One of the ways which I can tell if a nail salon is good or not is the way they remove acrylics. I came in here with a full set that I needed removed and the guy did such a good job at being careful and not just breaking them off. He preserved my nail and made sure it was taken care of. I really did enjoy my manicure here. I felt very pampered and my nails were done nicely and not aggressively. I was given a shoulder massage after my manicure and i felt like i spent my money well here. All of the workers were very nice and sweet, and knowledgeable of the services they offer. I should have gotten up from the beginning. I used to go here years ago for mani/pedi. This time around, I went for a gel manicure. I already had gel from another salon and their removal process was so rough with a electrical tool that pieces of my actual nail was being scraped off. Then I asked the owner to cut three nails down to match the ones that had broken and she ended up cutting all of my nails super short. And the filing and cuticle removing process was a horrible. She was doing it without actually paying proper attention so my nails aren't squared and my cuticles were bleeding. This is the most sloppiest application of gel I've ever gotten because she was rushing, meanwhile there was no one waiting. Never going there again. I like them. No nonsense, polite, fast service. I was a walk-in and got a mani pedi. They saw me right away. Their tools feel a little sharp but I wasn't injured so it was probably just me being sensitive. Mani and pedi came out great. They massage kind of hard, again, maybe I am sensitive. WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. Worst gel manicure I've ever had, and one of the worst pedicures I've ever had. Pedicure: I have scratches on the back of my ankles from him scrubbing, none of my nails were cut, and it's already chipped and it's only been 2 days!!! Gel manicure: Right off the bat, I knew it was gonna be bad. THEY DON'T USE PH BOND WHICH IS ESSENTIAL FOR A GEL MANICURE TO LAST. So I told him "can I just switch to regular polish because I know this is going to last a day." And after me asking several times, a lady came over and took over, even though I said I still wanted to switch. So after they wouldn't let me switch, I said "I'll be back tomorrow, because I know for a fact this isn't going to stay." Sure enough, the gel peeled right off with absolutely no effort at all, so I went back the next day because it was $25, which isn't very cheap, and a girl redid it with regular polish this time, it still wasn't a great polish, and it's already chipping and this was yesterday. I asked them if I could get my eyebrows done since I payed for a gel manicure, and didn't get one, so that's why they're getting 2 stars and not one, because that and they said I could come back in for another free manicure. So at least they tried a little. BUT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. Not only were these terrible services, but the place is disgusting, and they have no polish selection. I hate writing bad reviews but I have too. After not being able to go to my favorite nail salon I came across this one and I really wish I just went into any other to be completely honest. After just one week of getting my nails done with acrylic it fell off because it wasn't properly glued on. So I had to come back and get them re done and the lady who did them did my nails so ugly, the nails didn't fit my size, too much gel and to make it worst she cut me the side of my nail to the point it wouldn't stop bleeding. I've been here before and they just got new massage salon chairs. They use new tools that they open in front of you (I never trusted the blue light reusables) but if you want your own callus sponge you should bring it. Great price and the service was quick, the woman that tended to me was very professional and didn't talk much but I didn't mind because I just wanted to relax anyway.I did the gel pedicure, this is my 2nd time and it lasted more than a month. read more

Since living in BK/Ridgewood area, I have yet to find a nail salon that compares to Queens or Long Island. This one didn't break the mold. Cons - They don't play any music or have a TV - It's not the cleanest, esp the instruments - Extremely limited color selection, especially if you want to use quality products like Essie and OPI - Nail techs don't do a great job, they seem very bored and are borderline sloppy I guess you get what you pay for. $20 is a bargain for a mani/pedi, even in this area. So, the ladies that work here are lovely and do a good job on my gel mani & pedis. I've even had brow & bikini wax done and that is always fine. My only complaint is the appearance and cleanliness of the actual salon. I feel like they need a good deep cleaning, a magic eraser & a fresh coat of paint and the place could really improve. They have recently put in some updated spa chairs but there are still some updates needed overall. I was in a rush and needed a pedicure (WOW, FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS, SO SAD) and Namaste is about 12 feet from my house so I thought that made sense even thought I've only gotten my eyebrows threaded here. They advertise a $20 manicure and pedicure - what??! How is that the actual price? So I figured they'd be comfortable with the idea of a rush pedicure. I wound up not only getting a surprisingly thorough pedicure, but more importantly, I wound up getting to chat with the lady doing my nails. Her name is Indira and she told me about Nepal and her family and how she likes speaking with customers to practice English because, after 11 years here, she still is in love with learning the language. IF I WAS A MILLIONAIRE I WOULD GIVE THIS WOMAN HALF BECAUSE WHAT A LOVELY HUMAN BEING. But what I can do as a non-millionaire (YET) is tell people that, in spite of this being an incredibly no-frills salon with terrible lighting, it's crazy cheap and there is a lady there named Indira who is wonderful to chat with (and really good at pedicures)(and yes I think that's just a straight up cheese grater they use on your heels)(IT WORKS THO!) and you should go and help her practice her English while you get your shit prettied up. ...Gotta say I don't understand why there are flies everywhere. Has to be said. But I'll ignore it for the charming companionship and crazy prices for what you actually get. read more

