You know I get the hype about Nando's. It's a pleasant experience for sure. I didn't order the traditional meal and went for something light, however, it was still great! I picked the highest level of spice and it was perfect. The girl who took my order was very kind as well. So that eased my nerves with ordering. My only knock in a star was for the stocking of utensils. Hear me out though... I brought it up to the manager that was standing right there. Instead of him going to the back (kitchen was also right next to us) he told me to go try and check on the other side. I was a little annoyed by that but whatever I'm ready to eat. This place is WHACK. My friends had a table, table 10, somewhat near the registers and clearly visible to the registers. I had a menu and took it up to order with my friend asking for the split chicken breast with rice and peri salted chips. Well they said it would take 30 minutes, so we went with the half chicken instead. We also added a side of hummus with peri peri drizzle, and 3 wings at the spiciest. The dude was really rude the whole time and asked for our table number, I said I didnt know but pointed at it and he told me to go get the table number... Dude works there, he should know what tables are what? But he was a dick the entire time. so a 0 star for service. The rice tasted like pollo loco rice. The fries were nothing special whatsoever, and the chicken tasted like el pollo loco chicken. The spicy chicken wings... tabasco is hotter than what they had. The hummus tasted like off brand grocery store hummus. It really felt like they received all of their supplies from grocery stores and El pollo locos suppliers. This place has some good chicken with an interesting choice of side sauces. To all my fellow American tourists, think the Lucille's of chicken! Food is good, but definitely has a chain quality of taste to it! We ordered the full platter with 4 small sides and added on a 1/2 chicken--that fed my group of 4 easily. We tried a majority of all their sauces and my favorites were the garlic one and the wild herb sauce. Cole slaw was my favorite of all the sides. It took me about 2 years to realise that Nando's actually serves food other than chicken. They do really like their chicken though; they even managed to get me to try it by slipping some in my wrap! But that mistake aside, I do like their veggie options and it's nice that you can choose a wrap, pita, or burger. They even have some salads. The best thing though, is their super green wrap. The tortilla they use is soft and the perfect texture. And whatever they put in their super greens food is delicious. I've had their sweet potato option but am not crazy about the bbq flavour with it. They have a number of different sides that are quite nice, such as their spicy rice or mint chile peas. I wanted to see what the hype was about and boy did I ever! I was asked if I have been there before by the waitstaff and when I answered no they set the expectations of what I should do. The hype is justified. Nando's is an addiction-in-waiting -- the best meal I have had in the UK, and the only one that woke up my taste buds!! It's a bit odd to have the waitress explain the menu in detail and then invite the customers to order at the counter and sever themselves with cutlery and fountain drinks, but we can dig it of the result is a meal like this one!! My husband and I split the 4 boneless chicken thigh plate with the peri chips and mashed peas. He got an extra side of grilled sweet potatoes. I ordered one Hot and one Extra Hot, because being a Texas gal, I love the heat!! Both thighs were delectable, but I think i prefer the flavor of the Hot over the Extra Hot. Medium is yum too -- tangy but with a kick too. More of a prod, maybe :) Nando's chargrilled chicken is the best thing I have eaten in a while. It was crunchy, smokey, spicy, tender, and juicy. Chicken perfection. Nando's chicken sandwich came on what we call bollilo rolls in Texas -- I'm not sure what the Portugese equivalent is. The bun was slightly sweet with a crunchy crust and chewy body. It perfectly complemented the lemon-herb extra mild chicken breast on the sandwich. I always feel a bit weird reviewing chain restaurants, especially ones like Nando's, that everyone and their cat must have already been to. I can definitely say though that me and my colleagues have changed Nando's from a cheeky semi fast food chicken option to a legitimate lunchtime destination. We even got the loyalty cards to see what freebies we can get if we go there enough times. And, to be honest, I am totally ok with it. I really like chicken and a restaurant dedicated to it is pretty cool in my opinion. I always find the chicken is perfectly cooked and I believe any fellow carnivore will appreciate it. The second advantage of it is that fans of spicy food are always satisfied with the hot and extra hot sauce choices, while I am very happy with my lemon & herb and mango & lime options. As a result we can all enjoy the same dish at the heat level we are comfortable with. About this specific Nando's location, the restaurant seems to have a modern/reclaimed materials atmosphere with a lot of wood and metal elements. It does lack some of the exotic foreign country atmosphere that other restaurants in the chain tend to have though, and in my opinion that's a positive, as it makes it fit with the location it's in much better. So if you feel hungry for some chicken, or a lot of it, and you're in the area, don't hesitate to stop by for a quick bite. I came to this location on my first day after moving to London this past September. I had fond memories of Nando's from my past stint living on the Southbank and was (obviously) really eager to get my fix. Luckily, I was not disappointed by my visit to this location. It is huge! and has attractive ambiance and cool birdcage seating--pictured by other reviewers. My chicken was very tasty and exactly what I remembered. I always get extra hot and was excited to try their new chicken thigh meal--which is tasty and far more food than 1/4 chicken for the same price. I love Nando's and wish they would open one in Austin (hint hint). They are all over London and we kept noticing it everywhere so we finally had to try it. It's spicy chicken, from Mozambique with Portugese peri peri sauce. The way it works is you get seated at a table and make note of the number, then go up and order, give your table number and they will bring it out to you. You can get wings, thighs, breast, on bone or boneless, and you say your spicy level, and choose your sides (we had cole slaw and fries with spicy salt). They offer beer and wine, soft drinks. Prices are very fair, food delicious, atmosphere casual and fun. Enjoy! read more

