Food was absolutely delicious!! Such a small looking restaurant on the outside but the restaurant inside looked so big and spacious. Seating upstairs and downstairs. The waitress,Renee, was super sweet and so attentive. We loved having her for a server. Will definitely be back here.

Now this place was delicious. Between the cold brew coffee with maple cold foam, the smash burger, and kettle chips and the s'mores poptart. You cannot go wrong. Only mistake we made was not making reservations earlier - the wait was about 35-40 min. But we overall loved it all!

Very cute spot to grab breakfast! Loved the atmosphere and the service was great but the food was just okay. I had the frittata which looked good but was lacking flavor. Loved the salad and potatoes that came with the dish. We also tried the French toast which again, looked better than it tasted. I would definitely return and try other items because I liked the place itself!

A reservation is a must on the weekends as it's a very busy place, food was amazing. Loved the berry french toast and chorizo scrambler, my cold brew was also amazing.

Should have taken photo before I began eating. Great bread and breakfast sausage.

Amazing breakfast! 5 of us dined, and breakfast was enjoyed by all. We enjoyed it so much we went back for breakfast the next day! Great food.

This restaurant is really cute and in a nice spot in town. We loved the food options and also that you could get breakfast cocktails. Loved the cinnamon roll and the sweet potato hash. Our waiter was super helpful and informative.

My husband and I went in to Otto's for breakfast this morning. It was easily the best breakfast spot we have found in Galena! It is an old home converted to a breakfast/lunch spot. We learned the name "Otto" pays homage to a man named Otto who originally lived upstairs, had plans to make it a restaurant downstairs, but unfortunately just wasn't able to financially. It is warm and welcoming inside! We sat up at the bar, but we learned it is smart to make reservations ahead of time! I started with some cold brew which was great! Pro tip, add the maple cold foam on top it is delicious! My husband had the country skillet. The biscuit was delicious! He really liked the biscuit gravy too and thought it wasn't so heavy like some can be. I ordered the sweet potato hash which was delicious! I ordered some sourdough on the side. We also decided to split the homemade pop tart and you should also! It was so delicious! We also learned that the chef behind the restaurant is Kevin Scharpf who was on season 16 of Top Chef, too cool!! We will definitely be going back to Otto's next time we are in Galena!

While in Galena.....Worth the Repeat Visit! This is officially our new favorite breakfast spot in Galena--we came two days in a row! Everything is made with quality ingredients: Scratch-made pancakes w/ real maple syrup & killer French toast. The sweet potato hash & salmon lox were outstanding. Get the flaky apple pop tarts! Service was great; sitting at the counter was cool both times. 10/10 recommend!

We've been coming to Galena for 18 years and this was the first time we came here! We typically go out for dinner and make breakfast at home but Otto's is a must for breakfast! My husband and I both had the breakfast sando. The portions were large and I was stuffed. My mom ordered the skilled and said it was really good. Kids had the pancakes which were fluffy. I'm deducting 1 star because my husband did not like the coffee. Our waiter was super friendly. Great service. I will definitely be back to try some of their lunch menu items.

Otto's is a great place for breakfast and lunch. It's got a couple levels, but it does get quite loud, so when they're busy, be prepared to have a bit of noise around you. We grabbed some egg tacos and sweet potato hash. Everything was excellent, and I appreciate their great service. Sometimes is takes a bit to get someone to initially stop over, so take some time and check out the menu - but once you get started, they're very attentive. If you're staying somewhere in Galena where you're not going to hang out for breakfast in a hotel or similar, you can't go wrong with the menu at Otto's. Plus, once you're done, you can always walk down by the train tracks and work off the meal you just ate! Really great scenery for those looking to explore Galena!

There aren't many full service breakfast/brunch places in downtown Galena and thankfully Otto's Place did not disappoint! They do accept reservations online which is super helpful since brunch places are typically a first come first serve mindset. We were seated right away and attended to with hot coffees within minutes. The mugs are powerful with a motivation statement which is a great way to start your day. The restaurant fits up to maybe 40-50 people. 2 floors which is pretty cool. My fiancé and I sat on the 2nd floor. For food we both got breakfast dishes. Eggs were flight and fluffy and cooked to perfection. I would stay away from a basic eggs, bacon, bread option since they do have 'fancier' choices that seemed to have lots more flavor.

Dinners come with a choice of two sides along with bread for the table. The bread was warm and so tasty that we needed another loaf! Two people ordered the Chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms , another the sirloin strip and I got the pretzel crusted walleye which is fresh and not frozen. My walleye was cooked well - I thought with the pretzel crust it would be more crispy than it was - but still good. The chicken was very good as well as the steak. The sides we had were asparagus, fried Brussels sprouts, and Augratin potatoes. Everyone liked their sides. The restaurant is in the lower level of the Desoto Hotel. Chowder could have been substantially hotter. Tortilla Soup had great flavor and nice and hot on a cold day. The soup was the winner. #3 - one minor negative for us, was that there was no GF bun or bread option . . . had there been, we would have had full lunches. #4 - phenomenal service and staff. As it got a little busier, server was slighty less attentive (when it came to getting the bill) but that was understandable, as food was coming up . . . not many people like to turn tables and get on to the next thing, as we do.

Family and I decided to check out galena for the first time and decided to check this place out since the galena brewing company was closed. Not sure why because the sign said open and it was 11:15 am. The food here was alright, wings didn't come out with the celery and we felt rushed. We asked for menus and he said we needed to wait till after 11 am! It was 11:15 am lol. Food is nothing to brag about, but it did the job after a 3 hour drive. I should've read the reviews before going into this place. Not a top choice if we go back. Be aware this place only takes cash and checks. No credit card payments. Found that out at the bar when I had to go pay my bill because the waiter didn't mention anything! Lady at the bar said the ATM is at the front. Terrible way to start a Galena visit. Here are some pictures of our food and hopefully this place has better management and nicer staff.

From the get go, the lady taking our order was in a bit of a rush. My family was with me and we had a couple questions regarding the menu. I felt that our server's response was abrupt and felt like she was brushing us off to get to the next customer. The food was meh. I mean it wasn't terrible but it was pretty basic. The hubby got a cheeseburger, my daughter got the grilled cheese meal, and I got the buffalo wings. The menu said that celery and carrot sticks came with my order but I just got the wings. When I was able to finally flag down our server to inquire about my veggie sticks and dressing, she said "oh we're out of those" and was about to walk off until I quickly asked her what about the ranch? She then quickly pointed to the little square ranch container that was in the middle of the table. I mean maybe offer other things to accommodate for what's missing or at least tell me that off the bat would have been nice. We pretty much just ate our food and was ready to go right after. The name Paradise Bar & Grill is an oxymoron as we did not feel like we were in paradise.
