So after working out, this was outside tempting me. They sell cheese, chicken, and beef empanads as well as alcapurrias. I tried the first 3 but did not try the last. I do want to next time I see the truck! So Filipinos have their own version of empanada with the biggest difference being the doughnut. Ours is thicker these are flaky and light and fried. Always good when things are fried! I really like the chicken (could really taste the adobo powder yum!) And the cheese. Very "pully" which i like. Lol the ground beef....hmmmm....not a big fan. I would have loved to taste an empanada with peril in it. Overall not bad though. I woukd definitely get it again! And next time try the alcapurrias.

Great food, great service! I tried both the chicken & the beef empanadas. Both are delicious, but the beef is my favorite!

They quickly moved us to a larger table when our party of 5 turned into 8 because of surprise guests! It was a long overdue reunion. A few of us were craving the Pastelon, since we are fans of sweet plantains, but sadly, they didn't have it available that evening. However, our kind server said we could order mofongo with the sweet plantains, so we decided to give it a try. We chose the steak strips and fried pork versions. Everything was delicious! We always enjoy the variety of the menu. Plus, the expanded dining room spaces make the restaurant very welcoming. Our party of 8 was treated well, and we all enjoyed our meals!

Since we were in the area and wanted to grab a small bite to eat, we decided to stop in. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and the restaurant smelled amazing, so we couldn't wait to grab a drink and order our favorites. We decided to sit at the bar, so we were given menus to look over and the bartender was very nice. I ordered the Spicy Passionfruit Margarita and my daughter ordered the Rican Rum Punch. Both were good but I enjoyed the Margarita much better! Since we weren't very hungry, we chose our favorites which were the Arroz con Gandules and the Relleno de Papa, which is a mashed potato ball filled with savory, ground beef. The food was flavorful and absolutely delicious! They also have a pink sauce, which is a ketchup/mayo mix, but it always pairs so well with the food. Everything was so good, we put in another order of both to take home lol. De Rican Chef never disappoints! After all these years, their food still tastes just as good as it did the first time we went! If you're looking for great, Puerto Rican food, definitely stop in!!!

So on a Thursday evening l picked up 2 combo specials from Capicu. It was Buy one get one free. Each combo was 22 dollars. I ordered off of the website for pick up. l ordered the Pernil (roasted pork) with white rice, beans and sweet plantains and my second combo was the pollo asado with rice with pigeon peas and tostones . On my way to pick up i got a call stating that they were out of the chicken (totally understandable since it was close to closing time ) So I opted for the beef empanadas. I appreciate the customer service of them calling me before I got there and giving me different options. Upon arrival I was uncomfortable with the smell. Not sure if it was old oil and grease but it was pleasant. I received my food (which was so plentiful when I checked in the car.) However , the smell of the food , was as if the oil that it was prepared with was old. Not pleasant at all. Smelled up my entire car. Finally home to taste the peril was just okay 4/10 it tasted old and like it in fact had been prepared or reheated with dirty oil. The sides and empanadas were not bad. 7/10

Pre-pandemic, this was a place where we would have dine-in visits with friends of ours from a social group or just the two of us. It was probably close to a year since we last appeared so it was time to stop by. Similiar to the past visits, I called in our orders. They greeted me promptly when I walked in where there was only one table occupied. Quick and easy. For our orders, which both served as dinner and lunch for work at our respective sites, we chose their Cubano sandwich with our usual sides (fries for myself and plantains for Sophia). As always, the sandwich was pretty good packed with ham and roasted pork, pickles, cheese and mustard (both had no mayo). I would've liked for more fries in the box, but I had enough for both servings. La Pena Horeb came through once again. You know I'll be ordering takeout from here down the road. Till next time :)

Their dishes are a mix of Colombian, Puerto Rican and Mexican. Let's see how my first time went. Our table was already seated when I walked in. The decor inside was beautiful and spotless. On the TVs, they were showing the World Cup in action. The match was Panama versus England. Fun times if you're into soccer. After looking over the menu, I was ready to order. My selection was Pollo Hawaiiano, a dish popular in Colombia. It consists of grilled chicken, bacon, melted cheese and pineapple sauce. Refried beans and rice were the sides. The dish itself was fine. The chicken was two thin pieces and a slice of ham cooked well with melted cheese on top. It was interesting to have pineapple sauce covering the protein. I believe it was my second time having a Colombian dish (first being 2012) so I had to get used with all the ingredients coming together with every bite. The rice was cooked very well, but the refried beans weren't completely mashed and needed salt. I ate everything except the beans since I was getting full. For a first timer, I thought it was good. The dish didn't blow me away, but the service we receive was really good. So I'll give them another shot :)
