    I've always wanted to try this place because I heard it was good. They're always packed and often with a line waiting outside. I went around 5:00pm on a weekend and only had to wait about 10 minutes. I tried the classic ramen and I like that there were options on broth thickness and noodle thickness. I also liked that you could add a spice level - though this cost $1 more. After adding an egg which is $3 and another serving of pork $3 the ramen went from $15 to $22. If you want to add other items there's an extra charge. I found the ramen to be very tasty but needed a bit more broth which they would not provide. They can provide more noodles for an extra charge. I did not know about the C rating until after I ate there which was a little concerning. I definitely want to come back but might have to wait until that changes.

    Came home extremely after a run on a hot Sunday morning around 11:45am. The place wasn't too pack so the 3 of us were seated immediately. The menu is viewed by scanning a QR code and the choices simple And straight to the point. I ordered the tonkotsu chashu ramen (regular ramen has 2 slices, chashu has 6 for about $5 more). The fun thing here is almost everything is customizable. I got the thick noodles with standard broth flavor and thickness (you can get them with light or heavy). The meal came quick and all I can say is wow, the flavor was great! Noodles were so thick and delightfully chewy. I will say, get the extra serving of noodle if you have a bigger appetite. I finished halfway and asked for another serving, it was only $2.

    We walked in on a weekday and there was a wait. We added our name on the waitlist and had to wait outside because there was no waiting space inside. We were seated about 30 minutes later. The service is fast and the ramen is decent. I got the classic ramen and added an egg.

    Ramen Danbo has to be one of my top 5 ramen spots! I like how you can customize the noodles and broth to your liking. I was starting to think that I may not be a huge fan of ramen because the broth tends to be too rich/salty after the first few bites but Ramen Danbo changed my mind. I got the classic rekka with thin, firm noodles and a light broth. Noodles were perfectly al dente in a divine bowl of broth. Garlic lovers - do not miss out on the garlic paste topping that they offer on the table. I added a few spoonfuls to my broth and it gave it so much flavor. Cha shu was tender and flavorful but pieces were on the thinner side. I was regretting not getting the chashu-men which comes with six pieces of pork belly. They also offer kaedama, allowing you to order more noodles if you're still feeling hungry. Had a very satisfying meal here and I can't wait to be back!

    I previously reviewed Ramen Danbo as my favorite spot for authentic ramen in NYC. However, I went back recently for lunch and, to my and my husband's shock and disappointment, we saw that they now have a "C" health rating. That was hard to believe, especially since they had always maintained an "A." We had already spent time looking for parking, and since my husband was on his lunch break, we decided to go in anyway. Thankfully, we didn't get sick afterward. Still, we don't plan on returning until their rating improves. One lucky experience doesn't mean it's safe. We looked up their inspection report and saw the violation points. I'll post screenshots for reference. The ramen was still tasty, and we were fine after eating, but some noticeable changes have happened. First, there are no more physical menus. You have to scan a QR code at the bar or table, which I really dislike. Second, the tonkotsu pork belly portion has been reduced. It used to be a full circular cut, and during our visit in July 2025, it was just half a slice. That felt like a cheap move by the restaurant. If they're trying to cut costs because of lost business from the health downgrade, shrinking portions won't help bring customers back. Ramen Danbo needs to do better. We're genuinely disappointed and hope they return to proper health standards and full ingredient portions.

    The ramen is very good, but the C health rating is a huge issue which I wish I had seen before ordering. They've apparently had consistent, concerning violations leading to low health ratings for years now. Definitely wish I had been aware as I wouldn't have risked it!

    I stopped in for ramen at lunchtime this week. Perfect dish for the frigid temperatures! I ordered the miso ramen and added an extra $5 for the lunch special which included potstickers and two sides. The place is always crowded and there's a reason. It's consistently good! Service is efficient and the staff know how to get everyone in and out quickly. The place is small but the layout is great to accommodate the maximum customers. It's clean and airy.

