This place is great! It's bar food, but a little classier than straight burgers and pizzas. My favorite is the Rodeo burger, avadacos, jalapenos....delicious. Real nice beer choice. They let you try out whatever draught beer you haven't heard of before ordering. Definitely a plus in my book. Prices aren't so terrible either. But the real glory is the pool tables! Five brand spankin' new pool tables. The waitresses walk around the bar taking orders so you don't even need to leave your table to get another beer. Went there for dinner on a Sunday night. My husband and I shared the special: Chicken Cacciatore for $13.95 (slow cooked peppers, onions, carrots, celery & chicken in a spicy tomato sauce over white rice) that was to die for and the Citrus Pecan for $10 (candied pecans, orange supreme, red onion, crumble bleu and balsamic vinaigrette that was pretty good, nothing special. My husband ordered a Samuel Adams draft for $5. It was not crowded, so there was only one person waitering. I'll definitely go back. Service was good, not great. They have a large game room with pools, darts and other games. Goos for groups. Thought the price was decent. Next time I'll try the burgers as I've heard they're really good. read more

Went to get a late dinner with my husband - I hadn't eaten all day and was ravenous. We sat at the bar and ordered chicken tenders with sauce on the side & a burger. The tenders came out sauced. My husband hates them with sauce on them already but knew I was starving so he said it was fine, but after trying a bite realized they were already quite soggy. We asked them to be remade due to the issue. The bartender was SO rude and started arguing about it and was like you already (me) ate one. To which my husband said I don't care if you charge me for both, I just want them with sauce on the side. He had such an insane attitude acting as if we were trying to swindle him out of one freaking chicken tender after they screwed up the order to begin with. Why offer to remake them in the first place and then get an attitude when we change our minds a minute later. It wasn't as if the whole basket was gone. The other bartenders were nice, but that one was a real dick. read more

They have a good selection of beers and food and the atmosphere is nice and friendly. We tried a few beers but some of them were a bit disappointing...the Guinness, for example, didn't taste like...a proper Guinness. We also had nachos and the portion was huge. read more

Sure it's a little bit of a dive but the prices are good, the food tastes good and it's more or less a great spot for an average night. Live in the neighborhood and love supporting the local shops but after consistently poor service I won't be going back to Napper Tandy's anytime soon. Came in on a Sunday night and other than a few people sitting at the bar the place was empty. No one greeted us as we entered or brought menus. We sat at the cleanest of the high top tables and grabbed our own menus that were left behind at another. After about 10 minutes someone finally came by to take our order - an appetizer and burgers. After about 15 minutes our appetizer hadn't shown and I started trying to get the bartender's attention. We overheard him tell someone to check on our order. 10 more minutes passed and nothing happened. A waitress started her shift and came by to check on us. We told her we'd been waiting over 20 minutes for food and she scurried to the kitchen. She returned with our burgers and said there had been a mix-up (mind you NO ONE else had ordered food the entire time we'd been there). She then returned 5 minutes later with our appetizer - which was COLD. This is only an example of the WORST experience. Service is consistently bad here. Do not recommend. read more

