I was enjoying coming here primarily for pinball until the old man at the bar asked me and my service dog, who was wearing her proper attire to leave because they didn't allow dogs. I informed him that what he was doing was illegal. He took my beer away and asked me to leave and gave me my money back. She's the sweetest dog you've ever met. She is not aggressive in anyway. she was minding her own business the guy just doesn't like dogs. I should call the police or file a complaint with the Chamber of commerce. This place sucks! I brought my nieces and nephew to enjoy the afternoon and our experience was less than stellar. After waiting our turn, Gene turned his attention to a group of people who approached the counter after us. That was disappointing and his excuse was they were patrons from a birthday party. That move was poor customer service on his part and could have easily been addressed with acknowledgement of us and stating he'd be right with us. Our bowling experience was okay, but the kids were disappointed in not having appropriate sized balls they could handle. We had more fun at the arcade, but wanted to play skeeball side by side. As noted in other reviews, this and several other games were out of order. An upgrade in professionalism and the games would help improve the bowling alley. read more

My TIP club decided to have an outing, so we all decided on bowling. This was a great place to enjoy some team building. The shoe rentals were really nice. I found the place to be very clean..and the snack bar served up some really good food. We all enjoyed the place and plan on going back again. read more

I love bowling, but this is about the restaurant! Such a cute little diner, and such incredible food at a great price! I took my girlfriend here and she got the turkey club that was huge! And I got two Tacos that were scrumptious... I noticed a special sign in every day they have some thing for 10 bucks! Wow in Napa Valley?? I was very disappointed with my experience at this bowling alley. One employee in particular made the entire visit uncomfortable for our group. From the moment we arrived, he acted as if we were bothering him just by being there. Every interaction we had with him was met with a rude attitude, dismissive behavior, and unnecessary hostility toward everyone in our party. Customer service plays a huge role in creating a fun and welcoming environment, especially at a place meant for entertainment and group outings. Unfortunately, this employee's behavior completely took away from the experience. We tried to remain respectful throughout the visit, but his mouthy and unprofessional responses made the atmosphere very unpleasant.I hope management takes customer concerns seriously and addresses how guests are treated moving forward. I was unable to get the employees name but he was a younger Latino gentleman at the front desk. read more

Loved the feel of this place, old school bowling except it was string pin. It was my first time bowling string pin, not as horrible as I thought it would be but not my favorite. The front desk guy was great. We did bowl next to some characters but it made for entertainment. read more

2.5 stars rounded up. Nice people, relatively cheap, not too crowded. It's good for families and casual bowling fun, but if you are at all serious about bowling, this is definitely not the place for you. The pins are on strings, which severely restricts pin action/spin. As if trying to pick up a 7-10 split wasn't already hard enough, the way the strings hinder pin movement makes getting the spare that much harder. That being said, those maddening strings will also sometimes get tangled and knock a pin over, when said pin would not have fallen under normal circumstances. Bumpers are also manually added. If you need bumpers, everyone in that lane has to bowl with them. (The alleys I usually bowl at have bumpers that automatically go up and down, depending on which bowler is up.) The sensors that tell you which pins are left after your first ball were also messed up and often wrong. Twice I had a 5-7 split, and both times the little image showed me that I had the 7 and 9 pins left. Oh well. I was there to bowl with my young nieces and nephews and they had fun, which is why I rounded my rating up. read more

For a company party we went to Napa Bowl. The prices are reasonable around $15 per person. They have food is reasonable around $10 per person for burgers, pizza. The beer and wine again very reasonable happy hour prices eight to ten dollars. But the best thing was a bowling. Granted it is a bowling alley -we all had a good time. read more

Had a fun time at Napa bowl but there were some not so fun parts about it. The employees are friendly & attentive but the alleys are extremely outdated, the 3 alleys we reserved were constantly getting stuck which warranted someone having to come out & fix them over & over again. The snack bar is cash only, bummer, & snacks take a while to come out. They do have a vending machine which is a quicker snack option. Their arcade, however, is very modern & well kept. They have some nice pool tables which next time we'll likely play at. Overall, fun place to come bowl but the alley does need a little love & updating. read more

