Not sure what happened here but this place has terrible food now. My group of friends will typically eat anything. Not picky at all. I was surprised when everyone agreed to send back the awful Buffalo chicken dip. Just tasted off. We ordered nachos which also seemed like they were a SYSCO special. Nothing fresh and made in house. Every component felt like it was shipped in and mostly loaded with salt and preservatives. My double cheeseburger was... not fresh beef. Maybe frozen patties. The fries look fresh cut in photos from years ago on yelp but now they're bright yellow frozen style ones. No one liked their meals. I suspect this place decided to cut its food costs and switched to all generic products that come frozen. We decided to pull this place from our sports bar rotation. Hope it improves. read more

It's described as an up scale sport bar, which I don't quite understand. I'd say it's probably just a way to increase prices on food. The food was OK overall. It satisfied the itch. We started off with the pretzel, which was obviously not anything homemade or special. Probably came in a big box of frozen pretzels and they just threw it in a microwave to warm it up. The rest of the food was pretty good. The wings, burger and beer were all good. The best part was the unexpected live band. We didn't realize they'd have live music, but it was a treat. read more

Take a look at their "Health Score" from September 10th and previous dates. Do you see ALL OF THOSE VIOLATIONS??? Those were all related to rodents. Ask me how I know. Oh, because I was THERE, and I SAW an actual mouse there in March, and the Manager, Quinn P. DID NOT CARE. They have had continued to fail health inspections ever since, as you can plainly see. At least they were finally forced to close their doors for a day, and, oh, I DON'T KNOW...maybe...EXTERMINATE PROPERLY? I had an extensive review up about it, including Quinn and his completely nonchalant response, along with several follow up reviews as I saw the continued health inspection failures. We met our daughter and her friend that works in the area here for lunch. The place us set up nice, every modern and clean. The staff was very welcoming and we were taken care of quickly. The server made suggestions and answered our questions about the menu. The ticket times were really good and the food was delicious. The fried pickles were as good as Kyle said they were. once again the Alehouse has ripped me off, overcharging for a beer. I ordered the 13 ounce Widowmaker, $9 on the menu. I was charged for a 16 ounce beer. I measured the contents of the glass and while $3 isn't a big deal, it's still stealing from the consumer and puts one in an uncomfortable situation. Do I complain? Stiff the waitress? The beer was absolutely not 16 ounces and if BAH is doing this all day long it means they are making an extra $3 profit by overcharging. If you go there, watch for this. I already gave Boston Ale House a five star review nine months ago, but my boyfriend and I had such a wonderful experience here last night that I am compelled to give them another five star review if Yelp will allow that. This sports bar has a laid back, yet upscale vibe with TVs scattered around so you can watch the game(s) while enjoying your meal. Our waitress, Madison provided exceptional service. She patiently answered our questions about the menu and made excellent recommendations. Most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS!!! We both ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes, asparagus and onion strings which I highly recommend. The steak tips were cooked to perfection. Even though we both ordered ours well done, they were still moist and tender. The mashed potatoes were creamy with just the right amount of salt. We also got a side dish of the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Shallots and Bacon which was cooked in a mouthwatering delicious sauce. I've never had such amazing Brussel sprouts anywhere else. I just purchased a take out order for $104. we order 1 bones in chicKen, 2 vegetable stir fry, 1 order of potato skins and 1 order of fish and chips. The chicken was warm not freshly cooked and the chicken skin is so hard to chew (old chicKen). The potato skins were lukewarm and either over cooked or cooked frozen. The potato flesh is brown. The vegetable stir fry came with chicken that had the burnt strips on them, so those were frozen and dry. i tried to eat them but choked. I tried calling back several times but voicemail came on. Very frustrating and disappointing. Usually the food is good. I enjoyed other dishes before. Tonight was not a good night for them! Not going back! read more

