I can't justify $31 for a small 10" thin crust with 2 meat toppings and 3 veggies toppings. I was driving so I wasn't thinking when I ordered thinking 10" was a typical size pizza but it is slightly larger than a personal pizza. We rarely eat pizza so this took us by surprise. I think we remembered having a large full topping pizzas for $25 was normal. But this is a small 10". Updating my review 2.5 years later because we decided to give them another chance. Everything we ordered this time was pretty fantastic. The stuffed cheese pizza was hot and melty and the crust was crispy and buttery. So yummy. The spaghetti with meatballs and marinara was excellent as well. I'm FROM Chicago and this pizza is truly overrated, overpriced and flavorless. Ordered the classic thin crust pizza. The crust and edges weren't at all crispy and flakey as classic Chicago tavern-style pizza SHOULD be. Ingredients, dough and sauce were all super bland, and FLAVOR is what makes true Chicago-style pizza. Not to mention I called to place an order and was put on hold for over 15 min. Overheard the kid on the other end chit chatting with a customer for 10 min AND taking another order before mine. When he picked up the phone again, I simply told him that I will place my order inside instead. I was driving when I initially called and was on hold so long that I had arrived there before he picked back up again. I then told the kid respectfully that a 15 min hold to place an order is unacceptable, especially when I heard him socializing and taking another order before mine. There was only one person in the store when I walked in as well, so it wasn't as if they were slammed. No apology, no remorse, nothing. Not the absolute end of the world, but I hate how often people these days don't seem to know to apologize for inconveniencing customers. I would've let all that slide. But, once I got home and tasted this insult to Chicago pizza, I had to give fair warning to potential future patrons. Take it from this Chicagoan. We ordered the small 9in stuffed pizza pie with mushrooms, onions, green bell peppers. This is def Chicago style deep dish pizza. I'm pretty picky with cheese because sometimes there's a borderline of milk mold type smell like a bad Swiss and I just hate that :( but this place does not have that, they have a high quality cheese, a crafted sauce that's not sour/tangy it's just savory and a tad sweet perfected. The toppings are there they didn't skimp. This could feed 4-5 people with normal appetites it's pretty rich and full. I have to say I'm from Chicago and Nancy is very popular there for great pizza. I was very happy to see that they opened up a location close to my home. Everything is good. The food is outstanding. The best deep dish pizza in the south I do believe. They also serve traditional Chicago thin pizza. Overall A++ on the food. This is a new franchise location for Nancy's and they literally opened about two weeks ago. As such, they have a lot of customer service kinks to work out. I placed a $40 order online for pickup and when I arrived I learned their printer was out of ink and hadn't printed any online orders out, so my pizzas weren't even started yet. I never thought I would ever change a review but tonight my husband went back to this place. Of course I said I didn't want anything. So he brought a small salad and small pizza. What a surprise! Over the holidays our favorite Chicago Pizza restaurant in Buford was closed. I learned through a Yelp search that Nancy's existed. The photos and reviews did not leave me confident, but it's Christmas Eve, and most of us wanted deep dish, so the vote was give it a try! So glad that we did, and if nothing else, I leave this review as a overwhelming recommendation to help you through the same apprehension I had. The Deep Dish - Chicago Style was excellent every bit as good as there north-end competitor. Their meats were far more plentiful and flavorful. We also ordered a thin crust, half Sausage, half Pepperoni. The thin crust was great, however the sausage was outstanding. The very best I've had on a pizza! This is not a fancy sit down experience, it's a walk up to the counter, grab your pie and head home. My only criticism is they cut the thin crust in squares vs. slices. If you dislike squares as much as we do, I'm sure if you ask they cut it in a traditional manner. If all you crave is a great deep dish, try Nancy's. read more
