Nancy Russell Property Management was in charge of placing us in our new home and taking care of the paperwork before introducing us to the owner to take over. After viewing the property with Paul, we went to the office to apply in person with Jessica and Robin. The application process was smooth and we were able to get the keys on the projected move in date. The team is friendly and personable with the office having a casual and inviting atmosphere. It was nice to see that this is a family business. Robin is the mother, and Paul and Jessica are siblings. We felt comfortable and at ease throughout the process. read more

Let me tell you a story, it might feel like you're in the twilight zone. We called on the property at 3706 Yale Drive to try and get a look at it. They tell us to make sure we drive by the neighborhood and see it and make sure we can handle parking. Ooh Kay? When we drive by and check it out... it's fine. On a positive note, the property is in a nice location and seems like parking isn't too much of an issue. So we call and schedule an appointment for 3:15pm the following day. We call and confirm said appointment for 3:15pm the following day. All good, right? Well, if you're familiar with SoCal traffic, you know you can get hung up... we showed up EXTREMELY TARDY at 3:20pm. No one is there. We call up and ask and they tell us the agent is here, and they just spoke with them. Funny... no one was there? They (must have been Robin) put us on hold and tell us the agent left at 3:20 and we weren't on time. So they left at 3:20, we got there at 3:20... I didn't see any cars leave or enter... my whole way in. They then tell us he got there at 3pm in case people were early so he was there for 20minutes waiting for us. and kept stressing how late we were were. She states that it's like a doctors appointment, you show up early (really?) Ok fine, can they come back to show it? He JUST LEFT a few min ago. And here is where I call BS - they said he had to leave at 320pm to get to a 330pm appointment "deep in Oceanside" - sooooo we would get 5 minutes to look at the entire 3br property if we got there at 315? She says "well, it's small so people can quickly go through it and grab a rental application" - sorry... but I have about 211 questions I ask the broker before I will rent a place... that's called smart shopping. Finally, after a constant back and forth they finally tell us "maybe this isn't a good fit for you" U know... ur right... and we had you on speaker phone with the other couple who showed up at 320pm that you bounced on as well. Not sure it was a good impression... but judging by some of the other reviews, something is definitely rotten in Denmark. This property might have been on Yale Drive but it sure felt stupid dealing w these folks. read more

Unprofessional. I called on a Tuesday to inquire about a 1 bedroom apartment for rent and they told me that they have one application that they are processing, so I can call back Friday to see if that applicant followed through with the rental process. They wrote my name down and said I'd be the next applicant in line. I call Friday to see if the apartment is available and it is! I set up to view the property Saturday and tell them I'll have my application and money order ready. I drove an hour and a half to their office and they were closed, they didn't answer the phone, and they had no mailbox for me to submit my application. Office hours on the door states that they are closed weekends. Maybe, the employee was unaware that when I said "tomorrow", it was Saturday. So, I email them some of my documents, and leave the application and money order with someone who was able to drop it off on Monday morning. Robin sends me an email reply on Sunday. "Im sorry but we have accepted another application. If it falls through we will call you...Thank you". How did you accept another application when 1. The office was closed 2. I was calling all week and was told I was next to be processed ?? I wrote back "That's very unfortunate, I live in Los Angeles county and I've been calling all week to ensure that the apartment was still available. I also made the hour &a half drive to turn my application in on Saturday. Please, call me as soon as possible if this other applicant doesn't go through with the apartment. Do you have an estimate of how many days it'll take for this applicant's approval?" Robin writes me back "Sorry, our phones have been down all week." Which was not true. I REALLY wanted this apartment, so on Monday I call the office and a woman answers, says it's available, and I can view it at 3pm that day. I go to the property and there were 15 other people viewing the property! There's a man there handing out applications, so I tell him "I'm confused! You guys said you process the applications one at a time and that mine was next. He said "we decided we'll gather all the applications and go through them with the property owner and she'll choose the best one. For $40 each application, I'm sure they collected. I got the run around, save your time and don't do business with them!! read more

Nancy Russell is run by an extremely friendly family, Robin and her two children, Jessica and Paul. They were a joy to work with from beginning to end. I wanted a duplex that was vacant and Robin made it happen. She not only helped me get into my new place, but she also guided me on how to get my security deposit from my previous landlord, who was not following the law. Robin informed me of the law and with her help, I was able to get back my full deposit. The whole family is a delight. Paul and Jessica are both very sweet and friendly, yet totally professional at the same time. I was very comfortable in my home. If I needed anything, their handy man would come and fix it. I dealt with two handyman and both were competent and super friendly as well. Thank you so much Robin, Jessica, and Paul for making my rental experience so worry-free. I sent a text trying to reach someone after July 4th holiday, the owner, Robin brag about how it was a good thing she was the owner & broker with lol next to her message. It was sending me a negative tone that she controls who she rents to. I never met this woman nor have I ever spoke to her. It was an odd thing to say and it hinder on unfair housing practice. It was biased and border on discrimination behavior. When I decided I wasn't going to take that the owner got rattled and threatened me with harassment but I never harassed her. This is serious when people are looking for a place to live and must be professional at all times. Where do license brokers have the right to say to perspective tenants looking or inquiring about a unit to tell them It's a good thing I'm the owner & broker. I don't get the joke or the reference at all. Is this how California people behave with money? I'm very disappointed. I will live. I think she had too many drinks. read more