Sadly I was hoping for a 5 star review but sadly and maybe with Covid. Location- easy and plenty of parking Video section- Ample large and assortment of .25 to &1.00 games. Handful were broken but still ample fun. Ticket muncher and prize booth well stocked. Change machine as games take quarters. Bar- decent size and tv for football. Drinks reasonably priced. Check in- very friendly and helpful. We opted for $30 for 1 hr; 2 kids and 1 adult. It was long enough for 1 full game. Food- so badly I craved "bowling alley" food. Usually so so good but blah. Cheese Pizza $12 for whole but sadly worse than Dominoes. They would be better off buying and reselling. Hamburger was ok $8.00 and fries $3.50. Coke machine was down so I craved and went to bar $2.00. The food has so much potential but I guess with Covid and low participation. read more

First time at this bowling place. It has 32 lanes not bad. It's a bit old school & at this time they were only taking cash for beverages & food. The hubby got some beer it was decent and we didn't try the food. It had a huge arcade at the entrance as well which was nice for the kids after bowling. Went to Napa bowl today for a spontaneous date day. Paid for a lane and went to the bar to order 2 drinks. After I ordered drinks and he handed them my way and gave me a price ($10). I went to pay with a debit card. The bartender (older white male) then proceeded to tell me it was a cash only bar as he grabbed a sign from the other side of the bar that showed cash only. Okay, cool - not realizing it was cash only I asked where the atm was. I went and withdrew cash and went back to the bar to pay. He then said it was double the original amount he told me($20). After a back and forth, I gave him the cash. To which he then put it on the side of his register and grabbed a stack of 1's. I then watched him count out and put the original $10 he told me in the register. So what happened to the other $10? Is this how they tip themselves? Seemed like a scam and will not be back to the lounge in this bowling alley. Will definitely let others knows to be cautious of this place. read more

Napa bowl is a lot of fun. Pretty nostalgic of what a bowling alley from the late 80's/early 90's is like, has an arcade area. A lot of fun, the food and bar are cash only which is a little out dated but is a good time if you're in the area. THE PRO SHOP Mark, at the PRO SHOP. He is the reason why I have started coming here since this past April. I needed ALL NEW bowling balls for a tournament that was coming up (Nationals Open in Las Vegas). I was moving up in weight (13 to 14) and my hand span needed to be adjusted to be wider. Mark watched me bowl with my equipment MAPPED OUT my PAP, and set me up with 2 new balls. A spare ball and a reactive ball. Currently in my bag, since then I have purchased 4 balls from him. Here is the list. Motiv Jackel Ghost 300 Global Zen Storm Hyrode (Smells of Blueberries) Brunzwick Tzone in Galaxy Mark is VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. I continue to go there for his knowledge and expertise. He has picked out all the balls in my bag with the exception of 1 (ZEN). He has changed my game. I was consistently a 155 bowler, I am now a 190 bowler. Consistancy in my release/approach and my equipment plus coaching from Mark & my friend Mike has a great deal to do with my improvement. FYI. MARK is an artist. He will not rush one customer to get to the next. It takes an hour for him to drill 1 ball. He does not stalk many balls in the shop. He orders what you want, you give him an idea of how you want the ball to roll, he drills it, you pick it up and he'll fine tune it that day. So don't expect to walk in and leave that same day with a ball. It takes about a week for him to get the ball you've ordered. THE BOWLING CENTER The staff at the bowling center are really nice. I pay, they give me a lane. The lanes are always clean. read more

I would like to see Napa Bowling remodeled and have a better system to rent the lanes online. I live in Sonoma, and it's a 30 min drive; wished is not bad. But in order to rent the lanes, I need to go and do it in person. That's why I wished they had a better system. read more

