    Hummus Platter

The food is amazing!! We had the hummus with pita and the rainbow bowl- with chicken thighs and one with shredded chicken. Delicious. We loved the pickled vegetables on the bowl and the chicken was so flavorful. The place was nicely decorated and clean. My only complaint was that we were seated with no direction on how to order. Since it was our first time there, it would have been nice to have someone explain that they prefer you to order at the counter or by using the QR code. We sat waiting for a server before we figured out we needed to do it on our own. We did have lots of people check on us once we got our food. I'd come back for the food.

Great service very nice and welcoming people. The food came out very fast but the fries were a lil cold. Love the atmosphere and music. So happy to be there and a great meal!

Nandos is consistently a stop for me and has been since I had them in 2019 in the UK. I was so excited to find them right around the corner from my hotel. The sauces are so yummy and I recommend you sign up for their app to get a free order of garlic bread. The people working were so friendly and made sure we were taken care of and all our needs were met. The Portuguese rice is always a must. The cauliflower was great too. The ambiance of the place was so nice and artsy. I love it here !! They also have some really yummy juices and teas even a South African tea !!

A Peri Peri chicken bowl is all you need after a few drinks. So flavorful and delicious! Super quick service. Bonus: the bathrooms were clean!

Everything tasted really good. Out of the meal I enjoyed the chicken and the mac n cheese! Caesar salad was alright. Our server was sweet and kept checking in with us!

A great Nando's in harbor east. There's always a lot of employees and it feels like a higher ends restaurant vs a fast casual one. The food here is like any other Nando's. This is what you get when you go to a chain, but I will say what I love about this one location specifically as the fact that they have an array of sauces with containers. Their peri-peri- sauce is what they are known for after all. I remember when America didn't have Nando's so it's always a treat when I go and their half chicken is really good. I miss their coleslaw. The new recipe isn't the same. The halloumi here is also really good, but I would avoid their sandwiches.

I heart Nando's and this location was excellent! The staff was extremely attentive. The food was worth the wait. And the seating still looks brand new and the whole place was very clean. Parking can be challenging but we scored a metered spot on the street around the corner. I would definitely return for another meal.

The chicken is FIRE!!! I got a to-go order of 1/2 chicken with 2 sides. I tried to go the healthier route with some of the new upgraded side options they have added to their menu. I got Brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes, but I wasn't impressed with either of them for the $2 up charge per side order. They have A LOT of sodium in their products so be mindful to look at nutrition facts if needed. I always get my chicken plain-ish and add the dipping sauces on the side, but they have a variety of flavors to choose from. They have obviously gotten more expensive over the years, but I was able to eat twice on a half chicken, so that helped. This visit, the girl at the register seemed like she didnt want to be at work that day, so she didnt take a name for my order (so I sat there waiting for an order that was never called) and I didn't get my toppings on the side as requested, but everyone else was extremely helpful. The dining area is spacious, so I might stay to dine in next time because I know the food is 10x better when you eat it fresh off the grill.

Whenever I am in Baltimore I try to hit a Nando's. I can't get them in Philly. I love their chicken. I will always love their chicken. The medium gives off the perfect balance of flavor and heat for me. Only drawback... and I get that inflation is real. To get a side with a half chicken is $2.99. Fine with me. I ordered a side of rice. And I swear it was a kids meal size. It was a small box filled about half way. For $2.99 they should fill the little box. I'm just sayin. I did love the staff. The guy who took care of my order hustled and took care of us.

Got take out this time and decided Mac and cheese this time and I feel like at this point Nandos can do no wrong lol ! 10/10

The receipt as proof of my purchase. Affordable and delicious!!!

I was blown away during my visit. The service was polite and professional as soon as I walked in the door. The server as well as the manager checked on my table many times. They made sure we understood the menu as well as how to order. You order at the front counter, which is different from many places but it was easy and gave us time to read the menus. The music was seemingly of African origin and I loved it. I was born in a multicultural city so it reminded me of home. The seating and atmosphere were also welcoming and comfortable. Many delicious sauces were also available for free and they were all delicious. The food itself was incredible. I quite literally cleaned my plate and so did my spouse. The mix of fresh peppers, greens, and humus paired perfectly with the rice and chicken in my Peri-Peri chicken bowl was some of the best food I have EVER eaten. I chose the "Hot" level of flavor for the sauce on my chicken and I loved it so much I had to buy a bottle before I left. The manager was especially welcoming given that it was our first time visiting the restaurant. He often made sure we were enjoying the food and we felt so welcome.