A nice pub. It seems a bit more upscale than your typical Boston brew pub. We arrived around 2pm for a late lunch. We were four with a one year old. Service was prompt and friendly. The place was about 30% full and the bar was quite busy as there were soccer matches on. We got a couple of fancy cocktails and two beers. For food I got the fish & chips. It was haddock and nice and crispy just the way I like it. The fries were also perfect crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We also got the tuna poke bowl and a couple of burgers. I mainly see the place as a sports bar but I definitely want to try their brunch and dinner menus. It seems like the place can hold a large group and they have patio seating as well. This place is a big, fun tavern with classic American/bar food. The staff is attentive and provide good service. I love coming here when I want to grab a bite and watch a sports game on one of their many big screens. The bar is usually full of people there for the same reason I just described. This place is big enough to sit away from the bar if you want a more intimate experience with a group of people or just one other person. By the way, and who we tip, it tells us nothing had been done yet accept what was properly by then. A very cold stir fry . I the 2 appetizers had not been prepared. Nothing happened yet it was a total waste after the manager came out. Who I was not impressed with and apologized? He pointed out that he needed to talk to his staff. This place is quite disappointing. I gave it a 2nd chance after a bad experience the first time. I went with my Family on Fathers Day . There were 6 of us in our party. The wait to order food was ridiculous and I have to point out that this Father's Day 2025 was a very quiet day at the restaurant. We waited about 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. We ordered then and we waited at least 40 minutes for some of our food. 3 people were served and the other 3 had to wait another 20 minutes. We did not get to eat together and my daughter ordered a Burger done medium well. It came out raw . This is not your typical review. Last night, my wife and I met my cousins for dinner. We were greeted by a wonderful waitress who was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable with the menu. She guided us into our meal decisions and set us up with excellent drinks and then everything went sideways. One of the people in our party suddenly and unexpectedly appeared to spontaneously lose consciousness. It was immediately apparent that we needed emergency medical attention. The management and servers could not have been more supportive, more compassionate and more professional. As the EMT's were taking my cousin, I sought out the waitress to settle the bill and move on to this unexpected change of venue. She told me that, not only had the manager comped our drinks, they offered to pack our food (which was only starting to arrive when the medical emergency began) into to go containers and not charge us anything for the meal. I moved here a few months ago, and to be honest I have only enjoyed their Monday night five dollar burger nights. That being said the burgers were fantastic, the service amazing and the atmosphere well it's a sports bar and yet it was well lit, clean, comfy and friendly. On mondays, you can order a burger of choice from their menu for five dollars and a salad for two. Both of which are phenomenal and large, I have seen many families come early in the evening as well as large groups of friends and couples. It is just a great place to come and get a wonderful meal, especially Monday. I am assuming that the rest of the food is excellent as well. Oh wait, we did order poutine last time we went. She called herself the bar manager and said that her rule was the end all be all and refused anyone who had a vertical ID because she claimed it was fake. First off let me say the food is great we've been here several times. The service has never been great. I placed an order on Grubhub tonight and the order came incorrect. I called to see if there was anything that could be done to fix it and the person who answered the phone said no he could only offer an apology. I asked if I could speak to a manager and he tried to get me off the phone by saying there's nothing they could do and to leave my number. I said that I would stay on the phone and wait because the last time I called when the order was wrong no one got back to me. He told me he was going to put the phone down and try to find the manager to talk to me. I waited 13 minutes for someone to pick up the phone and say hello then hang up. The person who said hello genuinely sounded like he was concerned so I'm not sure if the first person cut the phone call short by shutting off the phone or what. So I called back 3 more times to get through. The first guy who answered, answered again and told me I didn't say hello when his manager picked up? Which I did! Then said 'sorry there's nothing we can do I can just tell the manager. Bye. ' Then hung up on me! It's unfortunate the food is good but I will not be getting food from here again. The highlights were the crispiest fish & chips ever, a very flavorful steak tip and mashed potato dish, and a pesto risotto. Warning: the level of butter used in these dishes was EXTREME. The Parmesan Herb fries came out remarkably fast, and we were impressed to find them hot, crisp, and well seasoned (rosemary is a nice touch). The Whipped Feta is also a delicious starter. The look is an upscale local bar with warm/modern feel. The drinks were good and both drink and food menu had good variety of options. Strawberry Fields cocktail was delicious. I got the steak tips entree medium well and it was cooked excellent although the steak lacked flavor. They needed a better marinade to kick it up in flavor. Salt and pepper seasoning just wasn't going to do it. The asparagus was cooked fine it had good crisp. The mash potato's meh.... i wish they had a loaded mash potato option. My date had the rigatoni bolognese I felt it didn't have enough meat but the pasta was definitely hands made and cut and the flavors were good. My friend liked it a lot. Went in for lunch today about 2:30pm. Drinks were good, bartender was friendly, and the fish sandwich & turkey sandwich were very good. The problem was the music they had playing. Now let me say, I love all types of music, but there is a time and place for some. Not many people were in there but there was a family with 2 young kids. The music was mostly rap. I'm sorry but trying to eat lunch at 3:00pm in the afternoon & having to listen to songs that frequently mentioned grabbing the booty, smack my a$$, the "F" word, the "N" word, and more inappropriate phrases is just in poor taste. read more

The best of the best! Recently had my wedding reception here, and Boston Ale House is PERFECT venue for special occasion. First, the venue is absolutely gorgeous. Modern / upscale place, tons of windows/natural light - not your typical bar.... seriously pretty enough to have a wedding reception, or any time of special event. Use to going to the typical restaurants/bars in the surrounding area for family parties, but this place just blew the rest out of the water. Easily held +200 people, live band on a raised platform which was perfect space for music, food stations throughout the bar, dessert station, etc with plenty and plenty of room for eating and mingling. Gorgeous decorations throughout the space. Management is GREAT to work with for planning event - flexible and willing to go above and beyond to make sure your party is a blast. Chef Drew works with you on different food options - and comes to the table with lots of different delicious ideas. From the first conversation with him, you can tell he extremely passionate about food, and knows exactly what to deliver to guests. Staff knows that they are doing for special events. Attentive, friendly, quick...The espresso martinis are a must! The food was fantastic. (Loved, loved, loved the pizza).
