My hair salon and nail salon are both about a half block from here, so I've come in often for drinks. Most recently, I decided to meet a friend here for dinner. I wasn't super hungry, so I got the buffalo lollipop chicken wings. My friend went all-in on the steak. She really liked her steak - it was cooked to her liking and she downed the whole thing. She let me try her mashed potatoes and they were deliciously creamy! I was scared about the buffalo wings because I've had a few places mess them up recently by making them fancy. Buffalo sauce should taste like buffalo sauce - amirite? Anyway - The wings here did NOT disappoint. I literally went in waiting to be sad, but they were so good - exactly the flavor I was hoping for, good sized wings and well cooked chicken. I would totally get this again (with a side of those yummy mashed potatoes). Every drink I've gotten here has been well made and I'm a cocktail girl. I will definitely continue to frequent this place and I look forward to trying more menu items. read more

As usual, my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to have a beer, eat, and relax after a long day. It was Sunday, March 16th. The weekend was St. Patrick's Day. As soon as we walked in, we looked for a seat at the bar or nearby. Any seat we could find was fine by us. However, just as we were about to sit down at an empty seat, a group of three large people walked in. Two men and one woman, and quickly sat down where we were going to sit. Okay! I guess they need a seat more than we do! We didn't care. We politely asked where they were sitting earlier so my boyfriend and I could go over there. And they were completely rude and obnoxious. So, we quickly realized that it was best not to keep trying to communicate with them. After a few minutes, we found a table nearby, and they started staring at us and saying horrible things the whole time. The worst words possible. I was completely scared, uncomfortable, and confused. Why were they acting like this? We didn't tease them! We didn't treat them with disrespect at any time. We didn't mind them sitting before us. After all, the restaurant/bar was full and any available place to sit would have been great! We tried to be nice and tell them it was okay. We always make friends when we go out. And they kept scaring us to the point where I didn't know how to leave. I didn't know how dangerous they were. They were so big, the three of them. And they kept staring at us and saying horrible things. We didn't have many options. So we talked to the night bartender and then the night manager. The manager kept doing what he was doing, which was "nothing." We explained what was going on. And nothing was done. I guess we were supposed to be safe and having fun. So the place didn't feel like a place to relax and eat anymore, or safe. And every second I felt oppressed and threatened by looks and words. Anyway, I left scared. The place was so crowded. I was afraid that all three of them would leave at the same time. I was afraid to know who they were and how much they had drunk during the day to get to this level of stupidity. I left feeling very worried, without having any fun, eating or drinking with my boyfriend. It was a frustrating night in a place I used to enjoy going to. read more

