It has that classic, old-school authentic Chinese restaurant vibe -- very 90's feel, simple and traditional inside. Nothing trendy or modern, just a solid neighborhood-style spot that focuses on good food. Portions were generous for two people, and the prices were super affordable (especially for Napa!). Definitely a great place to refuel without breaking the bank. Parking is a bit limited -- there's some in the back or you may have to find street parking -- but it's manageable. The food is good if you know what to order. We like the Mushu chicken wrap and any of the wonton soups. These are fail proof. We admittedly have not tried their dim sum because we are wary of places that carry too many specialty items. We usually go to a dim sum restaurant if we want dim sum. So we cannot comment on the dim sum. Sometimes some of the rotating cooks like to add sugar to the sauces so if you're diabetic please beware. We have diabetics in our family and our glucose readings shot through the roof after eating some of their dishes with sauce. This however does not happen every time. "Comfort Food When I Needed It Most" I wasn't feeling my best, and one of my best friends came through by ordering me a comforting delivery from Jade Garden. She knows my go-to when I'm feeling under the weather: wonton soup. While I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had, it definitely hit the spot when I needed something warm, simple, and soothing. The broth could've used a little more depth and flavor it leaned on the mild side but the inclusion of bok choy was a lovely surprise and gave it that wholesome, homey feel. It wasn't overly salty or heavy, which made it a perfect recovery meal. I also tried the chow mein, and while it wasn't life-changing, it was satisfying and solid. The kind of food that doesn't necessarily make your taste buds sing but feels like a warm hug when you need one. Would I crave it on a random Tuesday night? Maybe not. But if I'm ever feeling under the weather again and need something cozy and reliable, I'd absolutely order from Jade Garden again. This Chinese food restaurant is tucked in with several other restaurants in the area next to hwy 29. It does not look like much from the outside, but it does have a nice clean interior. They definitely do a fair amount of to go business, but we decided to dine in. They do have a reasonably priced lunch menu, but they do have three family dinner choices, which can save you some money. We decided on the beef and broccoli, fried vegetable rice, and tofu dinners. The broccoli was definitely fresh and cooked al dente. Then it went downhill, the tofu was unpleasantly hard and rubbery which we left uneaten. We did point it out, but it was not removed from the bill. I love hot and sour soup, but theirs is not the best. The vegetable fried rice was just OK. I thought it was odd that they would just give you a fork without a knife and one small napkin. We asked for some chili sauce because it needed a little spice. Not the best, but not the worst Chinese I've ever had. Overall, for almost $50 for 2 with no drinks or tip, seems overpriced and not such a great value. Service was somewhat attentive. The Sesame Chicken is a popular dishes and definitely worth ordering because the sauce was incredible. Jade Garden is our new go-to spot for Chinese food in Napa. I love that they offer dim sum all day, except for between 2:30 and 4:30. We ordered the shrimp and crab dumplings, barbecue pork bun and the custard buns off of the dim sum menu. All were delicious! We also split a large wonton soup, barbecue pork fried rice and mushu shrimp. It was a lot of food and we had two days worth of leftovers, but it was great getting to try a variety of items. The wonton soup was honestly a surprise favorite. 10/10. The broth was flavorful without being too salty and the wontons were delicious! If I were coming here and ordering just for one meal (and no leftovers), I'd probably be full with just the soup and a few dim sum items. The pricing is also super reasonable. read more

Ordered Delivery thru Grubhub. The food was terrible! It arrived on time and was at the proper temperature but that's all the positive I can say about this order. The fried chicken wings were absolutely the worst we have ever had . . . completely soggy . . . no crunch at all . . . and tons of coating which was doughy and inedible. The shrimp appetizer would have been OK if it had had more shrimp. Again way too much coating. Our entree, the house chowmein, had no flavor. It was just a bunch of noodles in a tasteless sauce. Did have substantial bits of various meat in it, but the meat was so tasteless we couldn't differentiate between the chicken and the pork. We figured out that the darker bits were the beef. Even the 3 small shrimp had no shrimp flavor. I would not recommend this place to anyone. To call the food mediocre would be an undeserved complement. Once again, another so-so Chinese restaurant in Napa. Like just about all the other Chinese restaurants in Napa, the food is not terrible. By which I mean it's not terribly bad, but it's also not terribly good. We had tried this restaurant before and found it to be pretty average. Since it was under new ownership, we decided to try it again. We ordered takeout. Egg rolls, potstickers, Mongolian Beef, Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce, Kung Pao Prawns, and a chicken dish. Plus rice, which was probably the best thing we ordered. I had been warned that a lot of the sauces were sweet. Ok, if I order Orange Chicken or Lemon Chicken or Sweet and Sour Pork, I expect a little sweetness. I don't expect the Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce to be sweet. Especially when I asked and was told it's not sweet. The other three dishes were ok. I would say at the level of a shopping mall food court. In Ohio. The egg rolls were also ok. The potstickers were not great: the dough was too thick. The service was pleasant. The bill, without any drinks and before a tip, came to just under $100. Definitely not worth the price.
