These guys are awesome!!!…read more I had to get the alternator replaced in my Honda Civic while on vacation in Destin. About 6 months later, my car was giving me similar issues so I called them up to let them know what was going on, but that I was no longer in Destin. Destin Imports located a car shop in my home city, contacted them for me, and arranged for my alternator to be replaced again under the warranty. They followed up daily to ensure that it got done correctly and took care of everything for me. As a young female, it is very very hard to find a car place to trust, but these guys have gone above and beyond!!! I would highly recommend to anyone. They were very professional and I appreciate them so much.

It cost me thousands instead of pushing a button in the glove box. They took apart my car convertible and did not put it together correctly. My top would not close and all it was was a button in the glove box that I didn't know about and yet they took my convertible apart and did not take the time and CARE to see what the problem really was, they put it back together and was very abusive when I addressed the issue. It will cost me $1000 when it was just a BUTTON that needed to be pushed. I HAVE 1000 SCREWS, PIECES THAT ARE FOR THE CONVERTIBLE THROWN IN THE TRUNK AND WITH ABSOLUTE DISREGARD FOR ANY responsibility or for their actions. I would never suggest going to them unless it's for something simple like an oil change or a tire and even then I wouldn't give my business ever ever or suggest them in anyway‼ from what I hear they might be nice to you if you have a lot of money though

If you need a competent, knowledgable, professional and honest auto mechanic, look no further, you…read morefound one here! Very reasonably priced as well. Visiting Destin from Illinois, and our a/c was barely working. It can be very challenging to find a good mechanic whom you can trust, especially when you're away from home in a new city. Based on their excellent on-line reviews, I decided to try C.A.R.S. (Certified Automotive Repair and Service L.L.C.). Gave them a call and spoke with Jeremiah, and asked him if they could the recharge the freon in the system, which would get the a/c working again (at least temporarily until I could bring the car to my regular mechanic back home). He said sure, and that I could bring the car right over. When I got there, he not only recharged the freon, but he found the problem with the a/c system in less than a minute - literally. It was a defective a/c valve at the recharging fitting. Problem solved! While the freon was being recharged, Jeremiah checked and topped off all the fluid levels, and he even popped out the cabin air filter and cleaned that as well. Talk about service. These guys are the real deal, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the level of service they provided. They're good!

I googled a repair shop near me and several businesses in the area came up. I called the first one and was told the soonest I could drop off my vehicle was January 7th (two weeks from today!) The second one told me to come back in the morning and they would be able to check it out. I decided to drive over to Certified Automotive because we were 1/2 mile away. I went by to see if I could get a diagnosis and quote. It is 2 days before Christmas so I was extremely happy that I got the quote, diagnosis and was told they could do the repair now. They completed the repair in just over an hour after the parts were delivered quickly. I certainly expected to be told to come back for the repair. Justin got right on the repair as soon as he had everything he needed. The window is working perfectly. I also received a good warranty on the work. I can highly recommend this business.

As much as we wanted to ignore it and go sit on the beach, it indicated an electrical issue that would have likely left us stranded on our long drive back home. It turns out we made the right move - our alternator was bad. Destin Auto worked us in and got the work done that very day! They were very communicative and incredibly friendly in addition, even starting my car when came to pick it up so it would be cool as we drove off. It was not fun to spend that money, but we would have been in a much worse situation had it not been for Destin Auto. If you're ever in a tough spot with your car at the beach, they're your people!

I took my car to Destin Auto Center (DAC) for a simple repair--a broken gear shift cable clip, an…read moreissue I've had before. Three years ago, the same repair cost me about $250 total. This time, DAC charged over $650--and the experience felt dishonest and exploitative. When my car was towed in, I told the manager exactly what was wrong. Later, they texted me a link to a quote for $325. I called my husband, and we agreed to proceed with DAC rather than tow it to our regular mechanic in Fort Walton Beach. Unfortunately, I didn't screenshot the quote--big mistake. The link didn't allow me to approve it, so I called the manager and told him to fix the car, though I now realize I should have confirmed the exact amount out loud. When I arrived to pick up my car, the bill was $656. I was stunned. 1. They charged a steep diagnostic fee on top of the hourly mechanic fee--even though I had already told them what was wrong. This was never mentioned in the quote or during drop-off. 2. The part, which costs ~$75 was marked up to $196--more than 2.5 times the retail price. I called three local auto parts stores and found the same part for $70-$80. 3. When I raised concerns, the manager insisted it was all in my "quote," but the link they originally sent now showed a "page unavailable" error. He repeatedly mentioned our call was recorded, which didn't matter as I know I agreed to fix the car on the call but the price was never mentioned. He was aggressive and dismissive throughout our conversation. To test their pricing, my husband stopped by a few weeks later and asked for a ballpark estimate for the same repair. They quoted him $400...$250 less than what they charged me. A quote from our regular mechanic would've fixed it for $275. I would never recommend DAC--especially to women. I fully believe I was taken advantage of based on the inflated price and how differently my husband was treated. If you do go there, get a second quote, screenshot everything they send, and be prepared to advocate for yourself. My experience left me feeling deceived and overcharged for a basic repair.
