Nice clean restaurant, everyone is so friendly. Our waitress Nevada was the best, great service and so hospitable! I had the grilled cheese which was perfectly buttery good, and a cup of ham and bean soup which was flavorful and hearty. Their pies are baked from scratch daily. We ordered the coconut cream pie and the butterscotch and peanut butter chocolate pies, they were so so good. All the pies got a thumbs up! I definitely recommend this place! read more

Nice little diner in napoleon. Today is July 4th and it was fairly empty for a late breakfast but it seemed understaffed however the two waitresses were very prudent in getting to everyone. Meals were good. French toast super tasty. The skillet was a little bland but that's good because I can then season it myself!!!! read more

Husband had 2 coney dogs. He actually said they were the worst he's ever had. Buns were hard. Sauce and dogs were tasteless. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger. The burger was done as requested, but the top bun was falling apart. Fries were standard. Was told by waitress to watch the seat. The cushioning in the booth was pretty much gone. Sunk way down. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot which we thought was a good sign. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Who knows! Nevertheless, we were highly disappointed and will not come back. My wife and I both ordered the cafe breakfast which was on special. We ordered our eggs over medium with the whites cooked, and for the potatoes to be crispy. The eggs on both orders were runny, whites not cooked. My hash browns were okay but my wife's were soggy and greasy. She also ordered a side of sausage gravy that tasted like wet flour, and absolutely no flavor. We did not ask to have anything redone (but should have). When our waitress brought the tab we told here about our experience. She told us the yokes are going to be runny with eggs over medium. Never offered an apology. Then we had to have her change our bill because it wasn't for the specials price. Our bill was compt'd, but when she brought back the new tab, she set it down without a word and walked away. From the time we sat down and the waitress took our order it took over 5 minutes to get our drinks. We both ordered the fish dinner, I ordered chili and fries as my side. My mom ordered coleslaw and fries. It took a different waitress over 30 minutes to get our chili and coleslaw out to us. The chili you can tell was out of a can since it had no flavor to it and my mother's coleslaw was spoiled. When I brought this to the waitresses attention she offered to bring her another one. My mom asked for mashed potatoes and gravy. When our fish finally came out 45 minutes later the fish was cold and so was the mashed potatoes and gravy. We had a nice lunch at Napoleon Café today. Wife's chef salad was plenty full and delicious; husband's chicken fried steak and homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, and a salad, equally delicious. The only thing we would mention to the negative is when we asked for ice water, our original waitress brought out 2 large iced water glasses that were rust colored and wondered if we "still wanted those" and we certainly did not. It was not the color water should be. She took them away, and we barely saw her after that and we were waited on by two other very friendly waitresses, that took care of the rest of our meal. I don't know if the fact we did not want to drink rust water annoyed the first waitress but, sorry, not sorry. We would've tipped more generously except for this situation. We've been coming to this diner many years and always enjoy their food and Hometown family atmosphere. We will certainly return. But maybe the water pipes need some updating. This place is disgusting they dont wear hairnets in the kitchen, they only wash the stove and the top of the stove ONCE A YEAR, there was also sand fleas at one point in which someone addressed and steve the owner came out and sprayed it with raid with everyone sitting in the dining room eating! absolutely disgusting, if you send the food back cold they just put in the microwave and send it back out, not to mention the kitchen reeks and always floods! workers will take trash and drink bucket out and not wash their hands! it's absolutely disgusting restaurant idk how the health department hasnt shut the place down yet! read more

Hands down the worst dining experience of my entire life. Service was absent. It took 50 minutes to make eggs, all of which were cold. I took 2 bites of my lumberjack omelet and immediately felt sick. The mens room was in horrendous condition. There was a hair in our biscuits and gravy. The sheer ambience of this place literally made my brother shit his pants. It's actually comical how bad this experience was. Should have ran after seeing "Pasta Salda" misspelled on the sign out front. Sorry for the tough review but somebody has to shut this place down. read more

Really awful food. I ordered the vegetable beef soup and a French dip. The soup was just a few vegetables with some beef gravy on it. The French dip wasn't sliced roast beef it was old pot roast chunks and not much of that either. The dip was something they pulled out of the grease trap. Really disgusting. I almost vomited when I tasted it. I should have known better since there were only 2 cars in the parking area at lunchtime. read more

Friendly service always, I used to love to go here, however, it's went down hill. A year ago my mother found a hair in her country fried steak and we didn't go there for a few months after that. When we returned, there was an ordeal with some man ( presumably who worked there, as the waitresses where okay with it and talked as if it were normal) walked around ( into and out of the bathroom, then into the kitchen I think.) with blood all over his face and shirt. Started frequenting this café in May 2018 whenever I was in town. Great service (Debbie is my favorite), good food. I usually come here for breakfast but have eaten lunches and one dinner so far. Nice little hole in the wall place where customers, servers are friendly and mostly everyone knows each other. I felt welcome. Reasonably priced and good food portions. I use to come in here all the time for breakfast and about 6 months ago I went in and got country fried steak and eggs and sadly there was a short curly hair in the gravy and the eggs tasted like grease. Ordered oatmeal....instant oat meal which tasted like paste. Service was mediocre. Server filled our sodas with another cup of soda. Still a favorite place to eat, wait staff is wonderful. Food quality depends on who is in the back of the house cooking. The owner is cutting her own throat by down-sizing portions, after all the mainstay of her business are the locals that have been going there for years and years. We've been going here for twenty years or so. Most times we go here for breakfast. Because the food is always served hot & delicious. Waitresses are always friendly & most times efficient. Place is big, so no matter how crowded the big parking lot looks, there's always a table to be found. Great place to find home-cooked like meals for breakfast or dinner. Stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, that type of thing. We often go on Fridays for the all-you-can-eat fish dinners. Wife prefers the cod/perch. I like the Walleye. Huge pieces of fish with lots of flavor. Place always looks clean. Worse thing about this place would be the parking lot. It's ok that it's not paved. Except it has huge/deep pot holes that after rain/snow turn into lakes or frozen ponds. But that hasn't stopped us from going there for a good meal. I do wish they served beer & wine. read more

Its a good place to eat, nothing fancy, its built next to a livestock auction house. But the farmers love it , its in a quant little michigan town. the napoleon burger is too tall for anyone to take a bite of. the selection of pies usually around fourty or more is hard to beat. They give very small portions of cornbeef hash, I usually advoid this selection after getting burned several times expecting a helping plate full and only get about a table spoon of it. I always tell them to fry up the hash browns crispy, they never ever do. I have seen the biggest egg omelets in this resturant, they do cover a plate. And the sausage patty is about five or six inchs very big. Over all its a winner, Theres a truck stop in nebraska thats almost as good, but they have private showers. the napoleon cafe is one of the top ten cafe's in the country to me. read more
