If you are looking for a a neighborhood feel of a place, then this is the place for you. It really feels like a family you come home to. The people that run this place make sure you are walking into your home dining room to eat. The decor is very sound and welcoming. I have come so many times now that we know the servers by heart. They are very kind and go above and beyond to make your experience a great one. I ordered the sweet potato roll and added spicy tuna. The roll usually comes tempura, battered and with avocado already which most places don't even do. The quality of the fish is phenomenal and fresh and the whole roll put together is great. Another spectacle at this location is the chocolate most dessert. They make it every week and it is a colder version of a three chocolate layered Ferrero Rocher. The side salad is fresh and comes with a ginger glaze, and the miso soup is a perfect balance of savory with the included toppings. Overall everything on this menu is a must try and the ambience, plus the service plus the food makes this an above and beyond place for the suburbs of Chicago. I also met the owner, Michael. He was very kind and one of the things that resonated with me was that he said I want to keep things the way they are. He did mention that the chocolate mousse dessert might come off the menu, which I advised and highly recommended not to do. The korean fried chicken appetizer was not as expected - it was popcorn chicken with dipping sauce on the side. Not bad but definitely not korean fried chicken. At first this place was a bit underwhelming. Upon walking in, it seemed very plain. But what I did enjoy was there playing some nice light lobby jazz and I'm a big jazz fan. We sat in a booth and I noticed there was cushions with little back rest. I found that quite interesting although it would seem like the sushi is just from any other sushi place. They made it quite right without any question. I'm a big fan of salmon, skin hand rolls, and some places you have to ask for it to be extra crispy just the way I like it. But this place we didn't have to do that. It came out extra crispy. With the little amount that we ate, I thought we'd have to go to McDonald's afterwards, that wasn't the case I actually was quite full. Beyond weird experience here. Came in last night and wanted to order some nigiri and a roll. I sat at the bar awkwardly for 15 mins and was not spoken to at all. To be clear they were not particularly busy. The bartender left the bar and as he walked by me I said can I see a menu (he was actively serving a couple at the bar so I am unclear why I was ignored). He directs me to a server. I redirect towards the server. I scan the menu (which was pricey) and tell him I was 8 nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. It is 6:15pm. He rings it up and says ok this will be ready by 8:30pm! What??? 2 hours and 15 mins to slice fish? Nigiri is fish over rice. Nothing fancy to prepare just cutting fish. So I left. I've ordered from Naomi Sushi multiple times before and never had issues, but this experience was honestly shocking. Today I waited about 1.5 hours for delivery, which I was willing to overlook. However, while eating my roll, I found a piece of plastic inside the food, along with another ingredient that clearly did not belong there. This is not just unpleasant -- it's a serious food safety concern. I called the restaurant and spent around 10 minutes on the phone trying to resolve the issue. Instead of taking responsibility, I was put on hold multiple times, told to "call back at 9 pm," and even asked to bring the food back myself!! Eventually, they just disconnected the call!!! I had to contact the delivery service (ChowNow), who thankfully handled the situation professionally and issued a refund for the affected item. Between the contamination and the way this was handled, this experience was extremely stressful and disappointing. I can't recommend this place after what happened! read more

It has been a while since I've been to Naomi's Sushi and after today's visit, I'm asking myself ... Why has it been so long?! Hubs and I wanted a quick, relaxing and filling lunch. We decided it's been a while since we visited Naomi's and I've been wanting edamame so it was perfect! Walking in we were greeted right away and seated. It wasn't very busy just after 12:20, but it picked up while we were eatings. They had a smaller lunch menu and that was fine with us, but we also had the option to order from the full menu too which was nice. I ordered edamame and it arrived hot and perfectly cooked! Well salted with just the right amount of bite to the beans - no mushy beans here! YUM! Hubs ordered the nigiri 8 and I went with the bulgogi bento box (the only beef option). My bento was filled with goodness! I choose fried rice and salad. The salad was crisp and refreshing with just the right amount of citrus ginger dressing. The fried rice was so good I couldn't stop eating it. The bulgogi was tasty, but I don't think I'd order it again. It was cooked with mixed vegetables which was all good, but I was just expecting the beef bulgogi and not a stir-fry dish. That was completely on me for not asking questions and I still devoured all of it. The California Maki is choose to come with my bento was phenomenal! It so so fresh and moist! Husband's Nigiri-8 was incredible! The freshness of the fish is beyond description! We couldn't believe how fresh the fish was and the quality was top notch! It was just the right amount of food for both of us and we left happy, full, and ready to return another day! Service was excellent and the server was so friendly. While understandable during a rush it seemed like the kitchen was prioritizing online orders over the seated customers. What tipped the scale over into not be g interested in coming back was a 3% surcharge for using a credit card on-top of the pricier food. Came to yet another of the many sushi places in Arlington Heights. It kind of looked a little crappy from the outside, a standalone building outside the Target plaza. Naomi is a lot better on the inside though. Mostly this is because of the food. The prices are kind of high, but the rolls are big and high quality. A sushi place like this closes between lunch and dinner. It's often the prices will increase over the ones at lunch, but it wasn't like that though so it makes it one of the better values to be honest. The place certainly looked not as good from the outside, but the inside was better than that. Good prices for the amount. It's about $7 for most rolls. Avocado Maki was filled with creamy and fresh avocado. The Sweet Potato was filled with soft chunks of potatoes. Good place to get really great quality of sushi and still not pay a crazy amount. It doesn't have alcohol, which is about the only really bad thing about it. There's a few rolls that are okay for vegans and vegetarians. read more

We took our family for a good dinner Friday night and it turned out to be the worst experience. It took a long to order drinks and even longer to get them. We asked for to taste one of their wines intending to buy a bottle. They couldn't do that, they could sell us a half glass which was the size of a shot. Because of the delay of the service we chose a beer and a glass of wine instead of the bottle. In the meantime we ordered the appetizers. There was a delay in delivering the appetizers and they came out one at a time. Our son ordered a mixed drink off of the menu after he finished his beer. 20 minutes later I asked the waiter where was the mixed drink. I watched the waiter go to the bar to make it himself. The bartender, showing no ambition, wouldn't let the waiter do that and sent him away. It took another 10 minutes for the drink to arrive. Dinner took a long time to show up and only 3 of the 4 meals arrived. It took so much time for the 4th meal to arrive three of us finished our meals and watched the 4th person eat. Bottom line, they were more busy serving take out orders and were delaying the seated customers in the restaurant. The phone was ringing off the hook-unanswered-the entire time we were there. ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES TO DINE IN. $200. Won't do it again. read more

Careful that you're not too overzealous, as this place has a standalone parking lot, so if you turn in too early, you'll find out the Target parking lot is not connected to Naomi's Sushi's parking lot. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box which included tempura, which had green beans and shrimp. There was also a cucumber salad and a roll of imitation crab meat sushi. Even more, there were three pieces of sashimi. The chicken teriyaki was really good, and although this beast wished there was more chicken, the rest of the bento box filled me up. Service was good for the most part and overall, a really good dining experience. BATHROOM REVIEW: the bathroom is located near the back. I've been back 4 times in the past 3 months and really enjoyed the teriyaki salmon bento (2), bulgogi bento, & the ramen bowl. All delicious. This will be a regular lunch place for me.
