Would give 0 stars if that was possible. I used Naperville Pool and Spa since they were the preferred vendor of my home warranty company and I had an issue with my heater. They resolved the initial heater issue with no problems and it was a pretty good experience. That was the last positive thing I'll say in this review. I then contracted with them to "close" my pool for the season last October. They appeared to do a good job and as a new pool owner, I didn't know any differently. When my normal pool company opened the pool this year, the pool was disgusting. I don't think they used any chemicals aside from the 3 gallons of chrlorine I provided. They must've winterized the pool properly since no internal pipes burst, however they failed to drain my chlorinator which froze over the winter and is now rendered useless. My normal pool service company told me the pool looked as if no chemicals were used in closing, but my receipt says that there were (likely only the ones I provided). So now my pool looks like a dirty lake and my chlorinator is broken. I contacted the company and spoke with a woman and told her exactly what happened. She said she would contact the owner and get back to me. I wasn't asking for much, just reimbursement for the 8 cases of chlorine I had to buy to get the pool chemistry back in line (~$100) and to replace my chlorinator which was broken because they didn't drain it in the fall (~$75). I never heard back from the owner. I tried calling again a month later and spoke with the same woman who said she would pass my message along to the owner. Still no response. Needless to say, the company doesn't seem to care about quality or customer service, so please avoid them if you have other options. All I was asking for was an admission of wrong doing and to be reimbursed for the materials needed due to their poor service. I hope this review helps. I know their aren't a ton of pool companies in the Western Suburbs, but please stay away from this one! A very dissatisfied former customer. Jeff Picture one - what the pool looked like a immediately after opening. Picture two - my broken chlorinator which needed to be replaced. Picture three - My pool after a week of heavy chlorine treatment ~5 cases. Picture four - How my pool normally looks.

If you enjoy being taken advantage of, spoken down to, and for your pool equipment to be serviced…read moreby men not qualified to do so, then these are your guys! Over the summer, Adams pools charged me large amounts for troubleshooting a disposable part of my pool filtration system. I contacted Adams pools because my salt generator wasn't working. Rich spent 4 months trying to get my salt generator to work only to tell me that he contacted the Pentair representative and learned the part had expired. At no point did Rich acknowledge he didn't know anything about Pentair products (even though it's one of the largest pool equipment manufacturers), nor did he research them. At the very least, he should have been upfront and said he didn't know what he was doing and that there would be an expensive learning curve. Rich refuses to consider even a partial refund for the unnecessary troubleshooting and instead states he's not an expert on different pool systems. This is ironic, since that's what I hired him for. During our last phone call, he hung up the phone on me after shouting at me and being disrespectful. Please read the BBB and Angie's List verified reviews of Adams Pool's, be wary of many of the other reviews on Yelp/Google written by relatives of the owner, and then hire an expert instead! Edit to add: Rich, the owner, has added lying to his repertoire. I never asked for anything for free and paid for every service visit. He never gave me advice or provided instructions. He left each appointment without resolving the issue saying to wait and see if the problem is fixed and to call him if it wasn't. He took advantage of the fact that I was unaware the pentair salt cell expires which requires replacement not service (similar to a furnace filter) and then claimed not to be an expert on all pool systems. If Rich didn't know that all salt cells expire, he shouldn't be in the pool business. It wasn't until the phone call following his last visit, he said he just was given information about the salt cell, that it has expired and must be replaced. This came after many service calls and months of paying him hundreds and hundreds of dollars to troubleshoot, inspect, and leave without doing anything. During our last phone call, I requested we find a resolution to the situation and stated I felt taken advantage of, he shouted at me and hung up the phone. Adams Pool and Spas nonexistent costumer service, dishonest business practices and claims of being experts in this industry while Rich (the owner) simultaneously stated he is not an expert on my system (suprising because Pentair is a big name in the industry) earned them this review. There was no threat, coercion or statement made to him regarding this review. I'm hoping this candid review can prevent at least one person from making the mistake of hiring Adam's Pools, who are self professed non-experts on pools but who excel at taking advantage of people and unethical business practices.

Hot Tub Services - $175 gaskets per Robert

I want to start by acknowledging that Kevin, the installer, was excellent, professional, friendly,…read moreand thorough. My low rating is not a reflection of his work, but rather the lack of transparency in the pricing and communication I experienced. My concern began when two gaskets were replaced without my authorization or even a notification. I was informed only after the job was completed, and then charged $175 for the two gaskets, which can be purchased online for about $5 each. When I reached out to Robert, the owner, his response was that he once paid $875 for a headlight that cost $27 wholesale, an example that didn't address the issue and only reinforced my concern about unreasonable markups. Surprising customers with undisclosed parts and charges does not feel like good business. Before the appointment, we had agreed that since I already had the part they initially diagnosed as the problem, I would only be charged their hourly rate. What wasn't disclosed upfront was that the rate is $100 per hour. I was prepared to pay that once I learned it, but when I received a $375 bill for roughly two hours of work, I requested a breakdown. Only then did I learn about the added $175 for the two unapproved gaskets. The situation left me feeling like this was a bait‑and‑switch, especially since they were unable to charge me for the part I already provided. What makes this especially disappointing is that my first experience with this company about seven years ago was outstanding. At that time, Robert went above and beyond during the middle of winter, and I've recommended this company to others based on that great service. Unfortunately, something has changed, and this recent experience fell far short of the transparency and fairness I expected. My hope is that this review helps future customers who value clear communication and upfront pricing.

We spoke with Todd first and he was honest and knowledgeable throughout our selection process. He was never pushy, and we appreciated his honesty about which features would be good choices for us and which we could do without. Our project started in late fall and the crew worked incredibly hard to get the bulk of the work done before the winter. Even though the crew was rushing to beat the weather, we were amazed at their precision and the attention to detail they showed. Tom, the owner of the company, was onsite the whole time working hard and attending to many details like making sure that that the pool was completely level! Erich has exceeded our expectations regarding the opening of the pool, training us to take care of the pool, and making sure that our first pool season is problem free. We opted to use the landscape company that Signature recommended, Countywide Landscape, and we are very glad that we chose a landscape company that works so well with Signature. We highly recommend Signature Pools for a company with integrity and high standards of excellence. By the way, we chose the Ultimate 40 pool and absolutely love it!
