Lifescape breakfast and lunch here for seniors. Don't come like at 1 though, a half hour before closing, or the older waitress will let you know her disapproval. And each time I've been there, the Lifescape donation box is stuffed so full that anything you put in can be immediately removed. By someone. Hmm. It's definitely not winning any awards. 12 bucks for a very small 2 egg house skillet. 3.50 for 3 tiny pieces of bacon. 3.00 for a maybe 10 oz orange juice. Wife had French toast, very plain no butter, no powdered sugar. No fresh fruit for the kid, they do have some fruit , but it's just frozen strawberries and blueberries. If your looking for a basic breakfast and don't mind overpaying a bit it's an okay place. Been here a few times and seems to be getting worse each time. I was confused coming here. The directions put me around the corner. I did not realize there were two parts to it, the bar and restaurant. The sign for this place was over the bar and it looked closed as I here for breakfast. The open sign was off and the hours of operation showed 11-til. I poked my head and saw a woman dancing so I interrupted her and inquired and she said they were open. Only after I walked in did I understand. read more

Our party arrived and were personally greeted by the owner Dan who made sure we were well taken care of. Our food options revolved around bar food, excellently prepared. We all enjoyed burger and fries; tasty and perfectly cooked. These days it's rare to get a restaurant burger that's really fresh but these certainly were. Highly recommended. read more

Nice little surprise in this small town. We ordered off the lunch menu- a wedge salad with grilled chicken & chopped steak with fried okra. The chopped steak was very tasty & the fried okra was probably the best Ive ever had! The chicken didn't have much flavor and the wedge salad seemed more like a Cobb salad. That would be my only critique for the food. Homemade Strawberry shortcake for dessert was delicious. Prices were very reasonable & they have a good variety on the menu. Stopped I last Saturday morning as we set out for a beautiful crisp autumn morning motorcycle ride. The reviews I read were exactly right... My wife had an amazing omelette that was not what she expected. The contents were not cooked into the eggs like normal, but the eggs wrapped the contents. Very good either way. I had a skillet with all the normal fixins, and homemade biscuits and gravy on it. OUTSTANDING! We will be back, as it is only about 5 miles from home read more

Coffee was average. We tried the biscuits and gravy omelettes out of curiosity, but it was uninspiring. Also had a build your own omelette which I suspect was made with processed cheese slices. The American fries were good but the hashbrowns were lacking. The toast however was exceptional. read more

My family stopped in as we were passing through from Galena to Chicago. We'd rather support a small business so we bypassed McDonalds and wandered into The town of Winnebago. We saw homemade biscuits and gravy advertised in the window and we were sold. My teenage son enjoyed a cheeseburger and a double order of crinkle fries. I'm always on the hunt for homemade corn beef hash- they have it here! I thought it could be more chopped up, but clearly fresh and delicious. My husband gobbled up the biscuits and gravy OMELETTE! Who knew this was a thing? Delicious. My daughter enjoyed the chocolate chip Swedish pancakes. We all decided this will be THE place we stop for a meal en route to or from grandma's house. read more

This restaurant is snugged tight in the Winnebago downtown strip. The smell when entering the restaurant never seems to leave you. The food is bland with over cooked items. It used to be a five star but has quickly died off. read more

We live in Winnebago and since Sullivan's stopped their breakfast, it was either Kennedy's or drive to Mr. C's. We got there about 7:15. The lady (maybe) sitting at a huge table eating on her computer, said to sit wherever. We were greeted by Dana, who brought the coffee out right away. I have to say there was 1 table of 2, that came in after us. We both had the 2 eggs, bacon, hash brown and toast. A lot of food, right? I took a pic of my food that came out, I would have been embarrassed to take that to any table. Since she put in the wrong meal, it only came with 1 egg, she seemed confused and we got another egg, and was charged for it. Which I don't mind but no apology from the server instead of asking the kitchen to add another egg. She had to study the receipt, to see what it said. Eggs came out about 10 min later. We didn't really want the other egg, since we had already ate most of the meal, it was cold as it was. The other 2 tables had already got their food by the time we came in. I did get prompt refills, mostly from the lady sitting at the door when we came in, so we took our toast and egg and left. I've been in there several times, nothing as bad as this. We will be going to Mr C's or McDonald's. read more

Stopped in for a beer, burger and company! Best burger in a long long time... frest meat, crispy crunchy lettuce (omg), fab bun.... cant even talk about the fries without getting hungry... lightly coated to make them extra crunchy... tu meke (awesome). To top it off we got to try some boneless chicken wings with a honey jalapeno covering and dipping sauce that were to die for. Atmosphere and decor nice! Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. FYI we drove in from Loves Park, totally worth it!!! read more

We stopped in here for breakfast while conducting some business down the road on an early September morning. I have to say that their hash browns are hands down the best in the county! I ordered the eggs/sausage/pancakes and figured I would get a side of the hash browns to see what they tasted like. I actually got the loaded hash browns consisting of green bell peppers, onions, and just the right amount of cheddar cheese. What an unexpected treat! The perfect blend of fluffy and crispy! Their pancakes are also out of this world. Being in a small town, this diner probably doesn't get slammed for breakfast, but wouldn't be surprised if it did.
