two baskets of food on a picnic table

Stopped by here after walking the Rushbrook Trail. We ordered chicken wings and poutine. The wait was pretty long, but the food came out hot and fresh. I definitely enjoyed the poutine. We saw others order fish & chips and those looked amazing! If ever back, definitely want to try other stuff on the menu.

I highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. They are only open in the summer time from June to mid September. There are no in-door sitting area. Everything is outside. So first you go into the little bolted tub boat shaped building with a roof to pay and to order your food. They make the fish and chips in the trailer beside it. Everything made fresh on the spot. There are three benches outside for their customer. Parking cost $1 per hour to park. I paid $15 for cod and chips with tax all inclusive. It was very delicious and fresh. The chips are nice and crispy. Since you are there, you might as well do the Rush Brook trail. Note that they only accept debit card or cash only.

We met some locals out hiking that recommended Bobs for their fish and chips. It's a ways out of town if you walk. It's a little building on the edge of town that's also a store for fishing gear. You order at the counter and they call your name. We ordered the cod and halibut and also the spicy chicken poutine. The food is cooked at a little food truck that's separate from the building and you can watch them cook. Everything is fresh. The halibut is spot on. Fresh, flaky, and amazing taste. The poutine is artery clogging good! It was fried covered in gravy, covered in cheese, covered in fried chicken, the drowned in hot sauce. Mmmmm They have picnic tables overlooking the harbor. We watched the fisherman clean their boats. I highly recommend this place if you are in town. It's a nice long walk or you can drive to it.

The halibut is amazing. They use a really light and fluffy batter to fry as well. I also got the spicy chicken poutine. It has a little spicy kick to it but nothing too crazy, and i don't like spicy food. Their machine didn't like my American debit card so make sure you have cash. They don't take credit cards.

Upon entering, guests are greeted by a rustic environment featuring tables, a bar, window seating, and outdoor seating in a garden area. The menu includes all the classic sushi options alongside some unique selections. I ordered the Rock 'n' Roll roll and the Red Dragon; both featured fresh fish and meticulously prepared, tightly assembled rolls. OPA Sushi did not compromise on fillings or toppings. My husband ordered the seafood chowder, which he found to be very good. However, given the proximity to crab fishing, he was surprised that imitation crab was used in the dish. Nonetheless, he finished it completely. We also ordered iced tea, served in a can reminiscent of the 1990s, evoking a nostalgic childhood sensation. It had been decades since I last had Brisk iced tea in a can. The service was efficient and prompt, allowing us sufficient time to converse, connect to the Wi-Fi, manage social media posts, and conduct further research on Prince Rupert. Despite being located in Canada, the menu prices did not suggest a tourist-centric establishment; rather, it maintained a local ambiance, particularly towards the evening in the yellow building.

Stopped in a Breaker's Pub during a cruise stop. After being on the ship for days, all I wanted…read morewas a REAL Caesar and REAL poutine. Breaker's did not disappoint. Located on Prince Rupert Island's waterfront, the view is spectacular. I was fortunate because I didn't wait in line and was able to get a table as soon as I got there. Just after that, the line got very, very long. I could see that if you didn't time it just right, you would have to wait, especially with a cruise ship in port. After I was seated, I browsed the menu for my sought after items. I was pleased to see that Breaker's had a separate Caesar menu. I knew then that I was in the right place. I ordered the poutine and a Breakers Caesar. It seemed like the restaurant was short staffed, just like every other establishment after covid, but I already knew what I wanted, so I ordered when I was seated. While I waited for my drink and food, I browsed the menu and it was quite extensive. Specialties being locally sourced fish. The Breaker's Caesar, known for being it's spiciest one, comes in a 16 or 20 oz. I had a double 20 oz. It came dirty with double Worcestershire and horseradish, I knew I couldn't go wrong with this one. It was tasty, smooth and with just the perfect amount of spice. The horseradish actually floats around in the glass, but doesn't overwhelm. Absolutely hit the spot! Next up, the poutine. Oh, the yummy, piping hot, freshly crisped and crunchy fries under a generous amount of cheese curds that have already begun to melt due to the thick, hot gravy. Need I say more? So decadent! It absolutely hit the spot! Service was slow, but that was expected, and also very worth it! I would suggest reservations if you know when you'll be there. I will definitely return on my next stop! Highly recommend.

Our ship docked early and we had to wait until anything was open. You Breakers, I circled back to eat at which I was excited to do. I had a Starbucks tea in my hand (Trent's/big) pretty full still and was told I would have to drink it if I wanted to come in! Are you kidding me? You turned us out bc of my tea? So 2 paying customers (who wouldn't have ordered alcohol anyway) were not worth it to you. Well you suck. Rupert Canada gets a thumbs down.
