First visit and always wanted to try this spot for their Ramen. Walked in without a reservation on a Friday early evening no wait time. They have a spacious dining area with tables and a bar. They menu, so much to choose so we started with their Napa Noodle house salad which was a huge portion enough for 2 to share nice tasty salad. Entree opt for the Kalbi short rib plate which I thought was kinda pricey for couple of pieces of kalbi which was very good though a huge scoop of rice, kimchi and salad. Ramen YES!!!! First time here and it was ok. My partner had the Iwanuma Veggie ramen and I had the Dan Dan Noodles. We had a couple of drinks from the full bar and some sake. We went there on a Monday night and the place was packed so we dined at the counter. The rice was separated from the rest of the bowl and I do wish that it was under the Poke. I'm not sure why they do this but I think it would be less of a mess if it was fully prepared versus having to prepare myself and try to make room for the rice. The pork was nice and crispy and the sauce added a nice sweetness. We also ordered the lumpia ($11.95 for four pieces). The lumpia was good. Very meaty. For my main I ordered the California poke with ahi tuna and imitation crab meat. I also ordered, for an extra charge, a crispy noodle topping, which was well worth it. I hate to write negative reviews but here we are. This is my second visit to Napa Noodle, the first time my visit was just ok. I thought I would give it another try. I ordered the Pho Ga last time and today ordered the Tokyo ramen. My husband ordered the KFC. We both walked away saying, "wow, that was not good". The ramen lacked flavor and depth. I tried to doctored my ramen with chili oil, samba, and sriracha however it didn't work. I don't recommend this place I also ordered a side of bok choy. It was delicious. This time made a point to come and try a bowl of noodles. Loved that they featured Asian dishes from different cultures/cuisines- very cool idea! Orders Lumpia to start- a little more meaty than I'm used to. It resembled more of an eggroll style to me as they were rather thick- still very good. We wanted to split the Dan Dan noodles because it has a soup base, and the waiter kindly offered to split it into bowls (picture is only half of the normal portion!). If you're an avid Asian food lover, this place will just disappoint you. The Singaporean noodle was just salty and you get the slightest curry taste. The noodles I ordered, the roasted duck noodles soup I ordered was not I was expecting. The meat tasted like turkey meats that was already sitting in the kitchen for hours and hours. No fatty duck like a real roasted duck noodles you'd get from a legit Chinese restaurant. The papaya salad? Oh my! Napa Noodles has something for everyone, but those dishes are not uniformly successful. My family and I had lunch here and started with the duck bao, and in my opinion, that was the best bite of the meal. The buns were generously stuffed with duck, pickles, and topped with a yuzu kosho verde sauce. I definitely recommend! We also got vegetable gyoza, which were fine, but honestly comparable to what I'd buy at the store and cook at home. For our entrees, we got the Iwanuma Veggie Ramen (kombu shiitake broth, egg noodles, veggies, pickled bamboo shoots, scallions, and a soft boiled egg), the Dan Dan Noodles (chicken broth, egg noodles, ground pork with mushrooms, spinach, bean sprouts, scallions, and sichuan chili oil), and the Citrus Albacore Poke (albacore tuna, avocado, green onion, mango, Japanese 7 spice, cilantro, jalapeno, ponzu sauce, and nori furikake). All these were pretty good, but not standouts. The Dan Dan Noodles, which I usually love for the spice, were quite mild. The Poke had good flavor, but more mango than fish. The heat dome is sitting over the West. And over California. That's the premise. Unprecedented heat! NorCal under the Heat Dome got us all in a lockdown scorcher! Temps got to 111F in the San Francisco Bay, 116F up North, 118F Sacramento valley! That day, Monday, 'only' 97 in LA the LaLa land! Baking! Hope power stays On! Drove over the Golden Gate Bridge to escape the Silicon Valley heat & ironically got into a hotter territory. Corte Madera, Petaluma, Sonoma, all towns looked deserted, and I ended up in Napa, at Napa Noodles downtown spot. Walked in & was promptly welcomed & offered any available seat. Chosen the bar. Sparkly for the holiday! Brut Prestige is Mumm Napa's signature sparkling wine. Elegant & relaxed wine that earns sparkling accolades. A complex assemblage of primarily Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. Excellent food wine. Refreshing acidity. Medium-bodied. It opens with layered white blossom aromas, followed by creamy vanilla, citrus, stone fruit and melon. Rich elegant mousse finish. Crisp! Twice the retail nowadays is fair. Side note, some places triple the retail price and it goes against my grain. So I'm Okay with a $36 bottle of Napa champagne that's $18 at the grocery store.. you get served, right? Ramens, soups, noodles, rice plates with proteins, and more, a little bit of everything is on the menu. Chatted with Ali to find out what's spicy, of course. Korean Kimchi Jjigae Soup hit the spot. And that's where we also hit an hour and a half hiccup. First half hour, maybe 40 mins, run up pretty fast, with a glass of bubbly after the glass. Hanging out with Ali and Ari was fun, too! And then I realized, hungry as hell, no food is coming, not even a cucumber salad, while everyone else who's orders were keyed in 40 mins past mine, are eating.. and eating.. and settling their checks.. singular patrons at the bar, as well as tables with larger sized parties. Asked Ali to check with the kitchen & it did seem as though my order was pushed out somehow, or forgotten all together. I came on a Thursday at roughly 630PM and there were a few tables available inside and was seated right away. It was nice to see they had an outdoor area to eat as well. They have a menu that covers various popular dishes from different Asian ethnicities. Was craving a soup based meal because it was relatively chilly and went for the Tokyo Ramen. We ordered gyoza which was like eikos next door very small portion for the price. Honestly was not impressed with the tokyo ramen bowl i got and my wife's teriyaki plate was pretty mediocre as well. Dried out chicken super salty. Some white rice pickled salad all for $19.25 ooof. The egg i got in my ramen bowl was sort of chewy. Broth and subpar noodles some fried pork had a little crisp but the whole bowl was not amazing whatsoever. Paid over $65 with tip for Junk. Not planning a comeback.
