I got a men's haircut and things already started bad. My barber instantly started going incredibly quick with a razor, messily shaving my head. While she was razoring my head aggressively, she SHAVED OFF A CHUNK OF MY EYEBROW. She then accidentally shaved off ANOTHER chunk of my eyebrow. I am not sure about their other services, but I would look elsewhere if you are want a short haircut (keep your eyebrows intact). I also came back asking if she could fix it. She shaved off more of my eyebrow. No refund was issued lol read more

I had such a disappointing experience today. I asked for an A-line cut with the back short and the front longer (this cut works best for my face shape). I continually asked the stylist to keep cutting the back shorter (which she did), but suddenly she cut the front of my hair way two inches shorter than I wanted. What frustrated me was that she nodded when I told her I wanted my front to stay a certain length (e.g. longer than my chin). By the time I noticed the front cut, it was already too late. When I returned home I noticed there was very poor execution on the cut itself (aside from it not being what I wanted). Random strands are way shorter than others for no reason. To the salon: In the future, confirm what their clients really want before making drastic cuts. For visitors: Bring a reference photo and ensure communication is very solid - e.g. ask them to repeat what you asked for to confirm understanding. I've had good cuts here before, which makes this visit especially disappointing. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

I bought gift cards for my kids for Christmas for us to get pedicures before a trip. When I booked the appointment, I asked if we could get them done at the same time. She told me yes and I explained that we needed to be done at a certain time. She assured me we would be done on time. When I came in, they could only do 2 at once and started late so rushed through and I didn't get mine done at all. No apologies, no explanation. So I was visiting my mom and decided to get my hairs did while I was in town. 2 years earlier, the day before my son was born, I had my friend hack off all the pink in my hair (almost 2', still had a lot of hair left), because it was high maintenance. Cut to now (Jan 2025) and I told the stylist lady, who was very nice but I never actually learned her name, that my hair was a disaster because I never wash or brush it, which is only a slight exaggeration. I told her I missed the pink and could she bleach it for me so I could put pink in. (I brought in accompanying reference photo where it's like the bottom 6" are dyed pink and the rest is blond and roots) but I also said I thought I wanted it "balayage-style," because that's what my friend said I wanted. Vibe-wise, the salon is very nice and offers all sorts of services of which I would've partaken had I been visiting for longer. She asked if she could cut some off to "make it look better." I said "sure." Because it's hair and it will grow back. Besides--as I said earlier--I still have the aforementioned baby and he is STILL a massive amount of work to keep alive, so I usually just keep my hair in a braid and ignore it. My mom was very upset at the amount of length she took with the instructions I gave. It's more than I thought it would be and a bit more than I expected, but I'm not mad. So I took off a star for that. It DOES look nice and it is so much less work, even just washing it. So maybe she gave me not what I asked for but what I needed? I requested she leave enough length that I still be able to braid it and I CAN still braid it technically. She said she didn't get as much lift as she wanted from the bleaching so she had me come back, FOR FREE, to get it even lighter at the ends. (You can see the ends are quite brassy in the "at home" pic. That's not on her. My hair just hella dark.) Anyway, I added a star back for her doing a whole second day of work and processing for basically no money. I don't have any pics of it post-2nd bleaching, because I immediately went back to my mom's place and dyed it pink, because 2 days was the absolute maximum amount of time I was willing to spend being blond. Gentlemen may prefer it, but I refuse to give my MIL the satisfaction. read more

I've been getting my hair cut at Nancy's for over 5 years. It was close proximity to my office and I could get in around lunchtime or mid afternoon pretty easily by calling in on the weekday. As we know business has been a little tough for folks in the service sector during COVID and I came to get a cut right after they opened back up in Feb. They were adhering to all protocols and all people inside were wearing masks. Same good service as always and still got my nice head massage shampoo to go with my cut. They were not even close to finishing with other clients and kept telling me they will be done soon which was obviously not true and confirmed by the client that they were working on. Received the worst haircut of my life here. Total nightmare. I went in for a trim 7 months ago on my long, beautiful hair that I had spent years maintaining. In 30 minutes, Nancy reduced it to a jawline mullet. I cried for days at losing all the work I put into my long hair. I was really clear that I wanted to take 1.5 to 2 inches off at most. I showed her the picture of my hair and showed her where I wanted my hair to fall. She didn't listen at all and just cut it how she wanted. Part way through the haircut, when I realized she had already cut the bottom layer way shorter than I wanted, I repeated, "that's enough, no shorter" and she kept insisting she needed to add layers, and she just kept cutting and cutting. "It looks good shorter" she said, even though I made it clear I wanted to keep it long. 7 months later, and I still can't get a hair cut. The layers were so terribly done, the front is still so short that I can't get it fixed without losing more length. I will probably have to wait until the 12 or 18 month mark to get this fixed. The back of my hair still looks like a tail unless I lay it over my shoulders. Ladies with long hair be forewarned: Nancy may not listen to you at all. read more

TIP don't use their online appointment service. They don't check it even when it's scheduled way in advance with a confirmation and everything. It looks online like they have so many spots open but since they don't really check it, it's not accurate. This happened to me and while I was there another guy came in that made an online appointment and he wasn't seen because they said they didn't see it. Calling is the best/only way to make a real appointment. I've come here three now and had haircuts from 2 women (can't remember their names but was not Nancy). The treatment for the shampoo and scalp scrubbing for 10 minutes was nice but both times the hair cut and dry were underwhelming. It wasn't terrible just not amazing either. I asked the last time not to straighten my hair but she still went for it. My hair was super soft right after but when I washed it myself a couple days later my hair was really dry for 2 weeks. If you're on a budget it's a great place to get a trip and awesome scalp massage but I probably won't be returning because of how dry my hair was afterwards and the bangs that she cut went too far back in my scalp, I was not thrilled about the style afterwards. read more

I asked for a half inch trim with the bangs to my eyebrows and she cut off 2 inches of hair, cutting my bangs to the middle of my forehead. She also thinned out my hair very close to the scalp so I have short hairs sticking out. She didn't talk to me the entire haircut even when drastically changing my hairstyle. This is thee place for a hairwash. The do a scalp massage and a mini neck and shoulder massage. The last time I was here, Vee helped me and she scratched my head so much that it was tingling for hours after!!! We're hear today for The Earl's haircut and I'm getting the hair wash and blow dry. I can't freaking wait! UPDATE: Yeah, so it wasn't like last time. My hair wash was 10 minutes with no scalp scrubbing and scratching! Totally disappointed.
