My finance and I had a date night in Napa recently. We were craving Asian food and opted for Thai. I remember trying a few items from this place when they had a booth at Bottlerock a few years ago. I was pretty excited to visit the actual restaurant for this date. They are very small inside and don't appear to have air-conditioning so it was warm, however, service never faltered. If you are craving for Thai, hungry or have a big appetite, Osha Thai will fill you up. For a Friday night it was oddly quiet and not busy, even with our reservation. Papaya salad and the crispy whole calamari are must try apps. Craving for something to warm you up or at least comforting and traditional, then try the Tom Yum Hot Pot. I may have had over expectations for the Khao Soi, the curry soup was extra creamy, more on the coconut milk flavor, not much short ribs (didn't even give the bone like other pictures) and wished if had a little kick to compensate the creaminess. Stopped in for a solo birthday lunch for a quick bite in downtown Napa. Soon as you hit the door you get swept in by the aroma of all their delicious dishes. Went here on a Friday afternoon and got the business lunch. It was amazing. Flavorful and yummy as usual. Have been to OSHA Thai San Francisco many times and this Napa one was great too. Our table ordered the pad Thai, pad see ew, calamari, larb, mango sticky rice, Thai tea, yellow curry, pineapple fried rice, and chicken wings. Even the picky eaters at the table ate everything. The calamari is a whole squid and wasn't cut up, so when you cut it up the breading falls off. 2 bathrooms so when the place is full a line starts to form for the bathrooms. The chicken was cooked well. I got medium spicy and it wasn't spicy at all so I wish I ordered hot. * Royal pad Thai: This was definitely on the sweeter side from other pad Thais I've tried and flavor was decent. * Thai tea: This tasted watered down and my friends thought so as well. For dessert, we ate Thai Tea French Toast with Acmes "Challah" bread Thai tea style French toast, fresh seasonal berries, Thai tea cream, and coconut ice cream - Very good! We appreciated that it was dog-friendly (we sat outside in front of the store with an umbrella over us to keep us out of the sun). We were seated right away. For drinks we ordered the mango margarita, purple lemonade, and Thai tea. I ordered the purple lemonade, and unfortunately it was too watered down. So I did not enjoy it too much. For starters, we ordered the roti canai and salmon avocado rolls. The roti canai had flaky roti with a yummy peanut curry sauce. The salmon avocado rolls were okay, but did not stand out like the roti canai. For entrees, we did chose the papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, panang curry, and garlic and ginger pork. We really enjoyed the papaya salad, fried rice, and panang curry! All 3 were delicious. But what stood out to me was that the beef in the panang curry was sooo tender. The garlic and ginger pork missed the mark for me. It was okay in flavor, but compared to our other dishes, it did not stand out. Overall, Osha Thai had some stand out dishes! I had the pleasure of experiencing Osha Thai at Bottle Rock this year and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered crispy spring rolls and short ribs with curry noodles. The servings were packed with flavor! The short ribs were served with traditional egg noodle and a crispy noodle. The texture combination was a perfect match with the creamy curry and tender short ribs. The crispy egg rolls were filled with glass noodles and vegetables, along with a sweet chilli sauce. We came in to Osha Thai on Friday evening for a family dinner. My sister-in-law ordered us the fresh spring rolls with prawns, Chiang mai lettuce wrap, Bangkok roti, and a fried pork belly noodle dish from the special with rice noodle. Everything was so delicious but the meal had a few highlights for me. The lettuce wrap was packed with both flavor and heat (a touch too spicy for me, but no one else at the table...) but VERY good! The Bangkok roti with the green curry sauce drizzled on it was a savory perfection. While I'm not a big pork eater, the fried pork belly dish was unexpectedly a fan favorite. The pork belly had a perfectly crusted outer layer and was so flavorful with every bite. This place will definitely be added to my list of places to return. My wife and I were visiting the area and we were starving! Thai came up as the choice for the evening, and Osha Thai was highly recommended. Walking in, I was a tad bit underdressed. I probably should have followed my wife's lead on wardrobe. Thankfully, there isn't a strict dress code. The restaurant is nestled between a row of other restaurants on that block- if you blink you will miss it. The decor is a blend of tradition with a modern twist. The aroma of food is hinted in the air but it does not over power the restaurant. Reservations