Kyuramen is a nice spot, and I love that it has private booth seating with curtains because sometimes I go out to eat alone and like private booth. You press the red button when you need to order or service. They also have tables for groups, so it's great whether you're coming alone or with family and friends. I ordered the Honeycomb Platter, which came with a variety of appetizers like shrimp tempura, popcorn chicken, and tofu. I got the Yin Yang Ramen which was very good. I am picky with ramen because sometimes I feel like the broth doesn't have flavor but their ramen was tasty and flavorful. For dessert I tried the matcha pudding with red beans and fresh milk. I'm giving this place 3 stars to split my reviews from 2 different times I went. The first time I'd give it 4 stars, but the second time I'd give it 2 stars. First: got combo B which was the perfect amount for 2 people since it included an appetizer, 2 ramens, 2 desserts and 2 drinks. Left very filled and happy. Would highly recommend their lemonade and Thai tea! The popcorn chicken is more batter than chicken, so it's good if you like more of a crunch. The tonkotsu and miso ramens were good, but not particularly notable. Kyuramen is a chain after all, so the food quality gives that same vibe as comforting when you're just craving some. Second: Got the yakitori platter, beef ramen (seasonal) and curry ramen and I'd personally pass on all of them. Their meats are over cooked which makes them tough. Both times the service was fine, I appreciate the call button so both don't have to wait for awkward timing issues. I do like the aesthetic of the place, especially with the privacy of the room shades/dividers. p.s. don't forget their slurp and win program! When you drink all the broth, there's a word on the bottom (or not) where you can get a free popcorn chicken/drink/etc for your next visit. This wasn't my first time eating at Kyu Ramen, but it was definitely my best experience there so far, and it felt worth sharing. I came here for dinner before heading to Barclays Center on a Friday night. I usually order their ramen but decided to try something different. I ordered the creamy udon with two shrimp tempura, mushrooms, and mentaiko (pollock roe). The udon was better than I expected. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. Came back to Kyuramen twice in 2 weeks last month! Initially we came after cheering at the marathon and to our surprise, two of the four bowls of ramen gave us free popcorn chickens on next visits. The ramen itself is also promising and served quickly after ordering. On both occasions everyone was satisfied with their orders. The second time I came was with the entire family. Five stars is really for the service the second time around- we had a lot of toddler/babies and we were a louder crowd but the servers were great and got us what we needed! On a blistery cold day two weeks ago, my friend and I had a very comforting lunch here. I like that they have booths with curtains, so you feel like you're in your own little bubble. We both opted for Combo A with Tokyo Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen, a steamed pork bao bun, and matcha pudding with red bean for $22.99, a really great deal. It's also pretty narrow inside but clean and they have booths like all the other Kyuramen locations. I tried their Amazing Lemonade which is sweet, tart, and has cucumber too. Their Yakitori Platter is a great pick to try a variety of Japanese skewers. We also ordered the Popcorn Chicken before diving into their Yin Yang Ramen and Curry Ramen with chashu. The Yin Yang is a bowl with two ramen options so you can try both flavors and it has chashu pork and shrimp tempura. The curry one has a thick curry sauce and isn't spicy. The ramen is just okay. It's not mind-blowing. They also have the popular omurice here which comes with demiglaze or curry sauce. The Tonkotsu Omurice comes over a bed of fried rice and the pork cutlet on the side. From the moment we walked in I was prepared to walk right out. The hostess just looked and stared at us. No hello no nothing so my so and I greeted him and his reply was "table for 2". I turned to my son and let him know I wasn't feeling here but he reminded me about how long it took for us just to find parking so we stayed. Maybe it's just their takeout but I didn't like this place. The steak skewers were super tough and the portions were very small. It tasted like shoe leather and was almost inedible. The pork buns were fine but also a small portion of meat compared to bun and a bit sweet and bland. The ramen was pretty good but again skimpy on the portions and not that much depth of flavor. The flavors were meh. Honestly I regret ordering from here and feel like it was a waste of money. I would not recommend to a friend. My brother's ramen meal (the chicken ramen), the broth was bothering his throat and he is not allergic to anything!