4 stars bc I've had good good experiences and one bad. The first time I stopped in, I had a lovely woman do a most excellent mani/pedi. They have great color options and the regular polish lasted a long time. The waxing and threading services are quick and quite painless. She definitely knows what she's doing. This most recent time however, the gentleman did my gel mani. I typically don't do gel but with the holiday season, I have tons of events coming up so I needed something to last. Unfortunately, the mani was not up to par with previous services rendered. The gel was so thick on my pinky finger that it chipped that night :( I haven't had time to stop by since, but they're all so nice that I know they would do me right. $20 bucks for a decent mani - pedi is cool with me. My toenail polish always lasts at least 2-3 weeks and my nails last well over a week. I wouldn't recommend getting gels here, every time I go there is someone in there coming back to get something fixed. Like another reviewer mentioned, they don't use whatever bonding agent that gels usually use. Sometimes their little teaser massage is pretty good and I will spring for a chair massage. I also get my eye brows threaded here. It can get a little busy (and stinky!) when the lady who does acrylics is there. Those chemicals are so abrasive, I prefer to go when they are offering their less noxious services only. All in all, I come here for the basics and it's fine. I broke one acrylic nail and stopped in to have it replaced. The woman who helped me tried to glue another tip on top of the old nail without removing any of the old acrylic. I asked her to file it down first but she didn't seem to understand - she kept telling me it was "ok". Just received the most disrespectful and horrendous service, I can't believe I paid $125 for a fraud!!! My sister and I scheduled an appointment for the Balanced manicure and the full Enlightened pedicure with an extra charge for foot massages and essentials oil. My sister received a treatment of two hours and I received 40 minutes less than her with non of the extra treatments she received. The staff was rudely lying saying that I was late, that I received the same treatment in less time because her technician is less experienced??? (although she said she works there for 8 months and work as a technician for 2 years!!!), then they said that my technician is scheduled for another appointment and when I said that she didn't received anyone after me she said that by law she need to take a 30 minutes break (I sat there for 40 minutes and no other costumer came), then she said that it is my fault because I used the bathroom (I am pregnant and I went to the restroom for 1 minute and was accused of wasting time because of this). Peyton, the receptionist who continued to give us more an more excuses to why it was all my fault that I received almost half the treatment that my sister had was so unpleasant and I was shocked to pay such a high price of $125 and get this poor service! read more

I went in with my sister for a mani-pedi and during the process got a cuticle treatment for $7 and they told me it was $40 for a pedi and gel manicure plus the treatment was supposed to be $47 and for my sister it was $40 at the time of paying they charged me $113 for things I wasn't aware I was paying and they didn't tell me. I paid the money and when I was walking out, one of the lady who works there was following me out the store for a tip for her employees when I didn't even like the job they did. My manicure is all lumpy and uneven and the paint job wasn't even great, my nails are thicker than my eyebrows. I should have just went to my regular nail salon. I was looking forward to trying this place, but the gel manicure I received was very disappointing. It looks fine from a distance, but when you look closely the polish is applied unevenly, and the edges are not tidy at all. And now I'm stuck with it for two weeks, great. Hoping it peels off faster... the weird thing is my manicurist was very professional & appeared to be taking care in her application, so maybe their polish was just old? It did look like she was scraping the bottom of the bottle. On the upside, the neck massage she gave me along with the manicure was great! Too bad that's not why I was there...