seem to be encouraged, and thank God for my wife getting us that reservation because this place is very well known. We were seated at our table, and were greeted with friendly service. We ordered what we would usually order: a curry plate, a noodle plate, and a few sides. I have been to a few Thai joints in my lifetime and this one has to be in the top five of the best I have ever had. We started off with two new items they had: triangle tofu and a purple lemonade. The lemonade was nice, but not something that I would order again - it wasn't that it was bad, it was simply that I was looking for something that had a little more lemon to it. The drink was beautifully put together, however it may fit someone that appreciates a lighter taste of lemon. The triangle tofu was amazing! It was hot, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside and the sauce that it was served with was perfect. This was the first time that I had seen cucumber used as a part of a side dish and I love that it balances out everything. My wife had their jasmine tea and I will definitely get THAT next time. We began with the yellow curry - WOW! I had never tasted it so ALIVE before. It had a wonderful sweetness that was present but subtle, and it sat well with the savory flavor. Rice was fluffy and fragrant and when you put the curry and rice together, it took me out of this world. I could have ended with that and been okay. While we were still working on that, we were served the pad see ew and again - WOW. It was a lot more oily than I am used to, but here's how you know this restaurant is LEGIT: each of the flat noodles is coated in the sauce, and none of the noodles stuck to uncooked parts of the noodle. All the noodles were cooked through with a good amount of sauce. It was so good, that you almost don't realize you're eating them until you look down at the plate and realize they're 1/2 way gone. After that, we had a menu item listed only as "mushrooms". We love mushrooms so we ordered it. They tasted good up until I had a hard time eating them because of the amount of spice that was on it. Yes, I eat a lot of Thai food but I usually ask them to make it mild because if you're like me, I cannot handle spice. However, my wife loves spicy food and she all the mushrooms with the pad see ew. I don't know that I have ever smiled so much while eating a restaurant I have never tried, but ya boy was cheesin'! All in all, I give this restaurant 5 stars for a great all around service with AMAZING food. If you made it this far and wonder if I know what I'm talking about, go ahead and check the specs, I LOVE Thai food and this the best I have ever had. I was strolling through Napa and decided to get some Thai food. I looked at reviews of a few places in the area and decided that I would try Oshha Thai. The atmosphere is beautiful and very peaceful. I wanted to sit and read my book while I ate, so it was perfect. I ordered Lychee Tea to start. It was just the right amount of sweet and refreshing, but it was also garnished impeccably. I ordered the business lunch which was a smaller portion of Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mow) and fresh egg rolls. It was the perfect lunch. I even had food left over. The food server was great and very sweet. I would definitely come back here. I highly recommend bringing a big group of people, so that you can try many different dishes. Ended my Bridal Shower Day here & I was starving by the time we got here. Our reservations weren't for another hour but my aunt worked her magic & they were able to immediately accommodate us. This restaurant is super small, like maybe 25-30 people tops can fit in this restaurant and we had 16 people in our party sooooo, you can guess how cramped we were especially since the one big party booth/section they had was still occupied (I am guessing this would have been our original booth if we waited another hour). The staff was super friendly & made sure that we were attended to. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea to start & it was super yums. It came in a fancy glass - whenever something comes in a fancy glass/dish - it tends to taste better. Just me? Okay. lol. I ordered a Tofu Royal Pad Thai & again, the presentation was so pretty! And the presentation matched how delicious it was. Everything tasted great, especially the fried rice. The steak was pricey and we expected a bigger portion, but overall it was cooked well and had tons of flavor. Traveling all the way from the bay to be with family we decided to come to this spot due to convenience of location. I ordered "spicy" eggplant with no spice other than hella garlic and over cooked eggplant. Tofu was fine. When I pay $70 dollars for a dinner order I have some basic expectations. Number 1: if the dish says spicy I expect some. Number 2: if I order egg rolls and they break teeth cause they are too fired, we have a problem.