Nando's has some great chicken from my past experiences. This recent visit, I ordered the 1/4 chicken with 2 sides - fries and coleslaw and with the lemon herb sauce. Portion sizes were good. Unfortunately, my sauce was left off but I was able to grab some while I was there for my take out. The chicken was a bit more charred than what I would have liked but was still juicy. Fries were crispy and the coleslaw was just ok to me. The location is big and spacious. Staff are fine. It's a casual dining spot for some good chicken with the highlight on the sauces they have!

They serve pork, beef, shellfish, or seafood in the restaurant. Nandos is full Halal in most countries but is not certified Halal in the US because the chicken is not certified Halal. They also have a lot of vegetarian and vegan items.

The awning outside needs refurbishment and inside furniture is not updated. It's dark inside, almost like a night club. Perhaps it is sometimes. I did not like the decor, it was a little run down and honestly did not match up to the prices. The service was also disappointing. I felt that staff lacked a bit of professionalism and they rarely checked on us. The plates are huge. That is a plus. My partner ordered the goat and I tried the red snapper. I think one plate is big enough to share. I like the spinach, but everything needed a bit of salt. While the red snapper was coated in a lovely tomato and red pepper gravy, I felt it made the crispyness of the fried fish disappear and it was kind of soggy. Maybe you can ask for the gravy on the side. The food is not bad, but given the physical establishment and the service I wouldn't return.

There are some gorgeous pieces of beaded jewelry, artwork, clothing, and more in this store. This is an authentic African collection store so you can find just about anything that you'd like that will relate to your African roots. Mr. Kwame was really pleasant, friendly, he engaged his customers, and he just innately knew what we liked or what he thought would be pretty on us. Blue is my favorite color and he picked out this wonderful dress and I fell in love with it instantly. It fits well, has pockets, and a belt to match. My daughter came into the store and before she could begin to browse, he took one look at her, pulled the mannequin inside, and removed the dress from it. He gave it to her with a humble, rather gorgeous smile, and said, "This was made just for you." She turned to see that it was the dress from the mannequin and once again the words, "I love it!," were squeaked into the air. She went to the fitting room to try it on and it fit very well. So we bought it! She wore the dress right out of the store. I changed into mine later and pinned my hair up with the beaded hair pin. Mrs. Sandy got the orange and yellow dress with a bracelet. She absolutely loved that too. You cannot go wrong in this store. I really thought that he was not going to have anything to fit me because I have such large bosoms, however he did. It surprised me. I highly recommend this establishment. Tell Mr. Kwame that the "Shawn, Lady in Blue" sent you. LoL! 5 Stars.