This is the viewpoint from the daughter whose Mother lives in the rental property managed by NRPM. This is probably 3rd or 4th dealing with them directly and it's never been pleasant one. This last one was with because of water flow issue toilet tank on a Sunday. I emailed them as their vmail requested expecting a "very quick response" as stated. 8 HOURS LATER.. only after I left a voicemail requesting someone call me back immediately because of my 86 year Mother who turned off her water who was worried about the water running that she would have been responsible for paying. The email states a Plummer would come in the morning... mind you no time listed. A couple of emails the next morning to find out the Plummer is able to come by 2pm. For anyone who has to deal with them, please document EVERYTHING THING and if you are family, be involved as much as you can. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!! read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone. Unprofessional people. Do not just talk to these people... make sure everything is in writing and make sure it is notarized or certified. Make sure you take their papers to a lawyer to read it over. They are constantly moving and they do not stay in one place. Just beware of this so called property management. read more

They were very rude on the phone inquired about a property for rent, I left message they never returned my call, I finally had to send an email to Robin she returned my email I asked If i could get a showing on a rental but she never returned my email very unprofessional would never do business with these people I can tell already they have a lot of problems. read more

Avoid doing business with these people at all costs. They are the most unprofessional and shady group I have ever come across. I rented an office from them and had nothing but problems from day 1. They did absolutely nothing that they committed to. Instead of being responsible for their inaction, they just blame the building owner (who pays them for property management services)! Oh, and the best part, when things go wrong and you need to talk to someone, Robin and Paul will disappear! At first they are nice and all smiles. Afterwards, they hide in their office behind their receptionist, and are always unavailable. The only way you can communicate with them is by email. Absolute cowards! It's been almost 2 months since I moved out and they still haven't sent me my deposit! If they are representing a property you want to rent....RUN AWAY!!!! read more

Robin is absolutely fantastic! She truly cares about her tenants and property owners! She is an incredible advocate and always responded to our concerns quickly and with immediate action. HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!!! Do not even CONSIDER checking out a property if you see this name as the management company. I can't even begin to tell you how much they don't care about the tenants or the property!!! Slab leak with flooding in the backyard for YEARS that they wouldn't even look at...when they FINALLY did, they left huge holes with the eroded, exposed, busted pipes unattended in the yard. Never fixed the sprinkler system....brilliant repair by turning system off!! Slab leak in the front and in the house took 14 days to be addressed after threatening that I would have to pay for the inspection if it truly was not a leak?!?!?!??! Unbelievable...then another 4 days to patch the walls inside and NEVER inspected for mold...even after I told them I was asthmatic. Robin is inconsistent with responding to emails, maintenance requests and follow through. I had to repair the dishwasher on my own twice. Always an excuse why they couldn't come out and check or repair. Plumbing issues since the 2nd day I moved in...they don't care about anything except getting the rent check. It is too bad too, because her daughter Jessica is delightful to work with but has to do and say what her horrible mom tells her to. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. read more

We have had a great experience with NRPM. We moved to San Diego from NJ and saw the house in a crunch. The worked with us from across the country getting the application, lease and security deposit. Communications have always been quick and pleasant. When small repairs have come up it has been easy to fix. We love our home and hope to stay for a while. read more

Nancy Russell is the worst Property Manager. We rented a place from them for 3 years. They are unprofessional, inflexible and they do not know what they are doing. They do not fix things that they are required to fix such as the heating and slow plumping. The roof was leaking and ceiling falling in and they did not fix. They blame their actions on the owners. If I was a property owner I would definitely change my property manager. read more

I would just like to thank Nancy, Robin and Paul for renting to us. I had called Paul a week before I had to move, he told me the house wasn't cleaned yet but will be before I moved in. I scheduled a showing with Nancy on 4/7/14, we applied the same day and were approved within 24 hours, 3 days later they gave us our key. Nancy told us they would paint, patch up the holes and would shampoo the dog smell out of the carpet before our move in. They did fix the holes, they painted certain areas and had a man work on the backyard. The carpets didn't seemed shampooed and does smell like dog still but they did a lot in those 4 days considering my time crunch. We invested in a kirby vacuum/ shampooer last weekend so the dog smell is slowly getting better. The staff is extremely nice, considerate and turn around time is awesome. If I email a question or concern, Robin literally responds to my emails within 5 minutes. She also told us to write down all things that need fixing/repairing and send to her. I mailed them a list on 4/18. My husband noticed mites on the window sill last week, within 4 hours they had pest control come and take care of it and Robin deducted 2 days off our first months rent which we really appreciate it.
