I was so impressed with the tacos the last visit that i had to come back for more. I will say it wasn't the same experience as the 1st time. The tacos weren't as flavorful, they weren't hot, and it was about a 10 minute wait. The wait wasn't a problem but i did expect the food to be hot since we were already there. The tortillas got limp and it was downhill from there. But when they're hot and fresh they really are good!!! I also got beans and rice. It was a very small portion and they spilled in the bag because he put my order and my daughters order in the same bag and it was just too much. So the box got smashed and opened and the rice and beans spilled inside... Bummer!! It had to just be an off day. I will still continue to eat here because I'm hoping the next visit will be better. You can't beat Taco Tuesday $1.25 tacos. Check them out!!

5/5 !!! I came across this restaurant looking for something to eat while my car was being worked on Across the street. Roberto greeted and helped me instantly upon walking in. He helped recommend what I should order based on what I was craving. He was very attentive, and being from Cali it's hard to find a family owned good Mexican spot. I will DEFINITELY be returning to try other menu items like pupusas and their pozole! The restaurant was quite but intimate and it was clean and well stocked. Definitely recommend Nico's!!!

Unassuming from the outside but cute on the inside, you get transported to an interior that reminds you of a Mexican hut/counter look, with streamers, piñatas in a corner. Very friendly staff greets you with a welcoming smile. I ordered the chorizo breakfast tacos, come in 3. I ordered carryout, was ready in 10 minutes. They gave chili and green sauce. The tacos were still warm when I got home. Super delicious and fresh ingredients!

    Kids chicken quesadilla

Walked in and we waited for about 3 mins before we were helped. Gentleman, named Robert was the host/waiter. Very nice and explained the restaurant to us and who owned it and how family oriented it is. Ordered the regular burrito, kids quesadilla with chicken, caldo de res, un taco de lengua, guacamole and queso. Despite it taking a little long for the food to come out, when it did- it did NOT disappoint. It was fresh, hot and the portions are huge for the amount it cost. There was flavor in every bite. The house salsas were very good, I enjoyed the spicy red one and the tang of the salsa verde. The meat in the Caldo was fall off the bone tender, I wish I got more veggies but it already came with so much, I just love veggies. The chicken in the burrito had so much flavor in it and my husband tends to be skeptical on trying new places and he said we'll definitely be back! The tres leches cake was so good, we ate it before we remremembered to take a photo. Robert also gave us some Mexican candy to try as we left the establishment. Also, there's a store in it to browse at things if you wanted to.

They've got super fun authentic chips, candies and drinks to check out.

As a San Diego taco snob it is difficult to find an east coast place that "tastes like home". Nico's Tacos is THE REAL DEAL! I had the asada California Burrito and it was tender and delicious. Definitely filled the craving I've had for one since moving from San Diego! The fries are present but not too noticeable which I really liked, the perfect fry balance. They have a great collection of fun chips and drinks. I got the mango Boing and it was the perfect amount of sweet for a nectar drink. For sure our go-to taco/burrito joint in the area now!

I'm wild about taco's. I have to say this place is my favorite. There is alot of Mexican restaurant in our area. I keep coming back to Nico's. So I am working my way through the menu. I started out simple with a beef taco, a chicken tostada and a California burrito. This is enough for 2 people. Very filling. Make sure when you get the taco you get the corn tortilla it adds great flavor. The California burrito comes with fries and I love to dip them in the amazingly fresh and tasty guacamole. They have a good selection of sodas and drink that are different. My husband and I get 2 different ones so we can try 2 different drinks everytime. This is just a fun side note to the uniqueness of Nico's

Nice little hole on the wall. Owner was very nice and the tacos were the best in the area. Homemade flour and corn tortillas. Salsa was amazing. Sauces were on point. Tortilla chips were homemade and warm! 10/10