Sunday brunch, called and made a reservation thinking it would be busy. Walked in and the place was quiet almost empty. Was seated promptly, server came over and introduced herself and gave us menus and asked for our drinks. Coffee and Diet Pepsi.Menu in restaurant had different prices than those on line. Ordered plain jane omelette with side of bacon and steak and scrambled eggs. Music was at nice level, no need for raised voices. About 5-10 minutes a different person delivered our meals. The omelette was plain jane and the bbq steak cooked as expected (awesome). The home fries were very hot and, we had to wait and eat them last. 2 great meals at reasonable price. My sister and I hosted my nephews engagement party here. I was struggling when deciding what to do, between catering at a home, booking a separate space and catering, or booking at a restaurant. This was the best, most stress- free option. There was no charge for the space just a food purchase minimum which was far more reasonable than the other options I mentioned for my party size. The event space was perfect! It was private, had its own designated bar, was beautifully decorated, good music, French doors that opened out to a spacious patio area bringing in all this natural light, and additional seating. It even had a private restroom behind the bar so you everything was right there. The food was delicious, we did brunch buffet, and our dedicated staff Christina, was awesome! She was on top of everything and seemed to anticipate every need before it even had to be said. Eleanor was the event coordinator and she was very helpful. She took care of our reservation and even recommended a bakery close by (Donna's Cakes) that did free delivery to the restaurant. I was very pleased with the result and everyone had a great time. Came here July 23, 23 for lunch first time trying my Mother recommended this place. I tried the teriyaki chicken lollipop as a appetizer and for the main dish the bolognese dish and got the butter cake for dessert. The chicken was delicious cooked moist and very tasty the teriyaki sauce was great! The bolognese was good had lamb, sausage and beef with pasta the sauce was very good, but only thing was needed more meat it had plenty of pasta not enough meat. But the dish was good. The dessert was phenomenal! The butter cake was dense moist and rich! But not overly rich just right it came with ice cream and raspberry or strawberry syrup on it! I love this place. It's usually not crowded, has a nice open floor plan, a bar side that plays music (not too loud), has a fire place, and a downstairs area I believe for functions. We got seated quickly. I brought my mom for her birthday brunch and had an amazing food experience. Ordered the best eggs Benedict I've ever had with well seasoned home fries. Had no complaints at all. I could have eaten another order they were so good. Mom ordered the steak and eggs which was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. I think someone overheard me say it was her birthday and when we were done they brought her a nice desert that was like a chocolate lava brownie with ice cream, whip cream, chocolate drizzled over the plate with a candle. Was super impressed. Came again the Saturday before Easter Sunday with my youngest son and he loved the eggs Benedict as well. My birthday fell on that Easter Sunday and my wife wanted to bring me but thought I had spoiled my appetite being that I was just there the day before. She was wrong! We went again but there was something different going on. They had a buffet style brunch happening which I was ok with since they had what I wanted. The strange part was the cost vs what we actually ate and the waiter not actually having to do anything but bring out drink and a check. When we went to serve our food I came across a couple dirty plates and some still wet from whatever they use to clean them. Got back to my table w the food and my utensils were dirty with food. Wasn't pleasant. I felt like we ate less than what we paid for sure. It's still my "go to" for brunch from now on but I'll make sure my stuff is clean when I get served. read more

The waitress was beyond wonderful, her name was Ella, top rated, friendly, and accommodating with a smile the whole time. The food runner (sorry forgot the actual name) was so polite and great at his job. We loved the dining side of the restaurant. The open kitchen had a lot going on, sometimes the smell (not bad, just a lot) was overpowering. The mixed drinks are phenomenal! Highly recommended! A group of us came in after we got off of work last night and we had the best time. It was my first time going (others in my group frequent the spot) and I absolutely loved it. It was the perfect late night spot for us to unwind and let loose. There was a really fun mix of people - different ages, different backgrounds, different occasions, good mix of regulars and first timers, etc. - and yet everyone seemed to get along and blend seamlessly. It's hard to put into writing but there was just an all around really fantastic vibe throughout the place and great energy from both the staff and the customers. I want to specifically mention (and thank) the two bartenders (Josh + Pat) who were working last night as they certainly helped make our experience what it was. Josh and Pat seemed to have a really good rhythm working together behind the bar and, as a result, were both diligent and efficient with what they were doing while simultaneously creating a fun and inviting atmosphere. Perhaps most notable was the fact that both bartenders seemed very attentive to customers' needs and very in tune with what was happening at and around the bar. Pat went out of his way to check in on us (a group of females) not once but twice to make sure that another customer's behavior was not bothering us or making us feel uncomfortable. We assured Pat that we were fine (we actually enjoyed the other customer and found him to be quite friendly and entertaining). However, it stood out to all of us that Pat went out of his way to discretely make sure that we felt safe and comfortable. I am looking forward to my next visit and will DEFINITELY be back. read more

