Trying something different today It's really cool and cute in here . A number 1 meal and a milkshake could cost about $18 . Dont come in here trying to be cheap. The chicken is Hot ! But you can pick the level of heat . Kitchen was fast , everything appeared to be clean Enjoy !
With all the hot chicken places that have recently opened in the area I saw that Dave's was the latest edition. After leaving the gym, I decided to stop by and give them a try. The inside looks nice. You can tell that it's new because everything is very clean and well kept. They have the option to order online, but I decided to just stop in in person. I just ordered a meal with two tenders and fries. There was no drink included, but it was only $12 for the meal. They have a variety ofsauces at different levels of heat intensity that you can choose from. I always go with the milder variety. It took a rather long time for my order to come out. I expected it to be a little bit quicker because it was so simple. Overall, not too bad. The attendance I had were OK. Nothing to write home about. Next time I would probably get some of the chicken bites
We decided to check this place out on a whim after seeing the mixed Yelp reviews. We ordered the 2 tender and fries combo priced at just $12. Ordering online was a breeze, and I appreciated that my meal was ready when we arrived. The tenders were hot and fresh, and I loved that the fries were crispy. The pickles were a nice touch alongside the honey sauce and bread. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended for me. I really wanted to enjoy my meal, but I just didn't. The chicken was heavily seasoned with cumin, which personally didn't sit well with me on tenders. The fries were also overly seasoned, and to top it off, the sauce had this odd taste that I still can't quite put my finger on. Given the overall experience, I don't think I'll be returning. I gave it 3 stars mainly for the ease of online ordering, the colorful decor, and the convenient location. Hopefully, they can tweak a few things for a better experience in the future.
Now THIS slider got my attention. I went into today to claim one of their free chicken sliders for Drakes birthday and the guy at the front was very friendly. When I rushed home to try it, I couldn't stop eating! I also thought the same thing that other people are saying, the chicken is too good on its own and doesn't need the bun tbh. I liked how they added a bit of purple cabbage slaw along with the crunchy and briny pickles. Very tasty! It's a fried chicken breast encrusted in lots of spices. I got the 'Hot' and it was perfectly hot for me! (Unlike lots of other major fast food chains). I'll probably venture out to try a hotter level next time I come here and try their tenders! Their Dave's sauce tastes exactly like Cane's sauce to me; it was good.
The place was clean, and they offered a good selection of frozen slushies and ice cream shakes. However, I was disappointed with Dave's Hot Chicken because my son ordered two medium chicken tenders but received one that was hot. This mistake ruined his experience, especially since it was his first time there. I hope they can find a better way to ensure that customers receive the spice level they request in the future. Additionally, the Dave sauce is quite sweet, so I'm not sure if I prefer it over Cane's sauce.
I was blown away how crispy the chicken was even after a 25 minute drive back home. I recommend getting the hot and medium level spice. Adding honey takes the flavor to the next level. Friendly workers and clean restaurant!
The restaurant is kinda small and I can see that seating is probably and issue during busy times. They have some nice murals up on their walls though! I ordered their Dave's #1, which included 2 tenders, fried and each tender comes with toast. My husband got the same thing, except when we got our order, they replaced his fries with coleslaw. We told them it must have been a miscommunication and they imme replaced it back with fries. The cashier was also really nice to offer some extra packets of Dave's sauce to us. I got one tender in hot and another on extra hot. Both did not feel spicy to me, but that's because I really love spicy food! I was too scared to try their reaper because I heard it is several times spicier than their extra hot. I think next time I will try their reaper and order a milkshake to go with it in case it is too spicy. Their wrinkle fries are absolutely delicious, fluffy and somehow full of flavor even without dipping it into Dave's sauce! I would say this is probably one of the better tasting fast food places I've been to. I think it helps that their menu is very small/limited so they can focus on making sure their food is good.
I had high expectations given the popularity of this chain. The chicken was alright- nothing outstanding or special. The "Hot" wasn't hot/spicy at all and it was VERY salty. I ate at most half of the chicken slider and tried some fries with their sauce and fried cauliflower. Sauce is fine, but their fries I expected more flavor perhaps- I do like the Krinkle cut shape though. I've had better fried chicken at other establishments. The slaw within the slider lacked flavor as well- wasn't anything groundbreaking or special. I barely ate much and I'm left incredibly thirsty with an upset stomach. I cannot see myself coming back again. I feel this place is overhyped. I expected more from this place.
The chicken was better than expected for a fast casual place - juicy, crunchy, and you could tell it was fresh. It was perfect with a little honey drizzled on top. Do yourself a favor and get the tenders, not the slider - you don't need the bun interfering with the chicken. The fries are the cafeteria style crinkle cut with a little seasoning. The kale slaw was creamy and a good foil to the heat from the chicken, however, it was 90% purple cabbage.
First time trying this restaurant after hearing about its recent opening. Upon entering the restaurant I was blown away seeing the absolutely beautiful wall art. I ordered 3 chicken tenders with medium heat to try it out. The staff were very helpful with going over the menu prior to ordering. I was given a buzzer while I waited for my food. The food came out pretty quickly. The tenders were juicy and flavorful and I loved the dipping sauce with the pickles on the side. Will definitely be back for more.
And just like that... My rating has gone from a 5 to a 1. Of course the staff was competent and the food was edible on friends and family night. Two days later? Not so much. I came back, ordered #1 hot and #4 hot with cheese. Sat down to wait and something told me to check my receipt. The receipt said I asked for cheese on the #1 and no cheese for #4. Who is putting cheese on tenders? I inform the staff before they present my order to me. They said ok they will fix. I go to sit back down. Buzzer goes off. I check my food before walking off. #4 now has cheese. One of the tenders in #1 still has cheese. -_- They "fix" it. And by fix I mean swapping out the cheese tender and putting it on the sandwich bun. 15 minute wait outside, 20+ minute wait inside for this?! And it wasn't even good this time around! They need to keep the same energy from friends & family night cause this isn't it.
From the lines, the questions, the vibe-you'd think Owings Mills got its first 5star Michelin restaurant. Close. We got Drakes or Ushers or someone's favorite hot chicken. It's called Dave's Hot Chicken, but hot is a euphemism for hellfire. Go for the toddler level fire and you will still be plenty hot. I'd give Dave the award for biggest wings in town (sorry Cane). Crinkle cut fries were fried right. Chicken was huge and crispy, although I suspect it was frozen at one point of its life cycle. Soda machine had many of the known choices: Dr Pepper, Coke, Coke Zero blah blah, blah. Pickles were crisp and juicy, winning. I came without wearing a college t-shirt which made me feel out of place. Teens and pre-teens predominate here, and they are happy! Take that Michelin!
Welcome to the neighborhood! The use of the term "slider" is laughable. These are whole entire sandwiches! Delicious ones. Adhere to the word "Hot" and proceed with caution. The heat levels range from no spice to Reaper. I can't handle a ton of heat so I went with mild and it was just enough heat so I could taste the quality of the chicken. The fries were average as was mac and cheese. The Dave's sauce resembles a mayo/ketchup blend with added sweetness. Nothing super special. ChickFila count your days. Customer service was Excellent for a Sunday late morning crowd. Since they just opened a couple days ago, I recommend waiting a couple weeks if you don't want to wait 20 minutes. No online ordering available yet. Enjoy!
A little pricey but definitely worth a try. My daughter loved the mozzarella sticks and the chicken tenders were huge and bursting with flavor. read more