I like the ambience of this Nando's. It is located below a train bridge thus the arches inside the restaurant. They have bird cage seatings. I personally do not feel the settings are romantic. The bird csges look pretty quirky. The chicken was decent, it was extra hot as I ordered. Sadly the size of the 1/4 chicken looked more like a bigger version of a drumstick. I like Nando's. Who knew? For years (about 12 years at a guess) I've practically avoided all Nando's outlets - snobbery? It's possible but unlikely as I'd happily move in to almost any branch of KFC. Whatever the reason, there's been a long hiatus between us but reconciliation came in the form of a pre-drinks dinner with friends and a butterflied chicken breast (with chips and coleslaw) and it was a delight. Perhaps it was my low expectations but it was probably the terrific meal being as it arrived quickly and and tasted great. Things are kept simple at Nando's and when they're done well, you cannot fail. There are even veggie options (Portabello mushroom and Halloumi burgers/wraps spring from memory), something I did not expect. After a slightly delayed start - I didn't know you had to go and order at the counter, the waiting staff don't take food orders - we were underway and eating. So nandos is nandos!! Frickin' awesome! What makes this branch stand out though is their amazing customer service! I ordered the sweet potato wedges because I'm totally in love with them and this time, they were really hard. I told the waitress and she went back to try and replace them with some soft and less dry ones. After having no luck, she refunded the wedges and also left them on my table, so despite them being not the usual quality, I could still finish them off! This all took place within 5 minutes and was hassle free and set the standard for what customer service should be like. My friend wanted a Nando's and this was the nearest branch. We placed our orders at the till as normal, then a minute before our food was ready, our server got buzzed and asked us if we wanted any cutlery, napkins, sauces etc. Frankly, I don't get the point of this change in policy - at this point, we had paid up front, so no convenient way to tip. Why go part-table service? The cutlery was nearby, but the drinks machine was at the other end of the restaurant and I still had to fetch and refill my soft drink myself. My friend's beer curiously did come under table service. I would have much rather had my drink brought to me and fetched the cutlery myself. With a leg injury, walking so far to get to the soft drinks dispenser was painful and difficult - normally Nando's branches have multiple machines strategically located to avoid customers having to go far. Another waiter took my friend's plate whilst I was still eating and gave us dessert menus. Given the restaurant was half-empty and I was clearly still eating (cutlery not together, decent amount of food on plate), I found this rude and confusing. How many people order dessert at Nando's usually? And how many after being rushed? If I'm still eating my main and you present me with a dessert menu, you've lost my custom. Another server had limited self-awareness and she constantly got in my way as I crossed the restaurant. The staff on the tills barked out questions anxiously as if trying to manage a long line of people, but there weren't very any. I wouldn't mind during busy periods, however I found this behaviour strange during such a quiet service. Other than our main waiter (Eves), I felt the entire front of house team just weren't up to much and I'm not sure how they would cope with a full restaurant. There are only a few things greater than a medium spiced peri peri at Nandos. On arrival I was asked how many I would like the table for, I politely replied two. We were escorted to our table and I thought nah bun this mate, and we moved to the bigger table to make our experience more pleasant. I was also asked, "have you been to Nandos before?" I thought "have I been to Nandos before? I practically live in Nandos". I went and ordered two soft drinks, got them rather swiftly thanks to the man behind the counter who was as fast as someone off their face on speed. After a couple of cheeky glasses of the branded cola we all know about, it was time to order. I went up and subtly said, I am a yelp reviewer, they acknowledged and took my order, before I could even sit down my food had arrived! I thought blimey that was quick! My colleague on the other hand had to wait a shocking 10 minutes! Overall a rather splendid effort from the staff at this Nandos. Very good chicken. The near almost fall of the bone. The chicken skin is to tasty. I chose Hot Peri Peri so the skin has a nice spicy kick to it. Fabulous! Plus, they have a wide selections of sauce bottles in the restaurant you can grab to your table to have with your chicken. My favorite is the Hot Pomegranate sauce. I was just taken aback by how small the chicken was. I ordered half a chicken, andvwhen it came, I was like, that's it? For almost 8 pounds, maybe that's justified? We stayed at the Park Plaza around the corner. Not embarrassed to say that this was one of our favorite places to eat during our stay in London. We walked here for dinner two nights in a row. The chicken is just A+, amazing, wonderful. Great seasoning, tender, delicious. The rice is my favorite. The mashed potatoes are awesome! The fries are decent but made wonderful by the peri peri seasoning. There is so much flavor and I'd eat here quite often if I lived close to one. I am not going to lie, I am a little disappointed about my first Nando's experience. I wanted to go to check it for weeks and I finally did. Go the CHicken thights with fries and coleslaw. The fries were a little warm, but not much, the chicken was tender but nothing special. No crackling skins, no crustyness, nothing really special. The slaw was not bad, not too saucy, crunchy, it was ok. But between the fries and the chickey, bof bof. is there something different I should have tried? I have looked at the menu, and they have corn on the cob, half, full chicken, wings etc, so maybe I will have to go check it back but whe nis the big question.
