Nancy's Airport Cafe has a new owner but the same great pies! They have cleaned, painted and revamped the inside plus there is a new, friendly attitude from the owner and the staff all seem so happy to work there! Tonight we went after 9, thinking they were open until 10! They had a sign posted closing nine for maintenance. But the owner came to the door, invited us in, made our grandson pancakes and we were on our way with a sincere apology for the inconvenience and an invitation to come back soon. Great homemade bbq pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and fried onions inside!! Tried a bite of the patty melt, also very good. It seems like they have some really good homemade offerings. My wife and I stopped for lunch today. The parking lot was moderately full which should have been an indication. We walked in and seated ourselves after making eye contact with two of the two servers who were busy. After waiting for menus for more than fifteen minutes the only greeting we received was from several flies visiting from a local manure lagoon. Either very understaffed or the servers are not very well trained or trained to be outright rude. We've stopped here several months ago, the food was very good and the service more thoughtful. We might try again next month to see if there is any improvement . read more

We arrived just after noon, most tables were filled. We were greeted promptly, drink orders taken and menus provided. Our order was taken quickly, but it took over 20 minutes to get our food. The French Dip was not good. The roll was soggy, meat was barely above cold, not warm enough to be considered warm, though there was a lot of meat. The only thing good about it was the grilled onions I ordered extra. They were hot, as it appeared sandwich had been prepared a while and then they remembered the onions. $10 for that! Fail. Country potatoes were just chunks of deep fried potato, no peppers, onions or seasoning. And a half a waffle was $4.99! Ice tea was $2.49. Definitely not the quality of food & service we've always experienced here in the past. Waitress didn't even ask about the food. Probably won't stop again during lunch time, or maybe ever. read more

Great place to go for any meal. Nancy's is a great place to go if you are hungry! While we were waiting for our food we determined that Nancy's portions are immense. Even my Caesar salad was too big for just one meal, and Nancy's made it gluten free for me (no bread cubes). This is the great American Diner experience like we had back in New Jersey - just good food. Service was friendly and helpful but could have been a little more attentive. This is not a knock but a suggestion. Nancy's is the place to stop if you are driving to or from the Bay Area to/from Oregon. (or even Shasta). We'll definitely be back. read more

The place was recommended by the hotel staff and it is a winner. The server was so helpful, offering choices to maximize food for dollar. She gave us an extra soup because it was the last of the pot. Let me preface this by saying I love to support small businesses but unfortunately this one was just "meh" for me. While the restaurant was very clean & quaint and the servers couldn't have been any sweeter, the food left a bit to be desired. I had the biscuits & gravy and while they were huge & fluffy, I occasionally got a bite that tasted, for lack of a better descriptor, like freezer burn. Also the sausage had too much sage which lent it a slightly marijuana-y flavor (not that I'd know ). All in all, it was ok, but I'm not sure I'll make another pit stop. read more

Coffee wasn't the best, and portions are way too big, but no other complaints from me. We tried the honker omelette (highly recommend) chicken fried steak (best I've ever had) pancakes, biscuits, home fried potatoes...all amazing comfort food. GREAT FOOD!!! Unexpected quality for such a 'middle of no where' diner. If you are traveling, make it a point to stop for dinner. Turkey was moist with ALL the trimmings, old school chicken cordon blue that is covered in a delicious sauce. My son had the rib eye, it said small portion and it covered the plate and could take on a $40 cut at any city steak house. We were road weary and the local gas attendant nearby suggested Nancy's and we left stuffed with quality food at quite reasonable prices. We WILL make it a point to stop each time we drive to So Cal. We ordered the two-egg breakfast and award winning chili omlet. This was a solid breakfast; food was tasty, not greasy, the coffee strong, and the servers welcoming and attentive. This little diner's walls are covered in aviation history (photos & articles) and other historic memorabilia. Small airplanes sit outside on the tarmack. This is a cute little place that the locals frequent. Everyone seems to know everyone else; greeting each other by name as if their all family. Must be brutally honest with this review...the meal wasn't very good. The restaurant itself is reminiscent of any of those still found in Smallville, Wyoming...old fashioned service and lots of "stuff" to eat. But, the "stuff" we tried wasn't worth the stop. We had the lunch special...chicken fried steak sandwich, which was, quite frankly, pretty darned tasteless as was the cole slaw. I'd be hard pressed to give Nancy's another try...so sorry. read more

I've been going to Nancy's Airport Cafe for about 4 years now. If you drive down I5, don't miss the exit. I always have a good experience, hands down best food and service in town!!! I appreciate small mom and pop establishment like this. I'd rather support small businesses than big ones. Not just even that, to have a family, friendly and welcoming environment makes so much difference! Everyone greeted you with a big smile! and that's another thing I like in this place.. Adorable mom and pop restaurant for the weekend flyer. You can fly your Cessna in and walk to the restaurant where you are greeted by such warm and helpful people. The food is comfort to the core, big portions and delicious. The fried chicken is juicy and tender. The open face turkey sandwich makes you think it's thanksgiving. Delicious pies and cakes to chose from and easy to make to go since you will be so full from your meal. Kid friendly, our waitress was fabulous she was so warm and kind to my daughter that she is even went around the restaurant with her!!! Can't wait to go again. read more

Flew in today from Palo Alto to try the menu.. Had a Ca. Burger and a shake,,,,,, WOW it was GREAT... That was so good I decided to bring the family back something .. I chose the # 4 chicken basket with all the goods and they also threw in a whole pie with the deal..(O-BOY DID THAT PLANE SMELL GOOD ALL THE WAY HOME).. After 16 days of roadtripping, we were exhausted and borderline grumpy when we got to Nancy's Airport Cafe. That all changed after walking in the door. The waitresses were a kick in the pants (especially Tricia). It was comfort food all the way at some incredible prices.
