I walked into this pawn shop ready to spend real money--cash in hand, serious about buying. Instead, I was met with sarcasm, rudeness, and zero interest in helping a paying customer. The staff acted like I was bothering them by even being there. I asked to see a few items and was brushed off with, "Just go look online." Really? I came in person for a reason--to see things up close and support a local business. What a joke. If you're hoping for even the slightest bit of decent customer service, look elsewhere. My wife and I stopped in to check out some jewelry and Tom and Gerson cordially greeted us. I needed a wedding band, because I had recently lost a little weight and my ring was too lose. Tom had a band and amazingly enough it fit perfectly. The price was fair and I left a happy guy. There also was a nice ladies white gold traditional round solitaire in the case that coincidentally fit my wife's slender finger perfectly as well. Gerson was able to produce all the appropriate paperwork for this 1/2 karat Leo diamond, and Tom mentioned that there was some flexibility on the price. We will definitely consider making a purchase in the future because of their professional and caring attentiveness. Turns out, it's actually a pretty cool pawn shop that sells real and new Dolce & Gabbana and Prada sunglasses**, along with real true blue Louis Vuitton bags** for much less than retail amongst lots of cool guitars, golf sets, and many other dusty finds. **Note- there isn't a huge selection, but it exists. Now, I personally feel weird about buying someone else's sh*t so I always shop regular retail, preferably Nordstrom... but if you're on a budgie (which I totally should be), this is great place to check out for a few designer goods at a fraction of the price. Actually, until today I had never gone into a pawn shop before. Something about them just seems seedy or like the thing I'd be buying was pawned for drug money or cock fighting or lord only knows what, but the owners of Naperville Jewelry and Loan were super clean cut, handsome, and full of character. So, what brought me in today? Rumor has it that Naperville Jewelry and Loan is to be featured on a new show for TLC (ala Pawn Stars on the History channel)- AWESOME! I heard there was 'casting' just a few doors down but unfortunately for me, I'm much closer to being on a reality show ala 'Hoarders' than anything with the word 'Star' in the title. Le sigh. Tucked away in a tiny strip mall between the gas station and some offices built into old houses on Ogden, is a really cool little shop. They have a little bit of everything: glassware, sports memorabilia, jewelry, toys, tv's, musical instruments, books, dvd's for cheap, furniture, etc. I love it! I could do all my Christmas shopping here! My only real complaint about this place is the hours. They close before I get off work, so it's taken me months to be able to go in when they're open. If you are in DuPage, Western Cook, Northern Will, eastern Kane or Kendall COs & you want a GOOD AND HONEST pawn dealer, THIS IS THE ONE PLACE TO STOP!!! Period! I've dealt with them on several occasions. Do NOT waste your time with ANYONE else. It's very simple. I have dealt mostly with Shadow & Tom. You won't find a group of straight shooters any better than them. They will look up the item you bring in, they will SHOW you what the items has sold for in other venues (e.g, eBay among others). Then you get the deal/offer. I've dealt with them a few times & NEVER felt like I was being taken advantage of. I've observed them working with other customer as well and NONE of them were taken advantage of as well. No games, garbage or wasting of time with these guys. You wil be treated fairly & respectfully without the stupid low ball attempts. You need to sell something, THIS is the ONLY pawn dealer I would suggest. I had gone to other places for laughs just to see what they would do. What they did in just under 5 minutes, other places took 10-15 minutes only to find I was getting low balled. I was in there a while ago... no huge transactions. Yes, I stopped by because this is where Pawn Queens was filmed. I do shop resale and pawn semi frequently and they're just down the street so... I figured what the hell. The guys were nice, but the two girls weren't there. I went back a week later and still no girls anywhere. I'm sure they exist but I was suspicious that they're "ownership" was played up for the TLC female angle. Also played up was the "Pawn Shop for Women" angle as 99% of it looked like any other pawn shop with the same assortnment of stuff. I bought a Smallville season in a box DVD and discovered when I got home it was missing disc 6, the last disc! I would have expected them to notice this when they bought it. Doesn't bode well for how they inspect the incoming merchandise. I went back, thought I'd give it a second chance (again no pawn "queens") and found another box set missing a disc. I showed it to the manager and told him what I will write here... DVD's of course are not the bread and butter of a pawn shop, but if you can't notice missing discs, then how do I trust them to notice significant things about bigger more expensive items to buy them? I told him I accepted the fact that I was SOL on the first set but that I would be iffy on recommending them. On a side note, I just visited American Jewelry and Loan (home of Hardcore Pawn) and had a similar experience with a blu ray. I did tell the guy there about it and deducted a star from their rating, too, though their operation was much larger and seemed more on the ball.) But they had a nice staff, some interesting quirky items, and honestly the two girls were annoying on the short lived show, so maybe better that they weren't there??? Especially if they see that you are young and dont know much (this was the case when i was selling some items there). You will be much better off selling your items on a website such as LetGo or even Ebay, places where you will get your real worth for the item. Dont sell it to these guys for $20, and then see them selling it later on for $120. When they told you "ohh man we could only pay 20 dollars max for that sir, everything online is only selling for 30 we cannot buy your item for any more..." what a load of bullshit read more

Dirty players at this store. They made a deal with me before I got there, then changed the deal completely when I arrived. One part of the deal was that I needed a hdmi ready hd tv. I recommend this establishment to everyone! I was in need to obtain a cash loan to help my sister and I randomly chosen this pawn shop after quick local search. I was nicely surprised how they are so focus on a customer needs. I made a quick call before visiting them and I spoke to Tom who made me fill convertible during our phone conversation and after the visit at their shop I was astonished how quickly and professionally the transaction took place. They are very discreet and protect your identity. I noticed also during my visit that they sell designer bags, wallets, itc. So after returning home I immediately cleaned up my closet of designer items I don't use or will not have much use of it and I decided to return to the shop to see what can I get for it. In this time and day we always need extra spear change so I was so excited been given this opportunity. I was little scared that I will most likely not be able to gain much for what I paid for.
