Authentic EL Salvadoran food... Was in the neighborhood and wanted to try something different.. Lucita's had a lot of positive reviews, so I had to try it out... I was not disappointed. Ordered the chicken and jalapeño pupusa and a horchata drink. The pupusas were great especially with the hot sauce that gave them that extra kick of flavor.. it came with a side of pickles cabbage that was just okay. The Horchata tasted great as well.. We had Lucita's Pupusa's from their food truck at the Farmers market. They had a nice amount of people lined up at their truck, so I had to check them out.. The owner was friendly, he answered all my questions. I ordered the al pastor fries, chips and salsa and cream stuffed churros. The fries were good, but a little bland. Just a little seasoning or sazon would definitely elevate them. But they did look good!! It's a $3 upcharge to add chips, salsa, and a drink to your meal. I enjoyed the churro. It was hot, crispy, and fresh. I'd get the churros again. It would be even better if they had a dipping sauce to go with them. They're dry, so caramel, chocolate, or vanilla would make them pop!! My friend got the beef tacos. She was a little disappointed because they were soggy and the beef didn't taste seasoned. She also couldn't get just one taco or mix and match. 3 tacos was the only option. The wait time was about 5-7 minutes which was a reasonable amount of time considering the line. I've had their pupusa's before also, which are good and come with a slaw on the side and sauces. The foods ok and they have good customer service. Check them out!! When I can find small family owned spots, I jump on it! I reached out to Lucita's Pupiseria to see if they had gluten free options, they responded "Yes our pupusas are gluten free." (**remember to use caution as it's not a dedicated GF space) so when we wanted to order out we knew we had to try Lucita's Pupuseria. OMG everything was delicious! I couldn't decide what I wanted to I went with 3 different pupusas, frijol, pollo, and espinaca. I can't decide which one I like best! It came with salsa and pickled slaw which were equally delicious! My husband ordered the quesadilla and said it was the best one he has had. He ordered it with steak and you could tell they cooked it on a grill top. He loved it and it did look amazing. I enjoyed my dinner at Lucita's Pupuseria. I ordered 3 pupusas. One was chicken , pork, and cheese. They were all filled with delicious portions. I especially recommend the chicken pupusa. I can not rave enough about this wonderful and authentic family run establishment. The food was just phenomenal. If you're unfamiliar with a Pupusa, it's a South American dish served hot; think about it as a soft shell taco-like-pita that's fully enclosed and stuffed with meats, veggies, and/or cheeses of your choosing. The ones served at Lucita's are large and stuffed full; and most of them cost $12 for 3 of your choosing (you can mix and match). I went with the chicken, the pork, and the spinach pupusas for takeout, and 15 minutes after picking them up and I bit into my first one, they were still piping hot and served alongside a very light vinegar (?) slaw and a small cup of a very spicy hot sauce I was unfamiliar with but loved. All three pupusas weee bursting with distinctly different savory flavors. The interior of the restaurant is clean and full of memorabilia from El Salvador- flags, paintings, and art - and wonderful people and families enjoying a meal. The staff was friendly, bilingual, and really wonderful people with whom to interact, practice my Spanish with (thanks for being so gracious!) and relatively quick getting such delicious and made to order food. This is a cute little restaurant that is deceptively busy. There weren't many people here while we were eating, but there was a steady stream of people getting food to go. The food was amazing! I ordered three pupusas (one pork, one chicken, and one chicken with jalapeños). I thought I'd easily be able to finish them...I was wrong lol. It's a lot more food than it seems like it should be. The pupusas were good (the 1.5 that I ate). The chicken was better than the pork in my opinion, but the pork was still tasty. I didn't even get a chance to try the chicken and jalapeño one. The pickled cabbage with salsa (shown in the white dish) is excellent to eat with the pupusas. It adds a pleasant crunch and freshness. I took my leftovers home (hopefully they heat up well). The waiter was gracious enough to give me a new container of the cabbage/salsa mixture too. The horchata was excellent too. It tasted a little different than the horchata I've had at Mexican restaurants. Another nice feature is the menus are in English and Spanish. Overall, this is a great local restaurant. read more

So disappointing!!! We ordered super baleadas (3) orders on DoorDash , the cheese was spoiled , rotten and all 3 of us had at least one bite when I realized it was off now my husband and my son can't stay out of the bathroom and I am extremely nauseous! My favorite dishes are the desayuno platos, the tacos, and the baleadas. The horchata is also excellent - not too sweet and just the right balance of cinnamon. This place is unassuming in a little strip off of South Military Highway. The decor on the inside was so beautiful. My waitress was nice and very attentive. She answered my questions and was so polite, like I honestly appreciated that. Now on to the food!!! Man....this food was so delicious that I had the itis afterwards. I have never had Salvadori and food before, so I have nothing really to compare it to other than other Latin American food. The servers were super nice and very helpful and seem to appreciate my feeble attempts to speak Spanish with them. At my servers recommendation I tried the pupusa revuelta. For those wondering what a pupusa is, think "stuffed taco." Mine was stuffed with pork, cheese and refried beans. It came with a side of slaw and I topped it with their homemade hot sauce. The pupusa was great, not too heavy and very flavorful. For desert I tried the quatro leches. A tres leches cake with an added topping of caramel. It was very good and surprisingly light. Oh, it was a huge serving! A new restaurant, it has only been opened about 8 weeks, Lucita's is well worth a try. The prices are very good and servings are generous. Go and give them a try read more

The food didn't last long enough for the photo op! This was our first time trying pupusas so we did a lot of research on where we wanted to go. That being said, I don't have a baseline to claim that these are the best ever (as I've only ever had theirs) but they were absolutely delicious. We opted for a variety: bean, cheese, jalapeño cheese, chicken, pork and shrimp. My personal favorites were the bean and jalapeño and cheese but there wasn't one we didn't like. They were piping hot when we got them and stayed hot the whole car ride home (about 20 min). They separated the meat options from the vegetarian options (we didn't ask for this but it was a nice consideration). Next time we're bringing the family because the food really was amazing! I've tried most of their pupusas and I can tell they are fresh. The taste is on point. Mind you, I'm Salvadoran so I would know if this place has good pupusas or not.