Here's the deal: Jessy's is located in a small shopping strip. While the building is a little older I did not think l it run down or in a part of town that I would consider questionable at all. I saw at least one review that noted this- could not disagree more., nothing to fear here. Plenty of parking and it's free! Once inside the restaurant is medium sized with seating for at least 15 parties and tables that can accommodative larger parties, 10+ people. There are two order stations at either side of the restaurant - one for hot food the other for ice cream and desserts. Service was friendly and attentive. You can choose to self order for takeout or be waited on. While staff wait on and bring you food and drink, pay is self pay at the food order counter. The menu is larger and has something for everyone. Proteins are optional for nearly every dish. The food here is authentic with lots of protections including some of my favorites- Al pastor and chicken tinga. Chips and salsa are scratch made and fresh- very good. We had street tacos which were very flavorful and also scratch cooked including the corn tortillas. Served with traditional hot sauces to add that little extra heat- awesome. The Al pastor was not grilled to get that char that some Al pastor dishes have but was otherwise spot on. Chicken tinga was perfect. If you are looking for authentic Mexican at reasonable prices, this is your place and absolutely worth a few minutes drive over. Hope to see you there sometime- happy eating!

Happy hour was 3-6pm I think, and there were 2 taco specials on the board. I'm not sure if it was valid or not.. There was one person at the bar taking orders, serving drinks, and pretty much running the place. She was very busy. The anxiety of watching her try to handle everything made me a little uncomfortable. She was doing her best, and kuddos to her for not flipping a table and walking out. She was nice, but she asked us every 3-4 minutes if we knew what we were ordering. It was very aggravating. I don't think she realized after several times we were over it. The inside is pretty much a bar setting with a few booths. It's very dated and low-key kind of gloomy inside. I'd say this is a bar for locals, not really a restaurant. It's definitely the kind of food you could eat if you had a few drinks, maybe. But sober, heck no!! Lol. Ugh. I was excited to try them because they have some 5 star reviews, but it wasn't what I expected. When it was time to eat she went and got the cook from outside. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, and chicken nachos. We left and came back to pick up our order and the seats at the bar was packed at this point. The waitress met us as we walked in, with our food. I was hungry, so I tried the food in the car. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and thick as heck. It looked decent kinda sorta, in a way, maybe, just a little bit. Idk what to say. The fries were crispy but awkwardly greasy!! There was one tiny tomato on my burger and a huge onion that was a little moldy. I've never seen someone use a slice of onion this big on a burger. The burger definitely needed seasoning. I think if it had flavor it would have been decent. I'll give the burger a 4/10. My sister got the chicken nachos and she was not happy. Whatever mystery beans they had made were disgusting. They tasted old or something was off about them. The guacamole was a little sour tasting also, and the chicken was flavorless. She tried so hard to make it work, she even re-cooked the beans and it just didn't help. 2/10!!! She spent $25 and felt it was the worse decision she made all day. I wish I was exaggerating or something, but this is actual factual. The prices are reasonable, I'll say that. But it's definitely certain things to stay away from on the menu. I don't think we'd ever return. Maybe the tacos are better than what we had ordered. If you're looking for a drink maybe things would be better. I think they specialize in drinks over food!?

It's a bar a little dive kinda spot I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger for my boy, the grilled chicken nachos for myself. I can appreciate that they didn't put the toppings on the nachos or burger. My sister has gotten some kind of burger also lol. I get dropped off gave my son his food looks like it's about to be good lol until he heats it up for a second, I put all the fixings on my nachos right. Believing things was about to hit smh nope.. my kid said mom I appreciate you bringing me something to eat home but.... The burger tastes like nothing was like chewing sawdust bacon was the only thing to taste alright, fries were ok though. now lol for my nachos looks can be deceiving. My lettuce was brown and wilted, was supposed to be like a refried beans I guess ‍ they were kidney beans looked those. When i say they smelled like I was taken back by the look of things but when my crazy self tasted that mess my lawdt smh had my stomach doing flips. Also the guacamole tasted like that was old and sour. I have had guac with too much lemon or lime juice in it, this was like past its time only looked ok due to the lemon juice or whatever. Will not be doing that again. The ambiance was chill a few of those slot games bar area in the middle of the place a few tables around it nothing to really hype up. I will say even though we didn't care for what we had, maybe it was a bad day. ‍ Who knows other things may be good if we stop past that beauty store again, I'd go and try the lumpia or fried fish taco. Was told that they taste really good. lol honestly y'all go be the judge for yourselves could have been an off day.