For me, the restaurant was a perfect introduction to Afro-Caribbean cuisine. As someone with little prior experience with the cuisine, I went into the meal open-minded and excited to see what was to come. The restaurant is located off to the side of the Salamander's main lobby, and from the very first peek inside, the space screams elegance. The interior design is sleek, clean, and intentionally dark, featuring a fully black color palette with dim, moody lighting. Despite the sophisticated appearance, our first interactions with the hosts were warm and inviting, giving off a much more laid-back vibe than I expected. After taking our first steps into the restaurant, it was much bigger than it seemed from the entrance. Despite this, it was exceptionally well-staffed. Our table was ready when we got there, and we were seated immediately. Throughout the night, the staff was fast and efficient. It was never hard to get someone's attention, and our server constantly did rounds to ensure everything was running smoothly. However, as the evening progressed, I noticed the service being a little formulaic. Every interaction felt scripted, as I heard the same verbiage being used with the tables next to us. I ultimately didn't have a problem with this, as it ensures consistency and smooth execution across all tables and visits. As for the menu, it was very concise. Only being one page, I thought it was the perfect size. It offered enough variety to be interesting without being so vast that it felt overwhelming. Every option felt unique, showcasing flavors and ingredients I wasn't entirely familiar with, yet everything felt enticing and highly orderable. Our server ran down the menu and enthusiastically suggested much more food than we could realistically handle. We ended up selecting a snack, a small share, a large share, and a bread option. This felt like the right amount of food to get a proper, well-rounded survey of what the kitchen has to offer. Although the kitchen courses the meal out, the dishes seemed to have arrived at our table as soon as they were ready. We ordered the piri piri salad, the charbroiled oysters, Mom Duke's shrimp, and the chicken and rice. The first thing to hit our table was the piri piri salad, which featured a beautiful presentation. The bright colors of the fresh ingredients popped vividly against the dark plate. While the salad itself only took up a fraction of the plate, it was matched by just the right amount of dressing to fully coat the salad. After mixing everything together, it harmonized perfectly. The piri piri flavor came through beautifully, delivering its signature spice alongside a fruity, tangy taste. This heat was nicely balanced by the surprising addition of fresh grapes for sweetness, the rich creaminess of avocado, and crisp seasonal ingredients that highlighted a delicious combination of textures. This was followed by the charbroiled oysters, which arrived as a pair alongside a lemon wedge. Of all the dishes we ordered, I found the oysters to be the least interesting, essentially just being a somewhat standard one-bite flavor bomb. I was also a bit disappointed to see that the two oysters weren't even close to the same size. Because of this, we had trouble splitting them equally between two people. While they were definitely flavorful, they are on the more expensive side at fourteen dollars, and they aren't necessarily something I would order again. The next two dishes were amazing. When the shrimp was brought out, the presentation looked a little messy, but the aroma made it clear that the dish would be packed with flavor. The shrimp itself was cooked to perfection. The head and shell were still intact, which forced us to interact directly with the food and peel it apart at the table. The shrimp sat soaking in an incredibly well-balanced sauce that was savory, had plenty of acidity, and carried a subtle hint of spice. There was enough sauce to coat every bite, with some left over to be soaked up by the fluffy coco bread served on the side. This was a great dish that was equally fun to eat as it was delicious. Rounding out the meal was the chicken and rice. The meat was extremely tender while still featuring crispy skin and seasoning that penetrated through the whole chicken, while the rice beneath absorbed all the rich, savory juices of the dish. But what really made the dish click was the perfect balance of temperatures and textures. The sauce that coated the chicken was very spicy, but combined with the herbs, lime, rice, and chicken altogether, the spice wasn't too overwhelming and was actually quite fresh. It made for a soulful, deeply satisfying conclusion to the meal.

Beautiful decor & fun layout for events or people watching. I tried Nigerian staples and was my…read morefirst for these. The suya here might've looked tough but it was so juicy, tender, and not salty. The red stew with oxtail and jollof were nice but salty. I've had better jollof. The Nigerian fruit mocktail was great it has a unique flavor. The bathroom was so pretty as well I enjoyed snapping pictures in the mirror. The service was great. We were served quicker than they expected given I requested a seat in a different area. Go check it out!

3/5 stars My…read moreboyfriend is Cameroonian and we love trying different African restaurants around the DC area. I'd heard great things about The Continent, so it felt like a must-try especially since Swahili Village is one of our go-to favorites for comparison. The space itself was great, nice interior, well-decorated, and service was solid throughout. They also had two distinct vibes going: one side had a bit of a DJ/lounge energy, while the other was more elegant and laid-back, better for actual dinner conversation. We sat on the calmer side. Drinks were good. We had a sangria and a tequila-based cocktail, both solid. For appetizers, we got the shrimp and the beef samosas. Unfortunately, the beef samosas just didn't hold up compared to Swahili Village's. I've had Swahili Village's beef samosas multiple times and they always come out hot, crispy, and consistent. These didn't quite match up, and that was strike one for me. The shrimp appetizer was nice, good sauce, though it could've used a bit more depth of flavor. I also ordered the pepper soup, which was excellent and genuinely spicy (more than I could really handle, but I still finished it). For entrées, my boyfriend got the Suya with jollof rice, and I got the red snapper with jollof rice as well. He really enjoyed his. The beef was cooked well and flavorful, and the jollof rice was good. My fish was also cooked nicely, though the sauce needed a bit more flavor. The bigger issue: they were out of plantains. That was strike two, and it stung more because it was my boyfriend's birthday dinner and plantains are his favorite. It's rare for an African or Caribbean restaurant to run out of them entirely. Overall, a decent experience, but with the high expectations going in, a couple of misses kept it from fully living up to the hype for us. I'd go back for the pepper soup and give it another shot, but I'm hoping for hotter, fresher samosas and actual plantains next time.