This place is fun. Total of 32 lanes. If you have a big party of players, you will need to come in and fill out some paperwork with the headcount so they can determine how many lanes will be needed. There's an area with Arcade games and food to order. Food does take a while, takes 20 mins to get nachos with not many orders ahead. I was a bit surprised with this. Not the best, cheese was a little on the cold side and not very much, but it's OK. My expectations for nachos at a bowling alley aren't very high anyway. Many selections on tap and bottle. Jist remember, Both bar and food is cash only . They have lockers available for rent. Plenty of parking outside and on the street. read more

Had such a fun time going bowling with my family last minute. Kids enjoyed themselves and it felt really nice being able to do something more for a change as things start to reopen. Staff was friendly when getting us checked in. They give you the option to rent the whole lane by the hour or pay per game and they have a limit of 5 per lane. We had two lanes side by side; one for the kids and another for us adults. We decided on paying by the hour because of our group size. They have their lanes spaced with a lane in between and staff cleans the area promptly after use. They have a little cafe that offers Mexican food, pizza, nachos, etc. Full bar but CASH ONLY. We were happy with our experience and plan to return. read more

There is not much recreational things to do in Napa. Luckily, the bowling alley is a great place to go take your friends and family. The guys up front are always cracking jokes (but with a serious face. Now come to think of it, not sure if they were jokes or not, LOL). Prices are pretty average and they always have specials at least 3 days in the week. Came here with my husband and our grown daughter and her husband today ! We had such a blast ! The gentleman that took care of us giving us a lane and our shoes was a sweetheart ! He had such a fantastic attitude ! We played three games and it was totally reasonably priced ! The bowling alley was immaculate as was the restrooms ! Now for the bad experience we had ! We did have a really grumpy guy working at the restaurant but I'm not going to punish the bowling alley for his crap attitude ! He just wasn't interested doing his job with a good attitude! We walked away and just went to the vending machine! My family and friends always look forward to bowling at Napa lanes although a Bowlero center is closer to where they live. Some, including myself, have joined league because the environment at Napa gave us the confidence to move forward. Jose, Ricky, Steve, Bob, Tom, and Mark (Thee Best Pro Shop operator with decades of experience. Even operators from different areas admire Mark's work (they told me themselves) are the best team around. Other bowling lanes will have you bowl in darkness, (even during the day). With TV monitors reflecting off the lanes to impair your focus. Not the environment for competitive bowlers. BTW, I live closer to that Bowlero than my friends. read more

This review is specifically for Mark at the pro shop. We were looking for a local shop with someone who would take care of us and drill our new balls. Mark definitely took care of us and was VERY knowledgeable. He's an EXPERT in what he does. He did not rush us and answered all our questions. After we had our balls drilled, we immediately went to the lanes and saw results in our bowl. Both thumb holes in our balls felt a bit tight while bowling and Mark happily drilled it to perfection. Mark worked efficiently to finish the drilling. DEFINITELY KEEP THIS MAN AT YOUR SHOP because he takes care of his customers well. We will be back at Napa Bowl soon because of Mark. So glad this place was open. Only bowling ally I could find that was open in the whole Sacramento-Bay Area. It wasn't crowded and temperature checks are done when you first arrive. Bowling was fun. The arcade was fun, it had 4 air hockey tables, 2 basket ball, ski ball, and other fun games. There's a cocktail lounge with a bar and pool tables and some more arcade games as well as a cafe with pizza and burgers. read more

This review is for Mark at Dorn Niendorfs Pro shop located inside Napa Bowl. I appreciate the very fast response time from Mark when I had a recent issue with my bowling ball. I contacted mark from the shops online web and left a message and within the hour Mark contacted me and had acknowledged my issue and had come up with a couple solutions. By the next day Mark called me and said he found what I need. With this type of service I felt comfortable spending my money with Mark and ended up buying a new ball in which Mark worked precisely and stayed late to complete the drilling etc... on the new ball.
