Its a casual yet classy place for lunch and dinner. They have a shaded patio in front as well ( dog friendly). I love smaller towns! Relatively no traffic or crime! My boyfriend and I ordered off the lunch specials menu. He ordered the smash burger and chose macaroni salad. I ordered the grilled shrimp on a skewer with brown rice and spicy coleslaw. We always try each other's food! The smash burger was juicy and the macaroni salad was good! My shrimp had a nice grill on it and the coleslaw was delicious. The brown rice was alittle dry for my taste buds. It has a full bar with tvs to watch sports. There is quieter seating on the other side of the bar area. Overall it was a good experience! Great menu with plenty of speciality cocktails along with some craft beers! Staff is professional! read more

Came here after the rodeo show since it was on my way back to SF. Glad we stopped here tho cuz this is a real hidden gem in a small town. Service was great and everyone was friendly, checked on us plenty of times. For the food, I'd definitely recommend the Cyclone Chicken and the fried avocado appetizer, those were amazing. Although we live over an hour from Farwood, we come whenever we get the chance. The food is always good. Our favorites are the Avocado Fries, the Farwood Salad and the burgers. We have always found their staff to be pleasant and hardworking, eager to please their customers. You can tell they've been well-trained. Great work, Farwood. read more

My girlfriend and I celebrated dinner here and if you are looking for a place to feel special and welcomed, then this is definitely the spot you want to be. For drinks, we got an old fashioned with a twist being made with gin and a spicy mezcal margarita which packed a heated punch with smoky notes. For starters, we had the brussels and bacon which did not disappoint. They were extra crispy and devoured within minutes. For our main, we got the seasonal dinner special of Beef Stroganoff made with very high quality beef. I am not typically a fan of horseradish, but the horseradish cream sauce that was incorporated into this dish blended well with all the flavors, was creamy, and did not overpower my taste buds. Our sever Mary gave us plenty of french bread and their house-made garlic butter, which was delicious! I will most certainly be recommending this restaurant to family and friends. read more

It's been a while and we were driving through from Sac and decided to give this place a try again. Much better this time. Great service from the friendly host to our attentive server to the bus person who also was super on top of filling waters. We were served 4 warm sourdough rolls with a garlic butter - yummy. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip with Parmesan bread toast - very flavorful. Randy got the Mac and cheese and loved it along with a delicious half Caesar salad. I ordered the Cyclone chicken dish. Yummy mashed potatoes and a piece of chicken breast with a cream sauce, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. Quite flavorful and served hot. My dish came with Brussels, broccoli and cauliflower...unfortunately these were served to me cooler than lukewarm. Disappointing. The dishes are good sized so we have leftovers. When you first walk in Farwood, there's a long bar on the right that's usually bustling with happy customers and some tables on the left. There's also a back area and that's where we were seated. It was very quiet and had a very chill vibe about it. Comfortable. A great way to end our day. read more

took my mother to farwoods for the first time for an early mother's Day lunch. it was fantastic! I highly recommend the avocado fries. it sounds weird but they are delicious and I had a lavender gimlet which was fantastic. our bartender (I think he said his name was Connor. I asked him twice but I forgot cuz I'm terrible and remembering names) was amazing. he even put the Kentucky Derby on for us so we could watch it at the bar. lunch itself was also so amazing full of flavor. great portions. I highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere. that's kind of low-key but has amazing food and wonderful service to go to Farwoods! read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time a few months ago and had an excellent experience. The food ordered by everyone in my party (4) was delicious, and the service was attentive and efficient. The only drawback during that first visit was that, despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 20 minutes outside in the heat. Since it was a busy Saturday, I understood the delay and didn't dwell on it. On my second visit, I was hoping for the same level of service. This time, we had reservations for a Thursday evening (party of 2), and the wait was only a few minutes. Our server was prompt and efficient, allowing us to place our drink, appetizer, and entrée orders on her first stop. She did forget the chilled glass for the beer, but that was a minor issue. The poke nachos were enjoyable, though I probably wouldn't order them again as the portion of poke didn't seem to match the price. My fiancée ordered the beer cheese burger, which was cooked well, but overall the texture was somewhat mushy and lacked distinct flavor. I ordered the salmon piccata pomodoro. While I understood the portion size, I found the dish overly rich, with the flavor dominated by butter. I know piccata is meant to be butter-forward, but there were no lemon notes to balance it out. The capers, however, were the saving grace of the dish and provided the only brightness. Additionally, I had requested a side of parmesan at the time our meals were served, but it wasn't brought out until I was already halfway through my meal. Again, not a major issue, but a bit disappointing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't order any of the dishes we had during this second visit. On future visits, I'd likely stick to what we enjoyed during our first experience, as those dishes were excellent. I also found the appetizers to be overpriced, and the one we tried didn't justify its cost. As for the rewards system, I was surprised to learn my points had already expired. I dined here in July and spent around $400 (possibly more), so I expected discounts would still be applied at checkout. It could be that I misunderstood how the program works, but I think extending rewards for up to six months would make it more appealing. I personally can't afford to dine at an upscale restaurant like this every month, but I would return more often if the rewards carried over longer. If the goal is to attract locals as well as out-of-town visitors, keeping the discount period more flexible might be worth considering. Overall, I would rate this most recent visit a 6/10. I look forward to returning, but I'll likely stick to the menu items I know the restaurant does best. read more