Luckily, we did not order food, because we noticed two mice running around the restaurant! We told the waitress, who hopefully reported it to management. The Function Room was the perfect place to hold a family gathering. Staff was very easy to work with from the beginning planning stages right up until the evening ended. The service was outstanding and everyone said the food was delicious. We had about 35 people and everyone enjoyed the quesadillas and sliders that were very filling and larger than expected. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the vibe is upscale without being pretentious, and most importantly, the food is delicious! If you are getting breakfast, I recommend the California Omelette, which I like to order with whole eggs (instead of egg whites) and sliced avocado instead of guacamole. (Yes, I am picky, but they are happy to make substitutions). For lunch, I like the Southwest Chipotle Chicken Chopped Salad and my BF likes the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich. We've also been here for dinner and enjoyed the BBQ Tenderloin Tips with creamy whipped potatoes, grilled asparagus spears and crispy onion strings. Have been here a couple of times and on both occasions sat in the self-seat area near the bar because it is so cute and cozy with the fireplace. Great atmosphere especially at christmas with the decorations. However I've noticed that the service is somewhat lacking in this area both times I've been. We've had to flag down the waitress/bus boys or ask for something at the bar. Still worth it though, to be by the fire. Ordered a western omelet which was an extremely generous size and yummy. Cajun seasoned home fries are a little on the spicy side and solid bloody Mary's and mimosas. Will definitely be back again! read more

The food here is better than most places around. Fresh and cooked perfectly. Been here a few times and never disappointed. The last time at lunch I had the Buddah Bowl which was tasty, fresh, and hopefully healthy and my gf had a burger and without a doubt the best sweet potato fries either of us had ever had. I don't expect they'll be made that good again but they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Steaming hot and just perfect. This review is for the bereavement luncheon at West On Centre hosted for my family earlier today. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our contact Eleanor who took care of it all for me. I essentially had two quick phone calls with her to discuss availability and make selections from the menu and the rest was completely taken care of for us. During a time of incredible stress and sadness, Eleanor made it clear she felt it's her job to take the planning of the luncheon off our plate so we could worry about all the other time sensitive necessary tasks involved in dealing with a death in the family. When we arrived tables were set, food was ready, and drinks were available. It was a wonderful way to gather at the end of a long two days. And everyone was happy with the pork, butternut squash ravioli, and chicken broccoli alfredo. Thank you so much Eleanor for alleviating a lot of stress during a difficult time. Had dinner there last week. The food was delicious. The service was excellent and the ambiance is nice with the windows in front by the tables. They have this lamps on the tables which are cool. We both ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak tips were delicious and juicy. The quality of the meat was top shelf. No fat or chewy pieces. One of the most consistent restaurant in town! Quite a selection of taps and they change it up often! The bar area is romantic, warm and cozy. The wooden furnitures with the fire place sets up the perfect classic manor look. It's definitely my favorite spot in the area. Food: I always look forward to their special menu when I come here! They mix it up and sometime make the menu reflect the season. Hawaiian pizza and it hit the spot! A little bit of sweet and savory and pairs well with a beer~ Must-try: Spiced Calamari- lightly battered squid with banana and cherry peppers served with sweet chili sauce on the side for dipping. Located on a corner perhaps a block away from a rotary, this location offers street parking only. Upon entering, the reception area is before you, the bar is to your right, and the dining room to your left. I spotted a counter-like high top table where you might like to sit for an action-packed view of the somewhat open kitchen. Younger guests are offered a Children's menu of entrees which come with a choice of drinks that include lemonade and milk, and an ice cream for dessert: Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate sauce? Cherry? And to keep them busy, they also get a cup of crayons and a coloring sheet. ps - The free dessert for the kid did its job well - the adults ordered the day's special dessert so we had something to do while we waited for him to finish his meal... The bread basket arrived with cool temperature thin sliced focaccia, just enough for one per person, and a reddish hummus type spread that was also cold, but tasty. We figured the portion offered would help us to not overfill on the carbs, but then our entrees took a while, so we were glad when additional bread was voluntarily offered to us. The bread was good, but would have been much better served warm. Our server remembed that I had specifically inquired as to the crispiness of the skin on my Today's Special Pan Seared Crispy Duck Breast $19 broccoli rabe, roasted butternut squash & pecan hash, pomegrante demi glaze, unfortunately the kitchen didn't follow through. However my duck sans the crispy skin was still tastier than several of my more recent experiences at other restaurants, so I was satisfied. I also enjoyed the bitter greens and the sweet cubes of gourd that accompanied the protein on my plate. I was tempted to order the Butternut Squash Ravioli ($16 for a full portion) listed on the menu, so I was glad to sample some from another's plate. I found the pasta tender and the filling not too sweet. It arrived with more cubes of butternut squash laced with the cream sauce. Even with my sweet tooth, I wondered if just eating this one dish would have been too much sweet and not enough savory... sort of a one note meal. But we shared some, so it wasn't much of a worry in our case. My taste of the Chicken Marsala $16 found the thin white meat chicken tender enough, but the diner of the dish found it overly salted, as did the one who ordered the Today's Special Shrimp Stirfry which I didn't try. I have seemed to notice however that non-Asian restaurants tend to oversalt the dishes in which they use soy sauce, an ingredient that is already naturally salty. But even the side of Sweet Potato Fries $4 were over-salted. I guess this kitchen needs to learn to salt with a lighter hand. These fries were also a bit oily and not particularly crispy. I'll probably have to look elsewhere to satisfy my sweet potato fries cravings... But I do have to give props for the regular fries here as offered by our junior diner who said with enthusiasm, "They're like McDonald's!" Additionally, the truffled fries which arrived with the steak frites were very well received, and arrived crispy hot. The dining room got a bit noisy as the night went on, and sometimes it was tough to get our server's attention, but once she was aware, she responded promply and to our satisfaction. Bathrooms are located on either side of the bar, with a 2 stall ladies room at the end closer to the dining room. I also noticed stairs heading down, but I'm not sure where they go. ***Update*** I returned for a second trip within a month's time, and we shared a pizza & two fish entrees. Sirloin steak & caramelized onion creamy mashed potato pizza $11 was on a thin crisp bready crust with decent chunks of nonstringy nonchewy meat (basically, with each bite I was able to cut through the meat quite cleanly and didn't have to gnaw it apart), fluffy scoops of not highly seasoned mashed spud, and decently colored onions. This appetizer would be plenty for a light dinner. It was conveniently sliced into 6 portions. Of the two entrees, I personally preferred the buttery lemony crispy Panko crusted lemon sole, buttery green beans, lemon butter sauce, creamy mashed potato $18 because I didn't find the salmon in the Pan seared Atlantic salmon, honey saffron glaze, garlicky spinach, roasted fingerling potatoes $19 particularly flavorful, although the fish itself was cooked just right. The sides were all cooked just right as well (nothing was mushy & everything retained their natural fresh colors), so I quite enjoyed this meal. The $7 apple crisp was a huge portion of thinly sliced apples under a nice sweet crisp - plenty to share. With the step at the door of the Centre Street entrance, this restaurant might not be quite handicap accessible, unless there's another way in? *** Update 2 *** Helpful note from the owner: "I just wanted to let you know we are fully handicap accessible at our side entrance and we have an elevator to the function room downstairs." read more

