A few of us were craving the Pastelon, since we are fans of sweet plantains, but sadly, they didn't have it available that evening. On the TVs, they were showing the World Cup in action. The match was Panama versus England. Fun times if you're into soccer. After looking over the menu, I was ready to order. My selection was Pollo Hawaiiano, a dish popular in Colombia. It consists of grilled chicken, bacon, melted cheese and pineapple sauce. Refried beans and rice were the sides. The dish itself was fine. The chicken was two thin pieces and a slice of ham cooked well with melted cheese on top. It was interesting to have pineapple sauce covering the protein. I believe it was my second time having a Colombian dish (first being 2012) so I had to get used with all the ingredients coming together with every bite. The rice was cooked very well, but the refried beans weren't completely mashed and needed salt. I ate everything except the beans since I was getting full. For a first timer, I thought it was good.
