Best pizza in ND hands down.
    Nicole S.

If you like NY style thin crust, this is your place! Really good sauce and cheese too.

Im from Jersey. Any time I come to Bisamrck...Nardellos is a must! Reminds me of NY style pizza that I ate growing up on Jersey. Cheesesteaks are the real deal. Best pizza and maybe best cheesesteak (toss up with Jersey Mikes) in the whole damn state!

Plain 14" pizza w/ extra cheese. Notice the 'cheese swirl' that occurred sitting in the passenger seat on the way home.

I ordered a plain 14" with extra cheese to go. it was fantastic and way too much food for one person. I think I knew that going in. The flavor reminded me of my favorite pizza place in Cincinnati, Vic Cassano's. Thin crust with an emphasis on flavor. Nardello's has this in spades. Extra cheese was probably too much, but the silliest thing of all was because it was hot out of the oven, the cheese had a mind of it's own on the drive to the hotel. If you're going to get a pizza to go, bring someone with you that can hold the pizza box steady. Next time I think I'll eat in and I think I'll stick with just ordering pizza by the slice.

I just don't have words. Wanna know how good this place is? Sorry, I can't describe it. Try it yourself. Upset about the wait? What wait? Wait it out, ya impatient North Dakotan! It's that good, seriously. This is New York pizza in little Bismarck. Get some, trust me. Please please please please trust me. This is worth every penny and then some. Speaking of which, time to share some of that ag/oil money on your next tip. I dare ya to try out a 30%er. They deserve it, lol! Thanks Nardello's. You rock for real and roll to steal my heart and tummy. Lol!!! Thanks again. So good. Such good food. Such good service. I'm rocked.

I can't tell you enough... if you're looking for New York style pizza, Nardello's is THE ONLY place in Bismarck you will find it. They're extensive menu ranges from appetizers, salads, calzones, and pizza. Don't miss their garlic knots, too. They brushed with an amazing blend of roasted garlic and olive oil. I always get their calzone that is stuffed with the best ricotta on the planet. Where do they get it from? I could eat that stuff in my sleep. Grab a slice or a whole pie with an assortment of delicious toppings. Their antipasto salad is heavy on the onions and peppers. Be warned so you may want to consider it when you order. The caprese salad contained fresh tomato slices and fresh mozzarella cheese topped with fresh basil. The only bummer is their closed on Sundays. Nardello's has amped the pizza competition in the marketplace and is my favorite in the area.

Philly is like a foot long.

We came to this restaurant in Bismarck because it was so highly rated. Maybe I came on an off day because of the holidays, but I wasn't nearly as impressed as other diners. They mixed up our order on a few items. The Philly cheesesteak was HUGE, and you can add any toppings you would like for a fee. It is definitely enough for two meals (or two people). I will also give them props for the gluten free crust, as it's the best I've tried. It was served on a cheap paper plate, however. Two of us ordered it to share, but we should've each ordered our own. The antipasto salad was also very tasty and covered in toppings. It was a nice addition to a pizza.

It's happened time and time again - the most recent being just last month, when on the road finishing out visiting all 50 US States. ND was my 50th. Anyway, while in Bismarck, stopped off at Landers and had a great experience. It was a simple lunch - An Italian sub and a cup of soup. Tossed in chips and a salad too. Getting ahead of myself. It's in the building of a gas station. One side is the convenience store the other is Landers. Counter where your food is made to order and seating. It's not table service - walk up to the counter, order and find a seat. Your food will be brought to you. When you're done, head to register to pay the bill. It's not easy to capture how tasty my meal was with words. But as I've said a countless number of times, if our tastes align, you'll love this place. Everything from the bun, to the soup and chips. I devoured it all leaving the salad for my friend. I especially enjoyed how the sub's ingredients were evenly loaded. Had a taste of it all in every bite. Unlike other experiences where it's all lettuce or the sauce is overpowering. The chips weren't too greasy or salty and the soup was just tied everything together. Obviously I'm not a regular but I know if I lived in the area, I would be and then some. Definitely the duke. If you're in the area, it's definitely a must.

Also the hours are 10am-3pm, which are much shorter than the gas station hours (I only know because I came back the next day lol). The deli has everything made to order so it's as fresh as it gets! I ordered a half sammy and soup combo ($13.99) w/ fountain drink, as well as a salad entree because I couldn't decide what to order. They brought the food to me at the table and quickly realized that it was way too much food. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it all. The sandwich bread had a nice chew to it and the ratio of all the ingredients were well balanced. As for the soup it was flavorful, not too salty, and just made me feel all warm inside. I really liked the micro greens in the salad as well as the slices of fresh avocado. While it's located inside a gas station, it really acts like an independent deli shop that has a good steady flow of customers. I wish we had a shop like this back home because I would definitely be a regular!

According to the restaurant, they have been open for 50 years. I googled the best lunch at in Bismarck and this restaurant topped the list. We asked some people in line what their favorite sandwich was. I went with the grinder on sourdough and I was not disappointed. This sandwich was delicious the deli meats, the sauces, the bread, all super fresh . It looks like they rotate their soups and if the wild rice soup would've been available I totally would've ordered that because that is not something I can get anywhere outside of North Dakota. The staff are friendly, and the line moves pretty quick. The food comes out relatively fast. I loved my sandwich from here and I wish it was closer because I would probably get sandwiches all the time. We were the table that was cracking up in the back and stayed there until you closed. From the moment we wandered in, the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. Not only did he explain what every dessert in the case was and how it was made, he let us try their fresh baked breads and described their sandwiches and the grocery area of the store as well! It was a personal tour and we were so grateful! One of my friends has family in Mexico/travels there frequently and was delighted to find some of her favorite soda as well as desserts (albeit with different names) here. And she left well stocked! Of course I had to ask if they had a vegetarian sandwich (as he was describing how they make their sandwich meat) and he paused a beat and then exclaimed, "That's not latin!" Oh it was so funny, we all had a great laugh! He went on to say he'd be happy to put some veggies on a sandwich for me if I wanted. We did ask how he came to North Dakota and he explained it was because of the hurricane in Puerto Rico awhile back. We told him how happy we were he chose Bismarck of all places. It can't be easy! We all left loaded down with bakery boxes and items from the grocery portion of the store. And were all delighted at how amazing their prices were! Seriously - this place has great prices. I got tres leches, a giant slab of the most amazing vanilla cake, a cup of what tasted like horchata that was a cross between pudding/jello in texture, and a cork screw shaped pastry filled with bavarian cream that I've seen reviewers call a cannoli but he was specific in the fact that it was absolutely not a cannoli. (I believe he called it a quesito but I could be wrong.) The owner also stressed that the desserts in the case change in variety daily so what may be there one day won't be there the next. All in all - this business is fantastic in every way (right down to the fact that the room was absolutely spotless and sparkling clean) and we will be back next time we are in Bismarck! Please turn out and support this wonderful new business!
