The ole' silver bullet was having some problems of late - constantly alerting me to a coolant problem, idling pretty high, that weird thing where my trunk popper won't work. (Yeah, I know, I'm not sure what's up with that.) The great thing about Auto Know How is that they will troubleshoot with you over the phone to see if it's really necessary for you to come in or to figure out just how major your problem might be. After talking with Laura on the phone for a few minutes, I knew that my coolant issue wasn't urgent but after several months of that persistent dinging alarm going off every time I got behind the wheel, I decided it was time to finally take it in. Turns out I needed some extra stuff done too, which I was happy to have them repair. Considering I've never had major work done on my car and it's 6 years old, I think that's pretty awesome. Particularly since it was less than $300. That's almost a miracle. Be prepared to leave your car overnight, even if you're just coming in for an oil change, because they do get busy these days. I've also found that my final bill tends to be a little less than they have quoted me, which is also awesome. Oh, and my trunk? Apparently I have a valet switch that kept getting locked. Who knew?

I decided to get a second opinion, and that shop not only showed me evidence that the two reported issues didn't exist, but also found bad bearings that this shop said were fine. I also loved how all service recommendations were made via text with a link to approve or reject recommended service. The Jeep is running much smoother than it was and no leaks yay! I couldn't be more unhappy with this situation…read more I asked for my water pump to be diagnosed and my tires to be rotated knowing that they weren't great and also knowing that I needed a new water pump. It cost em $90 to pressure test my water pump and then they didn't rotate my tires they just told me I need new ones... The diagnostics were done for an Audi which I already knew was going to need, and it was going to be roughly around $1,500 to 2000, But they still wanted to do diagnostics anyway. So they just 100% didn't listen to me at all. I was like you know what fine I don't want any of those extra services but I do want my water pump done and the other service, cleaning my valves. The lady I spoke with, she quoted me around $2,200. I set up the appointment and then when I got there the manager was like yeah that's going to be $2,500... I said sorry bud there's no way I'm spending an extra $300... Then went to another shop Was quoted $1,300!!! That's exactly half of what they were trying to charge me!!! They're trying to say that they can't warranty things for 4 years after being replaced... And that's why the cost is so astronomical because it has a 4-year warranty... I call bullshit. I will never ever bring any vehicle to any fine-tuned auto location. you scum are literally stealing people's hard-earned money!! And just to play devil's advocate I called the dealership cuz I assumed they'd be on par or maybe even more than this private company... Dealership quoted me $1,600 never go to fine tune auto!!!! The dealership quoted me $1,000 less than these thieves.. get that through your head folks The dealership was LESS money. I WOULD LOVE FOR THE MANAGER OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO TELL ME WHY HE THINKS THAT I SHOULD PAY $1,300 MORE THAN WHAT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS I SHOULD PAY.
