Underrated local dinner spot…read more The entry to this restaurant is so easy to miss because it's so narrow and it blends in so well with everything. I don't know if they want to keep it hidden, but I guess you could consider it that. We went in on a Saturday night with reservations and I highly recommend it since the place was full when we went in and more people kept wanting to come and eat. Service was great from beginning to end, I especially love that everyone accommodated my stroller and my baby. There were four of us and we each got something different, but to start I highly suggest the steamed shrimp and pork wontons and the lechon style Brussels - I would've double-ordered those for my entree if I could have! For entrees we ordered the garlic noodles, misoyaki butterfish, seared catch-of-the-day, and the burger. They were all amazing, and after we all started letting each other try we started making our own "flights" because everything just hit different spots and flavor profiles. In summary, this is one of those places that doesn't care about aesthetics, the decor is casual, but the food is soooo ono. They focus all their energy on food and service, and that makes a winner winner chicken dinner in my book.

Great happy hour deal with unique fusion dishes!…read more Food - 5/5 Sooo good! We mostly ordered off the happy hour menu - Brussel sprouts, mushroom pizza, fish tacos, and ume whiskey sour. We also got the strawberry matcha. The flavor combos were so unique and interesting! Service - 5/5 Our server was so friendly and attentive! Ambiance - 5/5 Slightly fancy vibes but still casual!

You can literally see it on either side of the H-1 freeway going West Or East. These freshly made, warm, fluffy & crisp delicious Malasadas are perfect for any time of the day. The ladies working were pleasant, quick and efficient with my order. I ordered 2 with sugar and 2 without sugar. Tips; - Cashless so be sure to have a debit card or credit card on hand. -When visiting Oahu definitely a must stop. It was a Thursday afternoon, and we mingled with the intrepid tourists who drove to Central O'ahu. This malasadamobile is permanently parked in food truck row. You can see it from the freeway. You can see Laverne's, the malasasamobile, Mountain Shave Ice, Thong's Thai, Taste Tea, Dick's Lechon, and ... the blood bank mobile. The truck ladies had to be sweltering but they were still nice. And it's always a happy atmosphere when you're about to get a box full of deep-fried, sugar rolled doughnuts. I stuck with the classic sugar but we also got some cinnamon sugar and stuffed (dobash and haupia) to share.

We stopped by Nanding's Bakery in Waipahu on a Saturday around 6:15 AM. There was only one other customer inside and plenty of parking, so it was the perfect time to stop in. The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by the aroma of freshly baked bread -- and suddenly I was transported right back to my childhood. Growing up, bakery runs were a thing in our family. We would go to Kamehameha Bakery and Nanding's in Kalihi, and I remember coming home with two dozen pandesal. It's funny how something as simple as a bag of fresh bread can become such a core childhood memory. Now I get to continue that little tradition with my own family. Our favorites are the Spanish rolls and pandesal, and if there's one thing I recommend -- eat them while they're fresh and warm! The bread is so soft and fluffy, and there's just something about opening that bag/box while everything is still warm that makes it even better. The ladies working that morning were wonderful too. We were greeted right away, and everyone was helpful, efficient, and genuinely sweet. You can feel the love and pride they put into what they make, and that kind of local hospitality makes the experience even more special. Our haul this morning was a box of 18 Spanish rolls + pandesal for $18.17 -- fresh, warm, nostalgic, and plenty to bring home for the family. If you're visiting Oʻahu and want to try a local bakery favorite, Nanding's is definitely worth adding to your list. And if you grew up in Hawaiʻi with fresh pandesal from the bakery... you already know. TIP: Go early! Fresh, warm bread straight from the bakery is the only way to do it.

Just don't look at the bottom of the box after a couple of mins :0 The hours of operation works for me. There's always a line formed right outside before they open at 4:30 on the weekdays. Like I mentioned, they have other baked goods and they all look good. I'm sure they taste just as good as they look, I just can't verify. Overall five stars. Plenty of parking when I'm there at 4:20 am ;p M

I have never been so disappointed with a local business, especially being born and raised here…read more I've been trying all week to buy poi balls. Before today, I had already stopped by 2-3 different times, but each time I left empty handed. Today, I finally made it there again, waited in line, and there was only one customer ahead of me. The employee, an older woman, didn't acknowledge me while helping the other customer, which I understood, so I waited patiently for about 5-8 minutes. What was especially frustrating is that while I was standing there waiting, it would have been nice if she had simply let me know they were only accepting cash that day. That would have saved me from waiting in line only to find out when it was finally my turn. Even a simple sign posted at the counter would have made a huge difference. It just felt like there was a lack of basic customer courtesy and communication. When it was finally my turn to order, I was told their system was down and they were only accepting cash. At that point I was already frustrated because I had parked far away. I asked where the nearest ATM was, and she vaguely said it was "somewhere in the food court" without giving clear directions. I ended up wandering around looking for an ATM, and by then I was so overwhelmed and frustrated that I just left. I tried calling several times throughout the day, but no one ever answered the phone. After a few hours, I decided to give them one more chance, even though it's out of the way for me. I called again with no answer, but I figured she might have been the only employee working and too busy to answer. When I arrived, they were sold out. After spending an entire week trying to purchase something as simple as poi balls, making multiple trips, waiting in line, searching for an ATM, and never being able to reach anyone by phone, I'm extremely disappointed. Better communication, answering the phone, posting when you're cash only, or updating customers when items are sold out would have saved me a lot of time and frustration. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me not to return, and I can't recommend this business based on the service I received.

The restaurant is nice and clean but heads up they don't have restrooms. They said you actually have to leave and use the food courts next door. Anyways, their food is always excellent. I decided to treat myself to their pork belly breakfast, omg it was so delicious. Though it is a bit pricey, sometimes it's good to treat yourself. Their rolls are excellent as usual, my only complaint their coffee cups are so small. If you're gonna give small cups, please leave the pitcher lol. Now for their bakery, they are known for their coco puffs but they have so much more! Cream puffs, cupcakes, etc. though they are also kind of expensive, i still walked out with a non shameful amount lol.

While waiting inside for my order, I noticed four young employees who appeared far more focused on socializing than on serving customers. One employee was recounting details of his previous night, which clearly distracted the other three -- they were laughing and joking around instead of attending to the long drive-thru line and the customer waiting at the counter. This kind of behavior shouldn't be happening during a rush, and it points to a lack of active management on the floor. Staff need to understand they're there to work, not to socialize on the clock, especially when customers are visibly waiting. I'll be following up with the regional manager directly, because a location this busy needs a manager who is actually managing -- keeping the team focused and the lines moving. A couple thoughts before you post: I left out the physical description (curly hair) since Yelp/Google reviews are public and permanent -- best to avoid identifying details about specific employees. Want me to also draft a separate, more detailed message for when you call the regional manager? That one could include more specifics since it's a direct, private conversation.