Fine for casual drinks, but if you're in the area looking for dinner/a night out, head to any of the other rozzy center spots. So I'm giving one star because I have too to make a review first off it was my birthday and I forgot my ID which is no big deal because I don't even drink but my friends wanted to take a shot with me so I showed the waitress my ID on my phone which should be legal but she refused it so I order ginger ale with limes and lime juice and order food the food was nasty cold and no flavor my friends ordered mixed drinks food and 1 shot each there was 5 of us so they had four shots my cup had two limes and water which was my melted ice I asked for another ginger ale with limes and lime juice so I can toast with my friends but the waiter took to damn long and my friends was like toast with ur water we will get another shot and you can toast with the soda everyone was laughing because I'm 37 drinking water down soda on my birthday so they took the shot and me with my fake shot the waitress comes over and throws the bill on the table and we are like we not even finished yet I look on the bill they charged us 5 shot I told her to take it off there was only 4 then I said why did you give us the bill in a rude manner she said her boss seen me take a shot and to close our tab I asked him to come over I told him my ice melted it wasn't a shot and we ordered four look at the camera and smell my cup or my breath if you want to he said I seen you take the shot don't play with me with an attitude and stormed off not even giving me a chance which is messed up if I'm giving you proof the bill was 207 after she took off the extra shot we gave just that we own a bussines down the street and I still will never go here and on top of that they are Racist it took them for ever to serve us and food was cold but yet people that came after us got there food first and you could still see the steam from their plate also took them forever to put two tables together and clean them for use this is not the first time we had issues but we keep giving them chance since we are right down the street also the female bar tender is always drunk and pays to much attention to the men at the bar vs all the other customers and the staff never stay long they always quit food gets nastier every time we go the service is lousy unless you are white I Hope one day this place shuts down and new people own it make it more vibrant and good food and atmosphere and change the name read more

Came in for a drink with a local friend while another restaurant got our table ready. All we wanted was a quick beer. Apparently they don't take valid out of state IDs, they will take 15 minutes to give your ID back, and they will do it with attitude. Worst service ever. Don't go here. read more

West Rox/Rossie is desperately needing a place like this, and I like the Norwood location. Moderately busy on a Friday night, food was good, portion was average. I agree with another poster about the door, what's up with that? Not very inviting to say the least. My issue is the choice of music being played - what's up with the LOUD head-banging rock music? We could barely have a conversation that didn't involve lip reading. The choice of music and the volume didn't seem to sync with a place like NT with an Irish pub theme. We'll give the place one more try, but if it's the same loud genre being aired, we're back out that ugly door. read more

It's honestly a nice place and the front line staff seem very nice but it's probably the worst food I've ever had in my life. The burgers were extremely over cooked. My friends ordered medium and what we got was a brown disk you could play skee ball with. And the specials - which I would think would be decent - were awful. I ordered a chicken avocado pizza and it was a burnt cheese pizza with goat cheese, avocado and...no chicken. If your going to serve something terrible at least include the food you promise. Look - if you want a bar and drinks, this place is great but if you want drinks and food, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. read more

Great bartender from Ireland I forget his name but he was great. They had an app special that was a good deal. They have a respectable variety of draft beer. Which I appreciate more now as I live in woburn and its rare that you get good variety . The reason I did not give 5 is bc the bar seats are right next to front doors and if someone is smoking outside it comes right in. read more

The pizza is surprisingly good here, and their dinner specials are amazing (hello delicious steak and mashed potatoes and asparagus for less than $20). It's new. It's a decent local bar with pretty good bar food and a staff that is really trying to make folks feel welcome. On my second visit the bartender served me up a good burger and a draft -- and remembered my name from my prior visit three weeks earlier. OK, so I'm a guy named "Ashley" -- and I am fairly gregarious. But still, that was impressive! (Or maybe I was one of only a few people who came in twice -- though I doubt it). Prices are very reasonable. It's got a convenient location -- right in the heart of thriving Roslindale Square. This is your typical Irish-ish sports-ish bar in the Boston suburbs. What is atypical is the food -- it is excellent! The burgers are great and the pizza (not something I normally go for in a pub) is excellent too. I don't know who came up with bbq sauce and onion rings on a pizza but they deserve the Nobel Prize. The wife & I moved to Roslindale in Fall of 2013 and this has become our local watering hole. I haven't been to Norwood so can't compare with their location there. Plenty of room to play pool too. The staff are very nice though they've been undermanned a couple of times I've been there. But, again, a nice place with great food. read more

