I was embarrassed at what had occurred today in this establishment. I had dropped a $20 bill and this female employee picked it up. My brother CLEARLY saw her pick it up and when we confronted her about it she lied and said she didn't. If this is how every employee acts I will never recommend this place to anyone. I like this location because it isn't as crowded as the one at Arundel Mills. The service is average, your order gets taken and someone brings it to you when it's ready. The food is great. Usually i get the kale Caesar salad with medium sauce on my chicken. As of lately, I've been getting the PeRi PeRi bowl with medium sauce of course and extra chicken. This review is after my second visit to this establishment, the first being take-out and then this visit was a sit-down. My first visit included a 1/4 chicken dark with a side of the Portuguese Rice and I happen to parlay a couple different Peri-peri sauces/ marinades and was pleasantly please with the outcome. I mixed in a little Medium Hit Peri-peri with my rice to give it a little kick and I put in a little too much. Go sparingly with those of you have never tried them. My second visit included a 1/4 chicken white with a side of the Portuguese Rice and Mashed Taters. Also decided to try some Peri-peri wings. I must say the white meat is so much better for dipping with the sauces/marinades than the dark meat. The rice was on point again, but the taters could have used quite a bit of seasoning as they were pretty bland. Finally the wings, well I could have passed on those because they had absolutely no seasoning at all. I will pass on those from here on out. Other than the food, the place is very nice and well designed with the exception of the throw pillows in the booths. They actually are quite annoying should you need to leave the booth for any reason. Nando's has been on my list of places to go for a while now and I can finally cross it off my list. It was everything I expected it to be meal wise. Super flavorful paired with a large portion. The restaurant it self is what caught me by surprise. The Farmers table set up near the front door was a cool concept. I bet it's packed during happy hour! The deco matched the theme of the restaurant which a lot of places miss the mark. The staff was really friendly and offered assistance if people had questions about the menu. Since it was my first time I figured I'd get my feet wet and get a Peri Peri Bowl. For comparison sake I will say it's not as much food as you would get from a Chipotle but it's enough to fill you up for lunch. The flavors where on point and everything was fresh. This is the Nando's location I frequent most often. The last two times I've gone here, I've had exceptional service. I should probably branch out more with my choices, but I cannot say enough good things about their mashed potatoes and garlic bread . Let me start off by saying that I love Nando's food, and that's why I keep coming back. Last night we ordered roasted chicken, garlic bread, olives, and hummus with pita bread. I enjoyed all of it. Three stars (and maybe that is generous) because, upon entering, we encountered a "hostess" who was FaceTimeing with a friend, while coloring with the complementary crayons (according to the conversation, her friend's new dorm room looks great!). We requested an outdoor table, and she pointed to one and handed us four menus. Never have I not been escorted to a table by the hostess. Nevertheless, we found our way through a patio littered with napkins and trash to the table number that she assigned us and sat down at a dirty table. There were three or four female patrons standing and chatting on the patio, and one other table was occupied. As I was walking, I joked to one of my friends that I was already formulating a yelp review in my head. That's when I realized that the girls who I thought were patrons were actually employees. When they heard me, they jumped to action, and quickly got the trash off of the ground. Never did they clean our or any other table that I saw. Other than that, all of the interactions that we had with the staff were very pleasant. The food was good, and we had a nice time. The one last unpleasant event was my trip to the bathroom on the way out of the restaurant. It was badly in need of a good cleaning. I ordered the boneless chicken breast extra spicy with a side of macho peas to-go. When I got home to reveal the wonderful expectedly yummy meal, I was super disappointed in the portion size (for $12.00). I have small hands and the chicken was smaller then my closed fist. The staff here we're super attentive; checking on us, clearing stuff out, not rushing me to finish my jug of Sangria... That's a must by the way. Happy Hour 4-6 Sunday through Thursday jugs of Sangria are about $8 (instead of $16) and you'll get about 3-4 full cups out of it. So with a glass being about $5 it's a great deal. Also, when you finish your jug you must eat your fruit. It's good for you. Also it's been soaking in sangria so it's a crime not to. I always get the same thing so you'll see it in reviews for other Nando's locations. The chicken wrap, add hallomi cheese. Side of garlic bread or potatoes. Lunch with my friend. This was my first time here and I must say that I actually enjoyed it. I drove by this place a dozen times and never thought about checking them out. I ordered the chicken breast wrap with mild sauce and French fries and it was delicious. The staff is very pleasant. I ordered a slice of carrot cake to-go. It was so-so. Usually I order the mango & lime and the lemon & herb for my wing flavors; and each time it's always super good! Yesterday my workplace decided to get lunch together and we all decided on Nando's and I was super excited because it had been a while since I've last had their wings. I ordered the 12 piece wings (came out to be $13) and I got my flavors like I wanted. When I went to pick up the order everything was smooth. The food was on the table waiting for me (and it was still hot) so I was pretty satisfied with that. When I got back to work and opened my wings, I was disappointed. The wings weren't even wings, they were more like wingettes. They were so SMALL and I was pretty appalled that they were $13. I felt like their wing sizes have definitely dropped since the last time I've been there. This was my 2nd time with Nando's and it was definitely better this time around...well for the most part. So this time we