I was told to take antihistamines to see if it was an allergic reaction and it didn't work. Then I was told by Dr. Castellano that it wasn't the filler causing this reaction and that I would have to seek another provider because there was nothing his office could do. I found a PA who specialized in fillers and she was able to dissolve the lumps with hyaluronidase. She stated that it was a common issue with fillers that are injected incorrectly or excessively and don't dissolve. Dr. Castellano didn't put much care into my concerns when it was just a simple fix! When I emailed his office about the simple fix, he never responded.

I asked for an update on when they'd be able to get me in and I got an "I don't know, hopefully soon." I understand being late. I don't understand acting like I'm not even there. After mentioning that I had been waiting for a long time and was planning on leaving in the next 5 mins, they were suddenly able to get me in to see Dr. Castellano, who was very nice, but talked with me for approx. 4 minutes. I have no issue with this as I know he was probably swamped and I understand the value of a doctors time. However, I never met with the surgical coordinator and I did not get pricing at all or see any mock ups for the potential rhinoplasty. They said that I wasn't able to meet the coordinator because I had to leave and I could if I waited longer. At this point it was already an hour and 15 mins after my appt time. I left because I wasn't planning on living the rest of my life in that office. It was a complete waste of time and energy. I think patient experience should be at the forefront of the office's mind especially for elective plastic surgery. Y'all gotta sell it but instead I felt dismissed and that I was inconveniencing THEM by being there.

Although he and his staff (wife) were very friendly, Dr Halpern did what he wanted, not what I wanted. I wanted a C, I walked away with a DDD. On every follow up appointment I expressed concern, and they continued to downplay my words, saying I looked great and I would like myself later after my skin stretched a bit. Not much to do about it after the surgery, though. Recovery was brutal and I dreaded ever having to do this again. Our initial conversation reminded me of being recruited for college football--it was that impactful. The entire team, from the front desk staff to the medical assistant/nurse, demonstrated a high level of professionalism as well. I received 10 fillers for a total of $6,000. I was very pleased with the initial results and was informed they could last up to three years. While I was somewhat skeptical, I thought that even if the effects lasted a year, it would be well worth the investment. Unfortunately, the results began to fade significantly after about three weeks. I returned for an additional three fillers, which again produced noticeable improvement, but those results also only lasted about three-ish weeks. In total, I spent close to $8,000. While I can honestly say that for a brief period--about two months--I felt amazing, the short duration of the results does not justify the cost in my opinion. Therefore, I would not recommend this particular procedure to others. Based on my personal experience, I would rate the overall value of the treatment a 2 out of 10, primarily due to the high cost and limited longevity of the results. Please understand the rating is based on cost/results/how long it lasted.

I went in for a simple breast implant exchange in February and I ended up having three surgeries with him and had to leave his care in May to go to Baycare wound care because a wound opened up in my breast and he never tried to find the source of why my skin continued to break down. I had a Seroma that developed and he kept telling me I had an infection despite TWO negative cultures. 2 minutes into the care of Dr. Tas at Baycare and he found the seroma and I stopped leaking so much liquid within 24 hours. I am now in debt over $20,000 and have to have a reconstructive surgery by a better plastic surgeon in six months that will cost me $16,000-$30,000. I also have only one implant in because of all of this. It will end up costing me 36k minimum and a year anc a half of my life and he nor his staff cares... at all! I tried to tell him over and over that something was not right, but he spent less than two minutes with me at each appointment and simply did not care. My skin continued to break down, the wound continued to get bigger and I had fluid flowing steadily out of my body, and he still rushed his time with me. Please do your research on this doctor and save yourself the money, the trauma to your body and everything else that I have been having to deal with.

I would like to think he was having a bad day but it could be just his personality. I really don't know. I felt very violated and disrespected from the time I walked in until I left. Its not uncommon for staff, friends and family to hype up a business with bias reviews.