    Date nights are always fun. We found this nice small cozy spot in Park Slope Brooklyn and got seated immediately. We were greeted with a smile by our waitress as she took our orders. We both ordered our ramen with boiled eggs, Karashi Takana (Pickled Veg), and nori. We also shared pan fried dumplings. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately they did not have any more canned sodas, so I had a glass of water to wash it down and he ordered a hot tea which needed sugar, and they didn't have any. It was also weird to order hot tea when we're already drinking hot broth from the ramen lol. All in all, I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice, cozy ramen spot. Happy eating :)

    Finally decided to check this place out after craving some ramen from back home. I've been to multiple locations in Vancouver before but this was my first time in NY. They have a virtual queue system where you sign up at the door and will receive a text when your table is near ready. I came here with a group of four on a cold Friday night and it was about 80 minutes. Similar to the Danbos in Vancouver, you can customize your ramen from the noodle type to noodle wellness and broth depth. This is a little overwhelming if it's your first time, I'd recommend getting the standard selections and then customizing on subsequent visits. I personally prefer the thick noodles and like to add an egg to my ramens. Great spot for tonkotsu ramen with rich and creamy broth whether you're solo to sit at the bar or with a group of friends.

    I've been to Ramen Danbo a few times now. Usually, there's a short wait, maybe 10 minutes. However, this past Sunday, I got seated right away. The only downside? I was by the door, so every time it opened, I got hit with a blast of cold air. I usually get the classic ramen, but I've noticed it gets way too salty after a few bites, which isn't my favorite. This time, I decided to try the miso ramen, and wow!!! It was so much better! It had great flavor without being overly salty. I added soft-boiled eggs and kikurage (extra charge for toppings). Drinking that hot broth on a freezing winter day just hits the spot. One thing that surprised me was that they don't have shichimi togarashi (Japanese chili pepper mix). I always add it to my ramen, and it's pretty standard at most places, so that was a bit disappointing. The restaurant is small, and it gets busy fast, but it's definitely worth checking out.

    I feel like it's getting better and better every time I come here. However I went on a weekend during lunch and they don't have the lunch set during this time. The spicy ones are spicier than it used to be before and the quality control is amazing because the ramen tastes just as good as it was before and service remained the same. I feel like I didn't notice the garlic paste on the side but I finally realized about it and it's ABSOLUTELY amazing. I love their reward program for the stamps on my Apple wallet and it makes me feel like coming here more for ramen since after 10 ramen bowls you get one for free! I know they said after 5 you can get free gyoza but the ramen is definitely why I come here. Now they have a waitlist outside and it helps me save some time before eating. It's getting more and more popular as days come by. The bar seating is great but they're also helpful to move you to a table if needed. There's a space inside the chairs to put your coats which is super neat! Really feels Japanese owned and the quality and service control is so great for an establishment that's been a staple in the neighborhood. The ramen went from $12 to $16 in a couple years but I cannot complain as the ramen is even better than it used to be. Thank you Ramen Danbo for continuing your legacy!

    Had a solid bowl of ramen here and appreciated that they had tomato ramen which I missed out on trying out in Tokyo. It totally works and I was glad I got to try it! Other than that Ramen Danbo seemed like your typical above average ramen joint. Would definitely come back!

    A "C" health code rating is inexcusable. While sometimes inconsistent, the vegan ramen was excellent, but I won't be back.

    I've only dined indoor the past couple of times we went and they asked to show proof of vaccination. Sorry I'm not sure if they need show of proof if sitting outside. Best to give them a call to find out.

    No long line, it's busy but spaced out enough to feel comfortable. The tables are very clean. The outdoor seating area is reinforced to help you feel safe as you eat.

Second: Got the yakitori platter, beef ramen (seasonal) and curry ramen and I'd personally pass on all of them. Their meats are over cooked which makes them tough. Both times the service was fine, I appreciate the call button so both don't have to wait for awkward timing issues. I do like the aesthetic of the place, especially with the privacy of the room shades/dividers. p.s. don't forget their slurp and win program! When you drink all the broth, there's a word on the bottom (or not) where you can get a free popcorn chicken/drink/etc for your next visit. I thought the chances would be pretty slim, but I got a drink voucher my second time!