ordered to-go, the whole chicken that came with 2 large sides. Um "large" is definitely an overstatement. A large side barely feeds 2 ppl, so annoying. We ordered the rice and the butternut squash mix. Yooo I'm legit sure they sat in the back and ate out of my butternut squash. The box was NOT even filled up. It looked like someone ate half and put it back. We were beyond pissed. The box of rice was filled up but it was still a small box. Despite the small portions, both sides were delicious. I absolutely LOVE that butternut squash mix. OMG, it's so good and you should definitely order it. Anyway, the chicken was bomb.com. It was well seasoned and very flavorful. I usually don't like white meat bc it's dry and tasteless but Nando's was juicy and tasty. Nando's deserves 5 stars for their food but I just can't bc of how they ripped us off with the sides. So today, we went to the Laurel location to enjoy the outdoor band. The food was amazing. I literally had to call the two ladies I went to Waugh Chapel with and tell them that Nandos in Laurel was a hit. The food was sooooo good. I had the chicken breast... soooo good. Didn't even need extra sauces. Wasnt dry... very tender and full of flavor. The squash side was pretty good. Corn on the cob... yum... it is grilled. Rice... yum. So the kids like going to Nandos for thr frozen yogurt... bottomless. When we arrived thr machine was out of order. The kids were super disappointed... as was I as this was apart of our decision to go to Nandos. The manager offered free desserts to the kids... which more than made up. Thr carrot cake... amazing. When I saw Steve Raichlen recreate the signature chicken on Primal Grill, I had to give the new local version a try, even though it is in the parking challenged Towne Centre at Laurel. Peri-peri is actually the name of the chili, similar to a Thai bird, and about the Scoville level (based on tasting the sauces while waiting for the food to arrive) of a Serrano. You can choose from 5 levels of spice. Medium had a nice scalp sweating kick, just right for this fan of Thai and Korean food. The recipe and original restaurant originated with Portuguese in East Africa, but the decor and music seemed more Brazilian to me. They have adopted the newly popular format of pay at the counter and have the food run to the table. To me this meant waiting in line an traditional time to order and pay. The Nandocas' Choice sounded good: "A whole butterflied Peri-Peri chicken breast served on garlic bread and topped with our crunchy house-made coleslaw." It turned out to be a smallish sandwich - see photo. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the fries were fresh and nicely fried. Still, that didn't seem like much food for $11.75, especially compared to Sardi's where that would get you a half chicken and two sides and a fountain drink and no upcharge for spicy mayo to dip the fries. Portuguese beer was quite nice. Four restrooms, all labeled Unisex. Summing up, pretty good food but not a good value. I might stop in for happy hour prices if I was in the area, but would not seek them out again for a regular meal. read more

Winner winner chicken dinner! Went to Nando's with two friends for their housewarming event and we couldn't have asked more more. Literally, we even took the leftovers home:p When we arrived to Nando's, there were servers everywhere, ready to seat us, take our order with no wait at the cashier's line, and help answer any questions we had! As part of their event, we were allowed to order any entree and drink for free! I ordered the lemon and herb flavored chicken with the Peri-peri fries and mashed potatoes and boy was I a happy camper. All the flavors were intensely strong and when combined with other sauces, I was mind blown. My favorite was the garlic sauce. My friend also ordered the macho peas (mashed peas) which was the perfect vegetable side to the chicken. Ever had a pot pie with mashed peas on top? This was better. BOY, and if that wasn't enough, they said we could also get an appetizer, a drink (sans alcohol), and a dessert! We ordered the 6 wings in medium hot sauce for the appetizer, and Portuguese egg tarts. Wish the tarts were warm, but the crispiness of outside shell was still baked to a golden perfection. I ordered the cappuccino was was sub par to other cappuccinos, but still enjoyable. AND WE HAD BOTTOMLESS FROZEN YOGURT. To top it all off, this Nando's is located in a newly developed Laurel town center where there is a Harris Teeter, movie theatre, a Tutti Frutti and many more restaurants and stores set to open this 2014. read more

New development, more stores coming, a movie theater, 24 hr Harris Teeter....trust me when I say this time next year that shopping center is going to be one of the main places to get some good shopping and eating in. I have been to quite a few Nando's Peri Peri locations and as always I was not disappointed! The ambience was relaxing BUT it did get a little noisy. If you can tone that out your are good to go. We sat in one of the moon shaped booths in the back and it was a great spot for my family of 4. There were throw pillows on the chairs..very comfy. From the cheerful hostess, to the waitress that tended to our table the customer service was impeccable! I have no complaints at all. The gentleman at the cash register...I'm sorry I didn't get his name because he was awesome! Took time to explain the menu to my mother and made sure she got everything she wanted just as she wanted #awesome I ordered 1/4 chicken with red mashed potatoes and garlic bread sticks. OMG the breadsticks were perfect! Soft garlicky center (but not mushy) and crispy outside #mouthwatering The chicken was super moist, I love that the charcoal taste is like the kick to there great seasoning. I manage to get this dish every time I go. :-) I didn't get the Sangria at this location but I can imagine that it's just as delicious as it is at the other locations. I've come several times since my first post.... It is a must that I specify I want my chicken well done and cooked thoroughly. Otherwise it is not grilled all the way through. I love the mango lime sauce...or I get the mild sauce. My go-to sides are the butternut squash & corn and the red skinned mashed potatoes. I love the butternut squash so much that I looked up the recipe on Nando's website and I have made it from scratch. When I go in for a pick-up order I still need to order the white/mango sangria.
