We have a 2024 Honda CR-V on lease through Downtown Honda Chicago. When we leased the vehicle, we…read morewere told that all oil changes during the 3-year lease would be free. After the first oil change, I kept smelling something burning. I brought it back because I knew something was not right, even though I was initially told it was fine. It turned out that the oil cap had not been put back on. They told me they had to clean the entire engine and said they made it look "showcase." That was obviously a serious mistake. Even after that, I continued going back for oil changes because they were supposed to be included with the lease. Recently, my husband received multiple text messages and phone calls saying there was an "important safety recall" that needed immediate attention. We scheduled the drop-off for this morning and planned to have the recall handled along with regular service. When my husband arrived, he was told there was no recall and that the employee had "triple checked." Then he was told the service would cost around $1,600 for the checkup, oil change, tire rotation, and other items. He was also told the free oil changes were only for 2 years, which is not what we were told when we leased the vehicle. That also does not make sense because I had the oil changed there in late fall or early winter. My husband ended up leaving with the car and was late to work because of this. When I called to follow up, I was told the last and only oil change on record was in May 2024. That is not accurate, and it is very concerning that their records do not match the service we received. Between the oil cap being left off after service, the confusing recall messages, the sudden $1,600 charge, the conflicting information about the lease oil changes, and the inaccurate service records, I no longer feel confident in how this dealership is handling our vehicle. This is also not the first major issue we have had with Downtown Honda Chicago. During the initial lease, we were overcharged, and they later wrote us a check for $2,000 in exchange for my husband not writing a terrible review. They even delivered the check to his workplace, which he did not know was going to happen. All of this has made the entire experience feel extremely unprofessional and concerning. These issues need to be escalated, and I will also be contacting Honda corporate.

Then after looking the Grenadier it was just enough time for me to enjoy a hot chocolate before Joe the finance person came out to get me. Zero pressure to add anything, I just declined all the extras and signed saying we talked about them. Then I walked out and took a couple pictures next to my detailed vehicle and got on the road back to Ohio. I couldn't say enough about my experience here. What an amazing team and the place was spotless. I highly recommend if you are looking new or used they take amazing care of you and the service tech were polite as well. He would not answer my calls or text when it was necessary to communicate to provide information of the transporter company and their driver since we live in CA. He did not even respond to say okay I got it or anything like that, especially since these days a lot of scam transportation companies are out there and you should be careful. It would just take a second to reply okay but he failed to respond by even a text. Anyways, the car arrived in California, there was a few things shown in the photo that were missing. I have added the photo below. He would still ignore the calls and texts and disrespect us to the full extent. He would answer every call, and doesn't assign you to a salesperson or someone else so you can have them assist you. They are the worst and this car we bought we paid over 430k used. Also, he promised to cover 50% of transportation cost, he didn't. The transportation company waited for hours and he never paid what he promised that he will do. It was part of the deal. Please avoid this place as much as you can. Very bad experience, and the car has aftermarket parts that's likely been in an accident he is trying to hide even though the carfax didn't show anything. We are going to have the local dealership to inspect to find out.

No one ever said it needed to be a drop off vs a wait. Big error. However, Scott got it in to diagnose the failed lever/spring, etc part. They were able to diagnose that it needed a new seat frame. I could not leave it, so it was a waste of time- two weeks for appt plus my afternoon being rescheduled. Scott was very knowledgeable and straight forward on my options and next steps. He ordered the seat frame and explained I would receive a text when said part was in. Then, I would need to schedule Another appt. ( I hope the turn around is quicker than a couple of weeks again. ) On a positive note, Scott handled my frustration with the whole process very well. He did Not make excuses. He told me the facts. I appreciated that immensely. You don't get that too often from a customer relations person. Cheers to Scott at Rogers Auto Group.

In July my car was stolen and then found but with quite a bit of damage but not totaled. My insurance recommended me take it to a dealership as they tend to get parts faster than a body shop would so I chose this one because it's the closest to me and that is turning out to be an an awful mistake. They currently are still "repairing my car" however, every single ETA I get is completely wrong. Initially told it could be a couple weeks depending on parts. After not hearing from them for nearly month, I called for about a week and a half straight, left multiple messages and no one would return my phone call. FINALLY, I got a response and I was told it needed to now go to the body shop...when asked about ETA for that, I was told could be a week, maybe two. I was also told they were still waiting on my insurance and that wasn't accurate. I have good insurance and State Farm sent the check to them (and then their revised one with additional work done) weeks ago and they had already been cashed by the dealership a month before. That was over 3 weeks ago and I am once again not getting my phone calls answered to at least update me. It has been close to 3 months and I still have no car back and absolutely no idea when I'm getting it back. At this point I feel like I might never get it back. I do not recommend this place for any service. I can't speak to purchasing a car here though but can't imagine it's worth it if it's anything like this.

I dropped it off with Carlos and he estimated my car to be done that day so I waited around. Unfortunately, it was not done that day, but estimated it could be a few days to weeks since it's an engine problem, BUT I was able to utilize the dealerships shuttle service home (a huge help throughout this whole experience)! The next day, I got a text from Carlos asking to approve 2 services on the car, an oil change ($109) and a crankshaft position sensor ($451). Carlos did mention that replacing the crankshaft position sensor would help diagnose the other problems with the car. I declined both services for now because, 1. I am unemployed and 2. I was just hoping to fix the engine. Going through the notes, it looked like my engine had passed their tests with flying colors (so no replacement despite the stalling and recall). Because I declined both services, my car was ready for pick up. I was able to utilize the shuttle service again! Once I got back to the service area, I paid the $250 for the car inspection/labor. Carlos then let me know that the reason my car is stalling is not because of the engine but because the crankshaft position sensor needs to be replaced. IF I knew this was the reason for the stalling engine, I would have opted for the replacement of the position sensor. Anyway, I opted for the crankshaft position sensor to being replaced. So once again, I utilized the shuttle service! This time, I got JOE COZZI as my shuttle driver. Let me tell you, this man is a saint and super knowledgeable with all things cars. During my ride home, Joe asked was going on with my car, I explained, he said check to see if you have a warranty with carmax. They are always trying to offer their warranty. He said call them as soon as you get to the house. And I did. I had purchased a 5 year warranty with carmax and a replacement of a crankshaft position sensor fell under the warranty. All I had to do was let Carlos know to call my insurance and pay my deductible. I would have never thought to look into whether or not I still had a warranty on my car. So I am extremely thankful for Joe for asking questions and sharing his knowledge with me that day. Side Note: Joe picked me up from home via shuttle service when my car was done! So I extend all my thanks out to JOE COZZI for saving me nearly $500 I didn't have.
