho Metro before, but this is the first time I've actually gotten a chance to eat here, and boy have I been missing out! They had a separate menu for curry options, and that I'm always drawn to a good curry. This stir fry was so flavourful and sweet and spicy at once. It was the perfect portion size for me, and I was able to bring some home to enjoy for another meal. I definitely plan on returning and trying new dishes, because there's soooo many good options to pick from. There is an hour seating limit as it gets quite busy, yet the busyness of the restaurant didn't make us feel cramped at all. I have gone here enough times to score a free large grilled beef spring rolls. My typical P1 large is my go to dish. This is the pho soup with different kinds of beef. There service is also very efficient which makes sense because pho broth needs to be consumed hot. My daughter is not always a fan of pho so we sometimes get the pad Thai. The pad Thai dish here is also good too even though pad Thai is not a Vietnamese dish. I recommend people give this place a try if you are in the area. read more

The decor was pretty cute and interesting, there were pokemon legos and origami around the restaurant. It gave quite a cozy vibe. I tried the grilled lemongrass and springroll with vermicelli. I also got a cooked beef flank and beef meatballs noodle soup with no onions and cilantro. It tasted just okay. The portions were quite small for the prices. This Pho metro is small and when we went - it was packed. Had to wait for a bit but it gave us time to look at the interesting decor. Drawings from kids cover the wall, and in our booth, it had some local artist's works. It was cute and made it feel really mom and pop. Service was fast, and food came out quick. Wife found a hair in her chicken fried rice, but whatever- didn't make a deal about it. My pho was a large portion, tons of meat, and loved the selection of noodle. Only negative on the pho was the broth was not super hot, and it lacked flavour...almost felt watered down. Though the food wasn't great, I'm very glad to see the same friendly FOH staff and that they're continuing to take a cautious and responsible approach to doing business during covid. They continue to mask and require vaccine passports. The vermicelli dish was a decent portion size with tender pork and homemade nem nuong. However, I found the pork to be lacking in lemongrass flavour and the nem nuong could be cooked a little longer or at a higher temp for more grill flavour. But most importantly, the nuoc cham sauce was very bland and the flavour tasted closer to water than fish sauce or vinegar. Overall, I found the food to be rather inconsistent the last few times I've visited. Despite this, you can count on really good service here. Food is 2* but bumping to 3* for service. read more

Food is good but has room for improvements, but the great service, especially from the friendly front counter dude, made the experience good. I've been to many Pho restaurants, and I have to say, this particular Pho Metro made a great impression on me. We came on a Saturday dinner, and was greeted by the host who was very welcoming. After getting seated, our server (a young girl in glasses) was also very friendly and welcoming. Compared to many Pho restaurants I've visited, the workers aren't generally that caring and wouldn't try to strike a conversation with you. It definitely made my night a lot better with the friendly atmosphere the restaurant had. Ordering was very simple, scan the code to access the PDF menu online. We ordered one large P1 & small P7, which didn't take too long to arrive. The large portion was probably one of the biggest I've seen around. As for the small, I liked the portion bc generally I can't finish one - so I end up wasting food. However, I was able to finish this small size. By far one of the best BBH I have ever had. I haven't had anything else but the BBH noodle soup but so far what I've had is freaking amazing. It's spicy, savory, beefy and opens your appetite. not overly spicy- someone who doesn't have high spice tolerance would be able to tolerate this. Tom yum seafood noodles: A sweeter spice missing the other elements of heat and fish sauce but very flavorful and tasty nevertheless. Fish balls somehow tasted dried inside, never had that before but I'm not sick the next day so dunno what happened there, shrimp a tad over cooked but noodles were good. Pho special: Broth very tasty and flavorful, meat was more medium than rare, soft enough and comparable. This place has THE BEST Vietnamese coffee ever. Depending on how sweet you like it, you can ask them for less condensed milk. I love it because it's pretty much the only restaurant with coffee that actually wakes me up. Their noodles are the a little on the small size but their broth is perfect - flavorful. However, I would like to see a little more meat in it. Their rice paper rolls are absolutely to die for - especially the one with beef! Absolute heaven. There's a rice dish - C1 (I forgot the name of the dish), but it's got chicken, pork, beef, a bit of pig skin, and a sunny side up egg :) - definitely VERY very, very, good!! Surprised to find another staple Viet spot I will be visitting!! I feel like so many viet places have gone down hill, so coming here with my family, I was not expecting much. It was really good and the noodles were bouncy and warm. I love that the ratio of veggies to noodles made sense so you had a nice mix per bite. Some places give you too much of the noodles or of the veggies and it's a bit unsettling haha. The grilled meat had a lot of good flavour so I was really happy with it. My mom got the same dish but with Pork and that was really good as well. My dad ordered the crab soup base noodles and it was not bad! quite flavourful but wish there was more seafood/crab meat in there. Meanwhile my boyfriend ordered a regular pho noodles special. I think that's the dish you start off with to just make sure this place is really getting its stuff together haha. The meats were good, no frozen flavour. The soup base was nice and not too salty. Great appetizers (e.g. spring rolls, rice paper rolls etc) need noodle soup (S $7.25, M $8.35, L $9.25), egg noodle soup, rice dishes, vermicelli, fried rice, pad Thai, smoothies etc. Quality of dishes are not disappointing or average at all. One of the most common avocado smoothie is done just right too. Soup broth is flavorful, texture of noodles are nice. The satay broth is more spicy than most other Vietnamese restaurants so beware. Clean simple place inside with booths and tables. Service is quite speedy. You mark your own choices on a piece of paper. They accept, credit and debit but not American Express. Pho metro is AWESOME! I kept seeing all my yelp friends check in and I definitely thought it was the one at lawrence and I was like.. ugh! I don't want to travel so far for pho.. then I realized it was a new pho place near me! YAY! It opened up in the plaza right beside pierre elliot trudeau school and it's right beside pixel 8! Easy and convenient. The pho is a bit pricey for markham, standing at $8~ per medium bowl but when it came out, the medium is quite big and the pho broth was pretty clear and didn't look like it had MSG poisoning. The beef was very soft and delicious while the broth was warm and inviting. Let me tell you, there's no better feeling in the world than warm pho broth/pho noodles entering a hungry belly. I also had a vietnamese pork sausage on the side, which was tasty too. ^_^ The place is nice, clean and service is efficient. Had a sudden craving for Pho at night and decided to stop in at Pho Metro. I have been there once on a weekday during lunch time before and found it a bit crowded because the plaza is close to a high school. That's one thing to keep in mind if you ever decide to go. My friend and I both ordered a small bowl of pho, both priced at $8.95. I found the portion of the noodles and meat to be less than other pho places considering the price point but the flavour was still good. That's where one star was lost. The staff was very friendly and enjoys to joke around which made the atmosphere quite fun.