Pros: Great menu, bartenders are friendly for the most part, they usually have seasonal(and local!!) beers on tap and their entree salads are HUGE. It's a lively place on the weekends and a great place for a girls night or date night. We have been here for Trivia and had a blast. They also serve a delicious Sangria. It's definitely a mixed crowd, younger and older. Con: Parking can be very frustrating, it's located on a busy street so sometimes it takes a few loops around to find a spot. read more

The event is my daughter & father's bday dinner buffet on 1/8/23 for 35 people. For a party of 35 we only had 1 server/bartender. The food taste great, however the only complain I received from my guests is that the food are not enough. They only serve one serving for buffet.( $40+ pp) Maybe a second serving of the food buffet is needed.(Suggestion) Also, coffee runs out , my guests waited 1/2 hour for coffee. Probably if we have at least 2 servers for a party of 35 this won't happened. I requested copy of the bill ($2K) on 1/11, the coordinator replied same day that she will send the receipt to my email but up to this day, I haven't receive the receipt thru email. I love hosting family events & giving referral to family ,friends, and colleagues in regards to my own experience in promoting local restaurants/catering business . (Hospitality Businesses) This is the first time I tried nearby restaurant to support local businesses in the neighborhood and looking forward to support your establishment and more local neighborhood businesses going forward.