I looooove Dave's Hot Chicken!! This time I went with the slider meal (my go-to) in HOT and it was perfect. That daves sauce is the key for counteracting the heat... the coleslaw and pickles help, too. Don't skimp on those crinkle fries... crispy outside, soft inside, great seasoning that isn't overwhelming. Jeremy got an assortment of chicken, including tenders. I think he loves Dave's more than I do. I'm so glad this chain exists and seems to be popping up everywhere. Keeping my fingers crossed for a location in Dundalk, soon. read more

Came here to see what the all the riff was about. For 15$ you get 2 chicken strips and some seasoned crinkle fries, plus 5 pickle slices. I ordered online through Yelp. My order was ready in about 18 mins. There was a very long line. The store was clean. The overall test of the food was average. I got plain tenders no sauce. Not better the cains unless you like the hot sauces. Dave has their own sauce but I couldn't try it. read more

We decided to try this place for quick Saturday night dinner and Dave's Hot Chicken really hit the spot! The inside is decorated really nice and they do have limited seating outside and indoor. Luckily we were able to get the last table when we walked in. The staff were nice and helpful in deciding the heat level for our chicken. We each ordered the slider and tender combo meal with cheese fries. Whew! The chicken was so flavorful and juicy. Their special sauce with pickle combination was unmatched. We ordered medium and it was the perfect spice level. Both of our meals plus large drinks were under $35, not too bad for the amount of food we got! Definitely recommend! read more

Nice location and convenient to get to. Not in a crowded area. Friendly service and clean restaurant. Bright and colorful inside. They have crinkle cut fries which I love and they were pretty good. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich. They have a sauce that you have to sign a waiver before they serve it to you. I don't need anything that hot. The hot seasoning was pretty good and can definitely feel the heat. Overall good chicken sandwich which I would order again. read more

Easy ordering with the app. The whole meal is delicious. My fav flavor is hot for the tenders. Xtra hot is really good too. Having the slice bread and pickles slices are awesome to cool off. The fries are crispy and have a nice light seasoning. Overall excellent taste. read more

It was pretty busy when I went and we had to wait a little bit for the food (maybe 20 min). Overall, pretty decent experience, staff was friendly and attentive. The menu is fairly basic and to the point but the chicken is good. (Better than Raising Cane's in my opinion.) I only got the mild sauce and that was plenty for me - didn't need to raise the heat level for me (there are tons to choose from). There is outdoor seating available. It's a fast good spot, so the ambiance was fairly basic - very typical for this spot. This location is fairly small. Glad it's here. Will definitely be going back. read more

If you want good Nashville hot chicken without driving to DC for Roaming Rooster or Arlington Hot Lola, Dave's is great. I got hot and the taste profile is amazing! I think it's on par if not better than Roaming Rooster. The price is very reasonable and was really quick. We got our foods within 10 minutes. There are plenty of inside and outside seating as well. The biggest bonus is it's Halal! I'll definitely comeback again. read more

The food was great. The line/wait was annoying and there were so many teens but its what you expect from a grand opening. I tried the slider + tender with fries and Mac& cheese. Surprisingly, the fries blew me away. The food overall did not disappoint. 100%I believe this establishment is worth trying. First time trying Daves Hot Chicken and was pleasantly surprised. Calling the chicken sandwich a slider is a bit deceiving as its a normal sized chicken sandwich so for the price its very worth! The pieces of chicken were large, juicy and flavorful. The cauliflower bites were my personal favorite. Happy to say that when they say hot or extra hot they mean it! If you are someone that loves spice this is definitely the place to try. The spice on the chicken is powdery which is not my cup of tea but despite that it was still enjoyable. My husband and I had been seeing ads for this for weeks and finally went to give it a try!! It was so good! We got the sandwich and the fingers, in different flavors, to try it all! They are very generous with the pickles and they are delicious! The fries have a great seasoning on them and the chicken is so tender and juicy! We ordered online and were very surprised that it only took 15 minutes for our order to be ready! We didn't stay to eat, but the restaurant was pretty crowded and a line rapidly formed! read more
