Went in to grab a quick bite and came out a fan. Got the fish gyro and the staff told me it be a 7 min wait, but it'll be worth it! Hearing that sentiment I was intrigued because I never thought about a fish gyro. So when it came out the staff asked what would I like one it. I'm not gonna lie the fish was cooked to perfection. Golden brown and looking like your favorite uncle made it. I asked for the works and as he struggled to close the sandwich I had a bit of excitement on my face, because I was ready for my 2009 chipotle wrapped gyro (not sure if they still fill them like that). And the first bite I felt like an influencer who got paid to give there opinion. Making one of those OMG I can't believe this food taste so good faces willing to throw anything around (I threw my napkin across the table for the effect). But seriously the gyro was really good, it was satisfying, light and immensely flavorful. A late night or last minute go-to. I'm not ever mad at Shah's. We just always get the platter with lamb, rice, onions, lettuce, hummus, black beans, and the white, green, and red sauces. Green is the best to me but all are needed. I prefer the sauces on the side or tell them to put half as much because sometimes the platters are drenched in sauce. The employees are always nice. Well, I've been SUPER BUSY, but to tint I had to get this review done! I am a creature of habit. if I like a place, I will eat there almost daily. I am in looooove with Shah's rice and chicken. It comes with 4 sauces (bbq, white, green, hot). I order light white sauce or white sauce on the side and green and hot sauces on the side. Disclaimer: the hot sauce is HOOOOT!!! The chicken and rice, oh and salad, are oh so fresh. The meal that I get is buy 1 get one, so I have been honestly ordering twice per week for 3 weeks. I have one for lunch then the other the next day. Order again on Wednesday and so on. Zero complaints! The packaging is nice and neat. First time at this spot! As a lover of Halal Guys & Naz's, I had to get this so I could compare. It's located in Laurel diagonally across from the big plaza that has Mad Cow, Harris Teeter, the theater and all those other stores. When you walk in, the menu is simple enough. You can either get chicken, lamb, both, fish, or falafel on a platter of rice, a salad, or a gyro. They have hummus, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, and some sauces as toppings. They also have sides, like pakora fries, regular fries, and baklava. They have subs, wings, and other more fast food-type options too. Water, and some soft drinks are in a fridge on the far wall. I got the combo platter with hummus, which I've never done before... and honestly it made the hummus hot in a not so great way haha. But did it taste delicious? YES. I got the pakora fries too, but combined with the platter I was stuffed! But I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. There were tables inside to sit at, but I decided to enjoy the air outdoors. I wasn't fond of the lamb it was the meat texture of the meat you put on a gyro, seasoned tho just did not want lamb in that format. The chicken was seasoned nicely which is what I ate. I've eaten from here 3 times and the food has been consistently delicious! For me that counts for 90% of my decision to support a business. I've only tried the lamb and chicken over rice with all the toppings, including red onions yesterday. I color with all the crayons in the box, so of course I get all 3 sauces! It's so good, I don't need to add anything when I get home! It's takeout style with limited seating, they have canned coke products and bottled beverages - I believe it's Everfresh. Went here a few times already because the food is so good and the prices are not too high. I got the combo platter (chicken and lamb) it was delicious. It's served over brown basmati rice and your choice of toppings, I got veggies and the white and green sauces which were I think tzatziki sauce and coriander sauce. Also, another time I tried the fish over rice platter which are two fried pieces of fish. The staff is very kind and gives good service.