Farwood never disappoints. The servers are friendly and informative and act like they really enjoy serving you. The food is always excellently prepared and presented/. For anyone coming from out of town, the drive is well worth it! We love the early dinner menu with its smaller portions and lower price. What a great idea! Farwood, keep up the good work. read more

The only reason I would not be "Highly Likely to Recommend" is because I'm from out of the area. I do come to town a few times a year and was looking for a kewl place to sit and eat lunch after work. I think I found it! Farwood is a very nicely laid out venue with a full bar, great beers and really good food. We both ordered burgers which came with fries (hers) or potato salad (mine). portions were generous, tasty and with a beer after work, very welcome. They also had some good specials before 2:00PM. The staff was very nice and even though there is no senior citizen or veteran discount, of which I'm both, I found the loyalty club to work out pretty well. I'll make sure to stop by and see y'all next time I'm in town! read more

I absolutely love the atmosphere! They also have a bar, for while you might wait to be seated. This incredible establishment, used to be really small at one time, that was my first visit here. I had heard from many friends, they had really opened it up, and even had an outback patio. The food has always been amazing, anytime I've eaten here, and it still is!! My favorite times are when, my twin sister, and I, make plans to go to lunch together here. Nothing special. I was quite disappointed. Their take out is crammed into tiny containers and I hate to compare their bowls to TBar, but TBar is twice as good by far. I was looking forward to this treat in Orland but I won't be back for that. Possibly try something else on the menu in the future. read more

This place is huge and was well filled for an arrival at 7pm on a Monday! Excellent service, fabulous Poke Nacho appetizer, fresh and tasty dinner salads and a shared dinner of Cyclone Chicken that came separated on 2 plates for us to enjoy. Will definitely come back to this hidden gem! read more

Gay and I were looking forward to another dinner at Farwood. We were both so impressed with the Artichoke-Spinach dip the first time we had it we ordered it again and I swear it was even better this time. The cheesy crisp pieces of toast are soo good with it. Since we both like our beer extra cold, I called ahead and ask'd to have it put in the "freezer" prior to our arrival so when we were ready for it it was perfect. Almost frozen but not quite!! Trying to decide what to order is difficult because it all looks so good. So, there we go ordering the same entre as last time, splitting the Steak Daniele. He managed to eat all of his portion but I just couldn't get through mine so had to take the remainder home. It's an excellent choice and I highly recommend it. As always, the service is A-1. I would rate it the best of all restaurants we've been. They hire plenty of help so there's no feeling of being cheated by not having someone available to really take care of you. I was traveling for work through Northern California coming from Idaho. We needed somewhere to stop and eat. We came across the Farwood bar and Grill. I ordered the steak Danielle it was tender delicious and the blue cheese sauce was phenomenal. The best part about our night was Katie, our server she smiled. She was energetic and attentive. I cannot rave enough about this spot, it is the complete package. The atmosphere could work anywhere as the exterior is bright and becoming while the interior makes me feel I am stepping into a spot from yesteryear. The bar is so warm and friendly, I expect to see Doc Holliday step in for a libation. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable blending the perfect amount of interaction and passion for what they do! Farwood is a slice of heaven! It feels like a special occasion restaurant without the stuffiness that many steakhouses have. It's truly "come as you are" and eat well! We love to sit on the patio, but find we receive a bit more attentive service when we dine inside. The food is predictably delicious and plates always come out just as ordered, even with substitutions. The rewards program offers some incentives, but we'd still come without it. The restaurant's history is detailed on the website, but you don't need to read it to feel that this place has a story and is special. read more

Typically we have nothing but best with the quality of food from Farwood and are frequent patrons especially with getting their family meals particularly the Fettuccine Alfredo. Although this time the serving was not as usual with unusual extra amount of the Alfredo sauce (did not ask for extra sauce) and the saltiness of the sauce was overwhelming to everyone that we didn't finish the the Alfredo (there wasn't the usual amount of pasta and I suppose the thick layer of what look like Parmesan cheese on top made the saltiness worse) and we just stuck with the salad and appetizers that we ordered. I did try calling to let them know but it was during dinner hours so being placed on a hold was understandable. I had to attend to another matter so was not able to hold for long. Definitely disappointed with the price of the family meal for the quality, but the appetizer was great. read more
