I stopped by Nando the first day I landed in London. The people I was working with kept recommending that I go here so I did. This place is inside the O2 Shopping outlet on the first floor. When I came, they were not busy and sat me right away. The guy who seated me was very polite and explain the whole process to me since I told him it was my first time. I went with the Chicken Butterfly that comes with two sides so I got chips which is fries and garlic bread. I also got a drink as well since it's self serve. I went with the medium sauce on my chicken to play it safe. My food came out quick and the chicken was delicious. It was tender and juicy, the medium sauce also wasn't spicy either. They have other sauce on the side near the drink machine so I tried the hot level sauce and it wasn't spicy either. The fries were delicious, seasoned well and you get a good portion. The garlic bread was fine but next time I'll do double fries. The service by all the workers here are awesome because each of them kept checking in with me that I was having a good experience. Nando's is O.K. I wouldn't refuse it if our office brought it in as catering but I certainly wouldn't make an evening of it or seek it out for lunch. In the couple of years I've lived in London I've noticed something in particular aobut Nando's: the locals don't really talk about it nearly as much as foreigners do. When I read conversations by Americans who have spent some time in the UK it is very common to read "I wish there was a Nando's nearby!" whereas I haven't heard that once actually living here. If anything, the most common observation I'm privy to is "It used to be much cheaper!" That's because it's just kind of average chicken. You can add some spice to it if you so desire but that's all you're doing because it doesn't come with any added flavor. The sides that can come along with it like the rice, corn, and broccoli are also absent of much flavor, and getting the chicken in sandwich form doesn't really help much. Also, if you happen to be nearby the Canary Wharf location there is a much superior branch of Chicken Shop literally right next door for the same cost. My fellow Americans, you are viewing this establishment through the sentimentality of your trips abroad. I do not use hyperbole when I say the humble El Pollo Loco in SoCal is an order of magnitude tastier and cheaper than Nando's. read more

I really wish this fast casual chain would make it California. It's simple because it's various permutations of grilled chicken and sides. But it's awesome because the grilled chicken is delicious and there are so many tasty sauces to try. Halloumi Sticks & Dip: Similar in concept to mozzarella sticks, but fun in their own right. No breaded exterior, just crispy grill marks. Not stringy and gooey, more firm and squeaky. I love all sorts of cheese, so this was perfect for me. Wasn't a huge fan of the overly sweet dip though, so just used some of the Nando's sauces instead. 1/4 Chicken (Extra Hot): Spicy for the U.K., but not spicy on a global scale. Still a pleasant subtle tingle. The marinade is great and all, but the real star is the tender chicken that is full of smoky flavor. PERI-Salted Chips: A bit too salty for my tastes. They were nice and crispy though. Macho Peas: Kinda like mushy peas, but more smashed than mash. Also, quite a few nice herbs and spices to make this way more exciting than regular mushy peas. Natas: Like a Chinese Egg Tart, but Portuguese. I really appreciated the crispy flaky shell. read more

Had a super long wait to get in - this is important as perhaps it inflated my expectations and resulted in my moderate disappointment. Once I got in, I ordered some chicken, fries, and coleslaw. Pros: - creative and fun menu, I enjoyed reading through it - staff was nice - the sauces were good - the coleslaw was tasty and almost exactly what I wanted Cons: - the food (in particular the chicken and coleslaw) was good, but not nearly worth the hype it gets - the fries were not seasoned well for my taste, and left me wishing for crispier fries as they were sort of soft - the chicken was good, but a bit oily for my taste Overall, it was a fine and reasonably priced meal. The food at Nandos is well documented, so my review is based on the location and service. Notwithstanding the fact that you have to collect your own cutlery and plates, the service is very efficient and friendly. The location is convenient for shoppers, tourists and locals alike. What makes this venue outstanding is the huge space inside. Massive tables make this an ideal location for groups. read more

I ordered a chicken pita sandwich with a side salad. The chicken was very dry... more like a dry chicken pita sandwich. I had to go and grab some extra bottle of sauce to make the dry chicken and the dry leaves more tasty. There were two different machines where you could get water from but one was out of order. read more

Cabot Square Nando's gets 4 stars to the 3 I'd rate the Jubilee Place branch nearby. There's no point describing the food as its Nando's so this review is more about the decor and service. Don't use this star rating to compare to another nearby restaurant either. It's 4 stars on Nando's scale where 1 star is the Bayswater branch and 5 stars is the one in Bromley. It's a bit quieter than the Jubilee Place branch and as a result the service is a bit better, and the atmosphere more relaxed. read more

Nando's is a South African institution. When I first had it in South Africa, my wife and I were blown away by th spicy flavours, textures and innovative menu. I had such high hopes for Nando's in the UK. However, something was lost in the translation from South Africa to the UK. Peri Peri chicken is supposed to be hot and spicy, but here it was more rubbery and mild (even the extra hot). The menu seemed similiar to the menu in South Africa, but the quality of the ingredients (particularly the vegetables) didn't seem to be on par with South Africa. For example, in the Chicken Pita, South Africa had crisp cucumbers to help cool down the spice of the chicken. There weren't many vegetables in the UK Pita. I'll just need to find another excuse to go to South Africa and experience Nando's in its homeland. read more

Yay Nando's - still nothing quite like it over here but whenever we are in town, a visit is almost always on the agenda. Wife loves the place. I'm a fan but not as amazed. Such a simple concept - marinated chicken (most popular thing on the menu) with a variety of sauces from girl's blouse to full on hard man spicy. Cabot place is beautiful, and therefore, so is the Nando's here. It's still funny to me that they have one in Jubilee Place across the street but in the basement, while this one is on the very top. Love sitting in the seats between the outside and the inside of the restaurant, overlooking the dome-shaped sky window. Food-wise, well it's Nando's. Now I like Nano's like any other person out there. But this one really is a joke. I've been twice now and on both occasions I wasn't impressed. they messed he order up the first time and the second time they tried to cheat me out of chicken! If i order a Double chicken breast... then i expect a double chicken breast. Not one chicken breast and a 1/4 of chicken breast. I was highly insulted by this action of the chef and really deterred me from ever visiting this Nando's again. The staff seem nice but also seem busy (returning orders mainly), hence I guess they've given up on doing the customer check if everything is okay. they just took our stick away. Yay for Nandos! I have missed nandos so much, and traveling from SFO to IAD to Nandos is a little extreme, so I just get my fix when I come home. We got two whole chicken platters between the 6 of us and it was the perfect amount of food. I do love Nando's rice, so I made sure we got at least 2 sides of rice. I think my spice tolerance must have increased since the last time I was here, because no matter how much hot sauce I slathered on, it just wouldn't get spicy, good job Nandos is flavorful :) read more

Can't go wrong with NANDOs ... It's great in the States and it is great here in London. Lemon Herb chicken pita and some sides for a relatively low expense. Food is cooked well and the guys taking orders are very friendly and smile a lot. The soft drinks were a little flat in the fountain machine but I'm not a big soft drink fan so it didn't bother me. The food here is pretty good. I got the boneless chicken thighs. It smells and tastes good. You can choose the spicy level. I got the medium hot. But I think it's very mild. The corn tastes good. It comes with butter as well. The peas are ok. This place is like self service, get a table number first, order and pay, grab your own drink, napkins and utensils and go to your table. Eventually they will bring the food to the table. read more

I swear theres crack in this chicken, its so so good. I am obsessed with Nando's, its a must go overtime I am in London. Americans do note that the serving size is smaller in the UK, so what you normally get from a whole chicken in the US is about 3/4 the size in the UK. Get the peas and get the peri peri chips for the sides, you won't be disappointed! read more
