Really good stop in Willows. Chips and salsa came out hot and crisp, and the room is casual and roomy--comfortable, not cramped. Service was friendly and on it without hovering. The food is a step above typical small-town Mexican. Fajitas come out sizzling with plenty of peppers and onions, and the molcajetes are the move if you want something bigger--Molcajete Mexicano or the seafood Dios Huichol if you're sharing. Portions are generous, flavors are bold, and they lean into coastal/Nayarit-style dishes (camarones a la diabla, zarandeados, ceviche tostadas) instead of only combo plates. Would come back. Ambience is casual and rustic - with lots of space and comfortable seating. My waitress was lovely (helpful, kind, not helicopterish but efficient)! Started with delicious, fresh crispy tortilla chips and truly tasty (literally drinkable) red salsa! I ordered a creamy corn dish side that was perfection - in a light lime tajin sauce that paired so nicely with the chips and salsa (and my sour cream side go-to)! Enchiladas were chicken breast (yay!) and perfect in their robust red sauce - delightful with the yummy refried beans, topped with cheese, and perfectly executed Mexican rice. Visited April 19 2026...see my receipt as always. Of course I had to stop here for my fav dish...mexican molcahete! 2.5 hours but I had business as well. This is the best! Hot and overflowing with meat and shrimp! I asked for extra shrimp instead of chicken and sausage this time. SO spicy and tasty! ( you can get it mild). Love the warm tortillas as well! Excellent food. Friendly service. I had the Camarones Zarandeados shrimp dish with the shell on. It's a sweet delicious dish. Got plenty of shrimp, at least eight big ones, beans, rice, salad and tortillas. My wife had the Chili Verde. Wife here:The server was friendly and personable. She told me the green sauce was made from scratch so I ordered the chili verde. Seriously the best green sauce I have ever tasted, bright with lime. Portions were large. I was full but had to take the leftovers home. Too good to waste! We are driving from California to Seattle but will seriously stop again in Willows just to eat at La Casita again! read more

While the quality of the food and the level of service seems to be high, and very good, not just for Willows but in general, it does seem like their prices are a bit higher than you'd expect for such a small town. $4 for a single street taco is a little egregious. Even so, it's a fun and welcoming spot and certainly better than most other Mexican food options in Willows. Be forewarned that they close at 8pm, which is also unfortunate. Many times I go to Thunderhill, I can't leave before work and it takes 2-3 hours for me and my friends to get up there. It used to be 9pm was a fairly normal closing time for most restaurants regardless of where you go. read more

What a welcome addition to the local fare in Willows. Yummy well appointed spot with a warm and pleasant feel. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I absolutely love their glasses, you can see one in my pictures. The food was well prepared and very flavorful, I even loved their beans (I am kind of a snob). To enter their parking lot use the Umpqua bank ATM entrance. The food is excellent and comes in generous portions. It is also reasonably priced, great value for your dollar. Al Pastor Tacos were very flavorful and good, so was the quesabirria and consome that comes with it, salsa was good and my brother in law said the carne asada tacos were good as well. The tortillas were good but they were slightly hard, might have been because we ordered togo but I prefer a softer tortilla. Its a personal preference. I am mexican so I have high standards for mexican food. My only suggestion would be to offer a home made tortilla or a softer tortilla. read more

Service was excellent! Our server was a very sweet, happy young lady who seemed genuinely happy to be there. We loved her. I didn't get her name but it was around 2pm on Weds 6/5/24. Adorable! Place was all but empty. I think there was a couple on the other side of the big room was all. No margaritas. Big disappointment. Not even wine ones but they have beer. We aren't beer people. So lemonades instead. The food was disappointing. $50 for lunch for 2. A lemonade each. Daughter had the cheese enchilada plate. It's always her "go to". She took it all home to her roommate. She hated it. 3 tiny little enchiladas made with street tacos tortillas. Not even full size. Each about the size of a thumb!!! I had 2 ala carte dishes: a cheese enchilada (yep! Teeny tiny!) and a chile relleno (MY go to). I'd say aside from odd portions on the enchiladas, the sauces are odd too. We just didn't like any of them. The red sauce on my enchilada, the green one hers and a kind of light red creamy tasteless sauce on the relleno. No mole's on the menu or more traditional red & green sauces. We love Mexican food and are usually pretty easy to please so this was a big surprise. The place is very big inside, very clean. And great 5 star service. We rated 3 stars instead of 1 because of our waitress. We will go back in a year or two. Maybe they're just new? We don't know. We're not from there. read more
