Ok lunch place. The best part is that you can order breakfast meals for lunch. It's OK. Not great, but good enough.

The building houses a raw fish market and a restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor has one host and outdoors has another for seating and the servers meander around with no memory of what they were supposed to be doing. We were seated outside because it was a beautiful day. We expected a nice meal of fish and chips until the 1st 25 person tour showed up and started taking all the chairs. We were handed menus and the server walked away to go service the tour group. They were given a mini soup cup, half a biscuit and they moved along pretty quickly. Our order was taken and then shortly after it was put on the table with no eating utensils or condiments. We asked for both and got silverware. We asked for malt vinegar and it was brought to another table and we got nothing. The food was very greasy and basic because it had no seasoning on the fish or the chips. The cole slaw was good, the tartar sauce was not fresh made and it was a tiny portions. The chips (fries) were cooked well but needed salt and we got none. I would not return here again nor would I go to their food truck that is at the port area. It was over priced and the service was poor.

I stopped in because I live sushi but more than that, I had to try the fresh local coho and sockeye salmon nigiri. It was so fresh and the service was quick and pleasant. They have a large menu with some house specials. The sushi rolls were very big and the extra rice had a great flavor. The landscape outside, upstairs is so beautiful from the large trees and blossoming flowers. There were mostly tourists from the cruiseship but the locals love this place too.

Next I'll pull the current menu so the rolls and chowder can be named without guessing.Stopped into Opa Sushi in Cow Bay while we were walking around Prince Rupert. Cute little town. Not a whole lot going on once you get off the ship. Place was decent. Wood tables. Pretty casual inside. We got edamame, a shrimp tempura roll with avocado and cucumber and that orange roe on top, a fried roll with mayo and hot sauce and green onion, and a bowl of seafood chowder. Chowder had mussels, potatoes, and some shredded crab on top with toast on the side. Flavor was a little different than the sushi I am used to up and down California. Not bad. Just not quite what I expected. The fried pieces were the better of the two rolls. Chowder was creamy and had a decent amount of stuff in it. Wish I had snapped the whole menu. I only got a piece of the board. One of the rolls on there is called Rock and Roll. Sockeye, cream cheese, avocado, rock shrimp tempura on top. Would sit down here again if we were in town and needed lunch. Nothing I would go out of my way for.

A remarkable experience! Service was impeccable. Tastes were both authentic and extraordinary. Portions were more than generous. The venue was (frankly) the highlight of Prince Rupert. The hosts were both enthusiastic and humble. And their pride in the enterprise was justified and impressive. The Zaitouni's have aspirations to expand into other venues...but my caution to them is that this level of service and presentation can never be franchised (regrettably) because it is simply too good to replicate outside the family. (Although...selfishly...I would encourage them to consider Palm Springs if only seasonally!) Forget the Trolly tour. Grab a cab and go directly to savor Arabisk!

We came on a cruise ship tour with Virgin Voyages today through the old trolley tour and people were telling us prior to arrival what an excellent meal we were going to have (and experience). It was more than 5-stars. Sometimes what makes a place so good is not only the exceptional details in food (Ie: real honey and pistachios in baklava, or a hummus recipe that blows your mind) but the personality that comes out with stellar service and owners who are chefs and are involved; everyone in our party was clapping at the end and there were 27 of us. Arabisk delivered flawlessly while still staying open to the public and it appeared, they even made to-go bento-type boxes for another bus!! we have never been to Prince Rupert before and we are really looking forward to coming back. Oh and a lady who owns a very nice shop down by the cruise board said it's her go to also on the island.