I have been to Napper Tandy's several times and with each visit, Napper Tandy's grows on me more and more. Upon using the rest rooms during my second visit, I discovered Napper Tandy's has a very large game room. The beer selection offers interesting choices at reasonable prices. The food is surprisingly good (for a bar) with fun specials (one night I had a 1 pound burger). The service has been great as Napper Tandy's is staffed with unpretentious bartenders. I will continue to go to Napper Tandy's provided they continue to offer good customer service. read more

Awesome neighborhood bar! A huge step up from what used to be at this location. I've been a few times. The burger with pulled pork on top was amazing. The pizzas are also good. The nachos didn't have enough salsa or cheese, but they weren't terrible. Nappers just added a few pool tables so it makes me excited to go back. Great location, great setup... BUT. Very poorly managed, bar tenders were very inexperienced. Didn't know how to make simple cocktail. Customer service was at a poor quality, until I was paying my bill and the manager was running to check upon the quality of service... AFTER we paidbour bill....to cover his own ass. Napper Tandys is perfect for what it is. They secretly have awesome food, you would never expect it. They have straight pool tables with straight cues. Stopped in during dinner time on a Monday night and it was very quiet. They had quite a cider selection when I was there including angry orchard (draft), Magners, a few different Ace flavors, Citizens, and a couple others. I chose Ace Pineapple because it's my favorite! I'm not a beer drinker but they 18 different selections on tap that I can see. I ordered a side Caesar salad to start. The Caesar didn't impress me, they put a crouton in each corner and the lettuce was very dull looking. Overall it tasted ok, but presentation needed work. I also got the steak tip dinner. The steak tips came out smothered in BBQ sauce when I was expecting more of a seasoning. The meat itself was fantastic and cooked perfectly (IMO). I really think the BBQ sauce took the steak tips down a notch. The potatoes were good and I was offered gravy to add. The veggie medley was definitely that. It has broccoli, cauliflower, red and green peppers, zucchini, and squash. Service was quick and bartender was friendly. Everything was very reasonably priced as well which was nice. I will definitely be back, one for the cider selections and two to try one of their specialty pizzas that sounded SO good! read more

I live in Rozzi and have seen the area change a lot in recent years. While this is an upgrade from Robyn's, it is still not that great. It's too bad because they have an excellent space, good location, decent pub grub and friendly service. Where they fall short seems to be in the management, or lack thereof. It would be a great "go-to" to chill, get a quick drink or food BUT it is always WAY TOO LOUD! I get that they want to cater to everyone but that can be done while having some standards. I've given it 3 chances just to see if they were just having "growing pains" and each time I was sorely disappointed. And it's not even been that busy when I've gone but there are always 3 or 4 people at the bar who are talking so loudly that I've had trouble hearing my friend when we were sitting at the high tops. C'mon, nicely telling ignorantly inconsiderate folks to please use their inside voices is just good management and would be welcomed by the other 90% of the customers. The pool room is great to have so close but one time I went (played twice) I felt like I was at a college party. I have no problem with the younger crew - when they act appropriately - but I swear on my sister's life, that the folks at the other table were not of age. Management doesn't seem to care so long as they are making $. All in all, I hope that they raise the bar beyond just getting the almighty dollar. I'll give it one more try but that will be it. I can go to the Drinking Fountain for pool & R-n-R to watch games or get a drink/food. read more

I liked this pub a lot for awhile. Decent food, especially for a vegetarian like myself. Pretty good selection of beer. The bartenders were always splendid, ranging from friendly to the best reason to go back. That's what ended up being the problem. In the 9 months since we started visiting, at least six bartenders had come and gone, the most recent our favorite of the bunch, a charming Irish guy who definitely livened up our evenings there. Since we never experienced any problems with these bartenders and never observed any problems they gave other customers, we could only conclude the issue was with the management treating their employees poorly. As much as I liked the place, I can't in good conscious patronize a local establishment that has unethical business practices. So on to another regular pub we go. Also... the nearly constant country garbage coming out of the jukebox was embarrassing. Turn up the game for chrissake. read more
