We had a great dinner at Napkins with a party of six and were seated outside on the patio. I was a little disappointed by the limited selection of red wines available by the glass, especially since I really wanted a glass with dinner. They did have several nice bottles to choose from, though. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and took great care of our table. We started with the pastry appetizer and the mushroom arancini balls. Both were good, but neither was anything that completely blew us away. My husband and I both ordered the halibut, and it was fantastic. The portions were generous, the fish was incredibly flavorful, and we both absolutely loved it. Everyone else at our table was also very pleased with their meals. The only unpleasant part of the evening was not really the restaurant's fault. The people seated next to us kept putting their small dogs on the table and allowing them to eat off their plates and lick the table. I have dogs and fully support bringing them along to dog-friendly restaurants, but that felt very unsanitary. I do think someone from the restaurant should have asked them to stop, although I'll give the staff the benefit of the doubt that they may not have seen it. Overall, we had a really great experience and would definitely recommend Napkins. I'd give it a solid 4.5 stars! read more

He told us about the specials and I took him up on the special: shrimp ravioli in lobster sauce. Sadly, it was very bland and lacked the "lobster" flavor in the thick sauce. The drinks were awesome. Totally recommend the drinks: Midnight in Italy and Fume Midnight in Italy was basically a very well served Manhattan. But it was gloriously served. Giant cube ice cube, really lovely rye whiskey and the perfect orange garnish that added to the senses as you sipped Fume arrived in a light fixture like glass box that you open to retrieve your drink. It's filled with smoke to add to the drink's experience. My hands smelled like smoke hours after the dinner. The drink was tasty. The grilled pineapple was tasty. But it was more showy than tasty. Baker brie was insanely delish. It was the best baked Brie I had. Perfectly balanced with the honey and pistachio. The iceberg wedge salad was as you would've expected. We are so glad to find this place at last minute on a Friday in Napa! I'm surprised it's not busy because the food is amazing!! I highly recommend the halibut I got. The fish is tender and fresh. It even came with a grilled prawn. What I even love more is the side dishes which is charred cauliflower, asparagus and potatoes. The citrus habanero chicken is one of the best dishes I've ever had!!! The chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly, the skin had amazing texture, the portion size was generous, and both the potatoes and vegetables compliment the chicken really well. Our server asked the chef and they were able to make it for me. I ate the ENTIRE dish. I almost licked the plate clean. It was so juicy and cooked to perfection. I want to go back already. I had a lovely time at Napkins Bar and Grill. We had planned to eat a different neighboring establishment but the wait was too long. Thankfully, Napkins could fit the 4 of us in at the bar. The bartender helping us was amazing. Just so personable and he answered all of our questions, all while training a new bartender. A real professional. I'm vegetarian (mostly) and the bartender suggested the vegetable wellington to me and that dish BLEW MY MIND. I wish I were in Napa right now so that I could eat it again. It was all veggies, artfully assembled, and surprisingly delicious! My 3 friend also loved their food. Unfortunately I was so focused on my food that I have no idea what they ate or drank. Thanks to the Napa happy hour website I was tuned into the fact that this place has a wonderful happy hour. It was within walking distance of my hotel. They have quite a large bar. When I first sat down I was only provided the dinner menu, but soon after asking about happy hour I was given the secret and special menu. I got the cucumber jalapeño margarita along with a Caesar salad and an order of calamari. I was delighted when it arrived in the calamari also included crispy green beans and a tasty Sriracha aïoli. The bartender was very friendly. The playlist of music was amazing; an eclectic and funky mix of 70s and 80s. If you are in Napa, this is worthy of a visit. Underrated restaurant in downtown Napa that I'm so glad we tried! With a reservation, we had hoped to get seated indoors but we were seated outside. Thankfully, the weather wasn't too cold but when it got breezy, staff was quick to turn on the heating lamps at request. The ambiance was wonderful for us for a casual intimidate-ish dinner. Definitely not upscale but also not underwhelming. Really depends on what you're looking for but it was perfect for us. Limited menu but entrees were executed perfectly, in my opinion. The braised pork was extremely tender and my husband enjoyed his steak! The chocolate cake was extremely decadent and I was overstuffed after that. But definitely would order it again. I docked a star because I felt service could have been a bit better but I'm not sure if it was because we were seated outside. It's across the street from the river. It's a classy, well appointed bar and dining setup. Service was prompt and fast. I had the Brisket Sandwich with fries and Wifey had the special Pasta which consisted of beef, wide pasta noodles in a light sauce. My shredded brisket was tender but not very flavorful, the shoestring fries however were excellent. The pasta was okay. It was okay and value likewise. While in downtown Napa, we stumbled upon this delightful place last minute while searching for a light dinner. Without a reservation, we were able to get waitlisted for an hour. The front staff and servers were very kind. While waiting to be seated (one hour wait), we were given water and also allowed to sit at the bar. The ambience is cozy and inviting. Dimmed lighting, definitely good for a quick bite while catching up and also good for groups. Wonderful customer service! The food was very good. We had ordered a few items to share -- Crab cakes, side order of steak and side of fries, and Habañero Chicken. Fulfilling and also delicious. It's definitely something to try if you're in downtown Napa. I look forward to trying other items on the menu during my next visit. My wife and I were strolling on Main Street in Napa checking out all the restaurants. We walked into the Napkins and they were not quite open. A gentleman was cleaning the area in in the patio and he went inside to get the sidewalk menu for me. We took a look and said we would probably come back the next day. So we went the next day for happy hour with some friends. Cengis, the owner came by and I did not know he was the one cleaning the patio the day earlier. Happy hour is 3 to 6 pm every day and it's excellent. Dishes are pretty much the same size as their dinner entrees. We had calamari, shrimp linguine, and burrata cheese with a toasted baguette. All were excellent. Happy hour is only served at the bar and our bartender Rachel was an excellent server as well. Very nice, clean bar and restaurant! Cengis even made us a couple of great drinks and even shared his recipes. A lady adjacent to us said their hamburger was the best in Napa and only $15 with fries! I will return tomorrow to see if she was telling me the truth! I highly recommend Napkins for happy hour! The dining area was full when left after happy hour ended so I am sure dinner is great as well! read more

my group got lucky and we were able to snatch up a last minute reservation for 6 of us right after the christmas parade! we got a table outside, but the heaters warmed us up quickly! i forgot to take a picture of all the food, but i did get a pic of my drink, the lychee martini and it was deliciousssss. tasted exactly like lychee and not overbearingly sweet at all. my husband, daughter, and i shared the churrasco steak, bowl of clam chowder, and macaroni and cheese. everything was yummerzzzzz!! the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the chimmichurri (don't know if i spelled that right lol) was the perfect topping. i usually feel like clam chowders do not have enough clams in them but this one was abundant in clams and had a great flavor! we had a great experience and can't wait to be back to try more :) read more

We made a reservation. And as soon as we got here, we sat down and it was very quick. We ordered the shrimp linguine, the chicken, and the seafood plate. The chicken is one of the best things ever. The shrimp in the seafood plate was very far, but other than that the seafood plate was good. Went to Napkins with family for the very first time. The food was delicious! Especially the Calamari & String Beans. No one in our party had a single complaint about their food. Samantha took excellent care of us and shared her favorite entrees/recommendations. We decided on the halibut and the short rib. INcredible! The halibut had the perfect sear with a beautiful, tangy lemony finish and paired with cauliflower hash.
