Found this place looking for nearby pizza restaurants while at a Lowe's. Never heard of it but it was close by and decided to give it a try. Quite possibly some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. It was fantastic! The ambiance was a typical pizza parlor, but oh the pizza! I would give Grandma's Pizza Suwanee 10 stars if I could. I order takeout from here fairly regularly. I ordered a baked pasta dish that was supposed to include meat in the sauce & there's no meat to be found. I'm a girl who needs her protein & meat & was starving by the time I got my order. Probably will be again later due to lack of meat in my pasta. Also, was supposed to come with garlic bread, which it didn't. They tend to be very inconsistent with that. Sometimes they include it & sometimes they don't. I just think the menu should be accurate (or the food to the menu) & they should be more consistent overall. read more

Finally found a pizza place that taste close to NY pizza. I really enjoyed the pizza but then I think the salad we got was bad because me and my husband started getting stomachaches and it's been about 4 hours already and still have an upset stomach. Went for the location in Horizon Village on 5/16, hankering for a hot sausage and pepper hero. First, I found solidly positive reviews on Yelp by others regarding this sandwich (as well as others), used the on-line ordering system which was easy, and it even gave me an exact ready time for pick-up (and it turned out to be ready @ 5:58 exactly as predicted!). Went to get a couple slices and it seems like they always have the same cheese slices no matter what time you go. I think they want you to always buy a whole pie. I asked what time do you close, he stated he stops taking orders at 8:30. I asked again what time you close and he stated "whenever I want to". I asked because I was going to come back after my movie was over, but with that attitude I wasn't motivated to buy anything or return. read more

Now that was some really good pizza. About eight of us decided to grab dinner here before heading to the movies. Grandma's actually had a table set up for us before we arrived. There seemed to be only one woman holding down the fort, but she managed to maintain the entire floor in good style. Including the handling of a steady stream of folks picking up to-go orders. And whomever was in the kitchen was doing their job with alacrity. The pizza itself was fantastically good. We had a pizza with mushrooms, olives, and meatballs. The meatballs were a winner. Spiced to perfection and sliced across the pizza--the whole thing just came together in all the right ways. And the crust was just right--not overdone and not chewy. It's a small place that's better suited to take out. What I had tasted fine but one thing I had a bit of issue with is that they don't bring your order to the table you're at. They make you go back to the counter to get your stuff, so why am I expected to leave a tip. A tip is for service, not the cooking of food. That's what salary is for. This is a small shop within the Tavern plaza and it's my go to place whenever I crave New York style pizza. Their margherita pizza is somewhat of a reverse and has more cheese than sauce. Service is quick and hasty. read more

Not a bad pie! I placed a pick up order for a large cheese pizza, baked ziti (on another Yelpers reco) and some side salads. Paid $41. All the food arrived home kind of hot. I ended up nuking my ziti for a minute. The food was tasty. The pizza does remind me of the NY taste. The salads were pretty big, probably one salad was enough for two. I would say the pizza was the best part of the meal. A large pizza is about $16.00 here so would go occasionally to get pies. Still hard to beat Cooleys at $8.99 for a large pizza. read more

WE used to get grandma pies probably two times a month. The whole family enjoyed it which is hard to do. Last couple of times the pizza was droopy not floppy. Not sure if I'm the only one with the problem but unless they fix this problem I will not be going back. It is too bad because this was our favorite place. read more

I LOVE PIZZA!!!!! (Thincrust) I'm cheating for lunch. My breakfast was a green smoothie so now I want PIZZA. I walked in and was told by John that I could sit anywhere I liked. Waiting on my eating partner to find a parking spot. I already knew what I wanted so I went for the 2slice special and drink. Eating partner(Hubby) had a taste for the chicken marsala. We also had GRANDMA'S salad and 2 pinwheels spinach& broccoli and pepperoni. During this time another waitress was getting off I believe, cause Poor JOHN was running around making figure 8s trying to keep up with orders and drink refills!! He forgot our straws, 2Times and it took 15min before he came back to tell us that the drink we ordered was out so we opted for sprite/coke. The pizza was GR8!! The chicken Marsala was missing something but it was still edible. The pinwheels were also good. I will definitely come back for a slice or a whole pie of Grandma's piping hot pizza! Wow great pizza! Just right thin crust, fresh ingredients. 1000 times better than your chain pizza place. The real deal!!

The cashier was hella rude by slamming a stack of pizza boxes in front of my face and next to my ear. It was very loud and abrupt. He did it twice. He didn't even say excuse me and didn't apologize. They didn't have any pepperoni slices ready and didn't offer to make anymore. The whole vibe in this place was awful. read more

Sometimes everything in Atlanta looks the same to me, esp. in this part of town, like some repeating background in a TV driving scene: homes, gas station, mini-mall, park, repeat. Looks can be deceiving. Even though I walked up to a passionless strip mall storefront, when I walked thru the door I was transported back to every pizza place in NY. Not what I saw, rather what I smelled. The delightful simple smell of that pizza oven and I was back in every beloved pizza place from New Haven to New Jersey. While not a completely authentic experience (they say it's due to the water) the pizza from Grandma's was as close as you can get to the real thing. By the pie or by the slice (even Sicilian) enjoy! Just ehh. Ordered a main item that they apparently ran out out of which seems crazy since the place was empty. Ordered a "crispy" pizza and as you can tell from the picture it was definitely NOT! To say this is New York pizza is kind of a crime. We're from the northeast and this would qualify as dollar slice stuff. I'm sure long time locals that don't know the difference find it adequate. NY style pizza, with some twists. Available by slices. Today I had a plain slice and a square slice (in ny, we called it sicilian). Both very ny taste. Last week, I had I white pizza and a tomato flavored. Both with real mozzarella slices. That's the twist, I was referring to. Both of these were as good as I have I had outside of ny and Italy. I am hoping to revisit this review after the restaurant has a chance to redeem themselves. We have been on an 8 month hunt for good delivery Pizza in The Lawrenceville area. We still haven't found it. For a pizza and salad the cost was $35! And the worst part was that our pizza came without sauce on it. The salad was meh-ok. Nothing exciting.
